Credit where credit is due, but JS Bach fathered 20 children, of whom only 10 survived to adulthood. His first child was born when he was 23 and the last one when he was 57.
Chapeau Mr Ross!
SCOTT ROSS PLAYED EVERYTHING SO WELL. BUT HIS RENDITION OF DOMENICO SCARLATTI WERE LIKE NO OTHER. SOME MAGIC OF STYLE AND PROPULSION OF MUSICAL FORCES, PLAYING THE COMPLETE 550 SONATAS WITH BRILLIANT STYLE. HE RECREATED THE STYLE OF ITALY, PORTUGAL, AND SPAIN IN ALL THE SPARKLING SCARLATTI SONATAS WITH A MARVELOUS AND DELIGHTFUL ENERGY.
@@lucienvergez1565 I can still read French, I think, and I gather you're saying that the piece is written for the Harpsichord, not the piano, and by implication the original instrument will be better. I can't say I completely agree. I mostly agree. But, you'd have to at least admit that there are some good interpretations by pianists.
I played them over and over and still didn't know them. The Partitas are works of genius on every page and I think you need to be a genius to play them. But even playing them poorly elevated my spirit; they are not of this earth.

I think this is the performance that Bach would have preferred. It's astonishing!
Brain melting!!
00:04 - I Sinfonia
04:22 - II Allemande
09:10 - III Courante
11:35 - IV Sarabande

Any man that could write music like that could easily father 27 children! Bach, my man!

@@msotil What a guy
@@msotil If we want to give credit where credit is due, then 99.99% of the effort required to have children belongs to Bach's two wives not Bach.
...but not every man who can or in fact did father 27 or more children could compose such a masterpiece or even compose at all...
Thanks to the wives
Scott Ross has the best renditions of these partitas in my opinion
The right and proper vision of rhythms and tempi in the first movement is especially noticeable

Transcendent musical interpretation, great creativity !!

Beautiful rendition!
love how the covered grand takes second row in the photo
Judging by its feet, I'm pretty sure it's another harpsichord.
Tout simplement magnifique !
A good rendition on harpsichord and well recorded in decent sound quality too.
Thanks, recordings like these are hard to find on RUclips!

Glen Gould? Bach on a piano is a transcription!
That Roundeaux... OMG
As much as I love Gould, I think in many cases, including this one, Ross is better.
i absolutely prefer gould's version over this. but this is amazing too.

Ross and Gould have unique styles. Both are quite magical. Otherworldly technical prowess.
The instrument, too, had been chosen the most carefully ...
Good grief I am not familiar with these. I shall play this over till I know them.
You mean the six keyboard Partitas? They are some of Bach's greatest works, and perhaps the finest is the E-minor, No. 6.
I played them over and over and still didn't know them. The Partitas are works of genius on every page and I think you need to be a genius to play them. But even playing them poorly elevated my spirit; they are not of this earth.
You can play Bach’s keyboard pieces over and over for a lifetime and still find new joy in them
Si
porque no te gusta glenn gould?
Incultos hay en todas partes
recorded in 1983, crazy

Rameau tuning?
Exemplary in every sense
big fna
This harpsichord is too harsh. Not delicate enough for Bach.
Wrong.
