I've got a base with two Curious Deposit sites near, I've found that warping to the station in the system and back (takes about 30 seconds since the update) resets them and I can make tens of thousands of nanites really quickly.
Also, if you go more than 600 U away from a Curious Deposit, it will respawn, you can return and harvest again. (I'm almost certain it's at least 600 U)

This update greatly improved same system teleportation, just find two curious deposits on the same planet, make two bases, teleport between them while harvesting each deposit. That way instead of teleporting to SS you can stay on the planet and harvest evey time you teleport.
This is by far the fastest way to gain nanites. I figured this out myself after I started playing nms about a month ago now I believe. Best way I've found to do it is pretty simple and boring. First thing you need to know is which sentinels drop stuff. The flying ones that only shoot at you drop green. The dogs drop blue. The regular walker drop purple. The only one you need to worry about though are the green tubes. To start out and make this as efficient as possible you need to find a spot that is decently flat. You can always smooth it out with your manipulator if it isn't perfectly flat. Doesn't have to be too large an area. Now that you have your area ready get a sentinels attention. Make sure you are at the center of your flattened area before you kill it. Now kill it. When the 1st wave arrives kill everyone except the flying triangle. He is who you want. Now, just stand there in the center and shoot whoever it spawns in. It will spawn repair robots but they don't drop anything. I use them to repair triangle boy when I accidentally shoot him. Be careful not to kill triangle boy because it will end the wave. You want to stay on wave 1. So it's easy lol Do this for as long as you want. Don't pick up anything until you are done though. The way the drops work is if your shield is low it will drop something to refill your shield. After it has droped that it will start dropping more glass. If you go long enough you will have a circle of green tubes surrounding you. Pickup is pretty easy. Just run and hold down the pickup button. I do this whenever I need a quick 50k nanites for upgrading. Also helps a bit with my stasis device farm. Currently making 1.5 billion units a day on that. Tell you how to set that up but it's a bit of a longer speech lol Good luck hunting 😁
So I just got to an outlaw system and enter the outlaw space station and there you can buy suspicious packages and suspicious arms or whatever they are called and they also give you upgrades to sell for nanites. I buy them out, open them, and sell the upgrades and make about 7k nanites each time. Then go back after like 30 mins and they'll be restocked. I think you need about 1 mill units to buy out their supplies each time. I have so much unites I just buy my nanites this way.
Tainted metal (which you get from derelict freighters) has a one to two nanite production when you put it into a refiner thus I have thousands and thousands of nanites
your exactly right and while doing both methods i had 3 mil nanites in a matter of 3 hours. btw if u didnt know when refining the tainted metal go hope in ur ship and hop out dont stop the refiners and just reload autosave when u load back it u dont have to wait 12 mins for the metal to refine it does it within seconds and with the colossus dupe glitch in one day i had over 500 mil nanites

I told you this method in a comment to one of your video 2 days ago . You can farm indefinitely. When sentinels popup, kill all the healers first, then the fighters. But LEAVE the summoner alive. He will keep summoning new drones that you can kill and farm until the end of time.
This is a really good point! The Summoner drone you can watch bring in two more drones. You'll want to be careful to not use the plasma cannon near the Summoner as it can be hit in the blast radius. Plasma cannon is good for taking out, or at least damaging, multiple drones at once.

You can also farm sentinel waves at your settlement if you take the anomalous message at your office but hold off going to the anomaly to have Tethys craft your drone pet. Instead just portal out and back to your settlement and each time voila another drone swarm!
Yo this is great! Ive been enjoying annhilating wave upon wave of sentinels and got overwhelmed with salvaged glass very quickly. Didn't think to try selling the sentinel upgrades and it wasn't mentioned on the notes. This beats farming mould from curious deposits which is rather boring and feels grindy. Thanks Jason, I'm definitely going to enjoy the process of getting to the S-class MT a lot more now!
Been doing this since the update. Had 200k spent some and went back for more. Also you can get a boundary map from salvaged glass that leads to a pillar if your lucky enough. It’s good for those who don’t want to fight up to the last wave of sentinels.

I'm not sure if anyone knows this, I haven't read all the comments here... but using a refiner, tainted metal has a 1:2 ratio for nanites!! So put in 10 tainted metal, get 20 nanites! The processing profit maxes out at around 2,000 tainted metal. If you put a larger stack in, you won't get anymore return than roughly 4,000 nanites. You'll be wasting material essentially. 2,000 tainted metal takes 12 minutes to process so basically roughly 20,000 nanites an hour can be processed!! Have fun travelers! 🙃

What older ways? This is literally nothing new at all ... You have ALWAYS been able to sell upgrades... I've followed Jason still plays since day one, and lately his tips and tricks have been so superficial I'm thinking of unfollowing him ... His videos have become less and less extensive all while his channel has been getting more and more popular... Starting to realize he doesn't deserve as much attention for the little effort he puts in his videos.
Completely unrelated but yesterday I discovered that you can buy about 3 pages of x class mods for nanites from landed pilots. In case you don't know what they are, pilots can land on the ground. I have only ever seen one and that was the one I learned this from.
I’ve put 160+ hrs so far into the game and I’ve been playing since about June of last year. Very first person I saw that made videos specifically for the things I needed was Jason. I’ve even come into a live chat and I had an absolute blast talking with everyone!
You could also put one in a portable refiner, place another refiner inside of it, move the 2nd refiner you just placed with build edit, and boom you now have 2.
Just started to play no mans sky a couple days ago and I’m having a blast, I was throwing that glass out the window left and right thank you I need da moneys
If you turn off the planets sentinals, then only the barrels spawn at manufacturing facilities. i think it also counts towards your killed sentinal count too :P
This doesn't seem to work anymore besides making lots with chlorine. Selling those ship modules gets me very little nanites. I'm also limited to 2 large refineries at my base. I have found killing sentinels and picking up the glass they drop to have very expensive modules which sell for hundreds of nanites.
He has vids on how to find Royal MultiTools. Besides Jason Plays, other channels like: SurvivalBob, Xaine's World, Beeblebum, and Captain Steve all have Royal MultiTool vids.

Cobalt is another great resource to use as well. Every space station, I believe, sells Cobalt. Cobalt can be used to Market Crash at any space station.

I guess most of the players are dealing with some kind of problem with this mission. I wasn't able to get the sentinel hardframe for the legs part, now I don't know where to find sentinel mechs anymore. I can't proceed with the mission, anyone else with the same problem?
Sometimes you can find them guarding the pillars, so if you find a map to a sentinel pillar, or defeat sentinel level 5 (you should have encountered at least 2 sentinel mechs one at level 4 and one at level 5) you shouldn't have too much trouble getting the engine... I actually have 2 engines, but never got the little thing to start the droid mission from my settlement... I've been through 2 sentinel attacks so far at my settlement since this update and I got a whole lot of nothing so I can't even start that mission yet
I play in survival and I just scrap A and S Class ships... if you scrap ships though, stay away from haulers completely (due to the price) and stay away from any ship priced over 8.1mil... in a busy tier 3 economy system you'll make an average of 20k nanites per hour and to make your money back, take some of those storage augments and upgrade a 5mil exotic and scrap it, but don't bother upgrading it's tech slots, just the general inventory as the tech slots don't add value, only the general inventory does
I did this one time I was playing dice trone which is a bord game with my brother's and I was playing as artificer and I basically asked if I activated my nanits which is basically a bomb the artificer has will they activate 😂😂😂

You guys are doing way too much work. Go to an outlaw station, buy suspicious tech or arms packages. Open the packages, sell the technology. I can get 10,000 nanites in a few minutes
still wish you could give 50+ food to the guy in the anomaly, i really like the cooking but hate having to give one by one. just shove it all in your mouth pls lol. will try this instead !
Farm units using easy money makers, you don't need too much, 10mil units should be enough for ~50k - 100k nanites. Go to any outlaw system and buy all the 'Tech' and 'Arms' Upgrade Boxes. Open them and sell modules for nanites, keep the ones you want to install. Made me 100k nanites in about 40minutes maybe an hour.

I noticed you have five multi tools on your character. I thought you could only own up to three in the past and no more after you get your third one.
You can get up to 6 now with the Sentinel update! it is so good!
Last time I checked (Friday) I couldn't sell my Sentinel upgrades to the station upgrade merchants. Maybe they patched it in on PS4 since then...

I'd rather keep farming exotic squids for 3 storage augmentations and 3 sellable upgrades.

Just use the double exotic ship spawn and keep scrapping and reloading then sell the s class mods.

Tried this today and it's been nerfed 😑 you can still sell them in the space station but only for 93 nanites each
