There's also a lot of english words or full sentences in kpop songs 🙂 In that song there's the whole pre-chorus part from 0:30 to 0:50 in english tho and english words here and there throughout the song ! exactly! stray kids have many members fluent in english and couldve easily chosen an english song to performance, but seeing them not do that just goes to show that they have their priorities straight, choosing a korean song to showcase what exactly is KPOP that we love so much!

I will always be proud that they went to an American award show representing Kpop and performed a KOREAN SONG. Stray Kids have never changed themselves or their music for others. Despite all the hate they receive for 'noise' music, they still keep doing what they like since they absolutely love and are proud of their own art ❤

Exactly what makes me love them more! They didn't care to make an English version of the song, they in fact sang their hearts out but in Korean! I love how they are representing Korea on a global stage like this!
It was an awesome performance. They weren’t the first and won’t be the last to perform an entirely Korean song. BTS did DNA on the AMAs in 2018 and brought down the house. Even though I don’t know Korean, I love K-POP and it was because of BTS’ song Butter that started it all. I loved it, but my favorite song of theirs is one of the earliest, Fire, and it too is Korean with a few English words. Proving that music is a universal language. I’m so excited to see more KPOP artists being featured on awards shows.

This is only 1 tiny portion of Stray Kids, their huge self produced discography is EVERYTHING. Like Channie said. For a lot of us their music came to us when we really needed it and helped us a lot or even for some of us saved our life. Their honesty is a huge, huge part of it. Not just how much they shine and win. Some of their darkest songs are their best.

it's been five months and people are still having that english vs korean debate in the comments. for the love of god, kpop itself isn't a "genre", it's literally any music sung in the korean language. there are plenty of other genres that are within the music such as pop, hip-hop, etc. stray kids are a KPOP GROUP. if they want to perform at the vmas with a KOREAN SONG, it's entirely their right to! nobody's saying there's an issue with singing in english, stays are just commending the boys for sticking to their native language despite how stigmatized kpop is in the western music industry. none of it was shade towards other groups. can't we just drop this and enjoy their incredible success both performance and awards? 2023 was HUGE for them!

Their music is a bit different kind of bread than usual kpop, that's why they catch my attention and when I checked their discography I get pretty shocked 😲 they wrote and composed all their musics and I love that fact👏
as a grown woman I don't have a time and interest to dive into kpop groups but this guys on my Spotify list and I listen them everyday when I'm on road ❤

Hi! Thanks for appreciating Stray Kids and for what they do! They have a unique sound that very few artists have these days. In fact, they have their own genre of music called the *mixed taste or mala genre*. They incorporate so many elements from different genres (like hip hop, boombap, trap, EDM, dubstep, rock, punk-rock and even ballad or acoustic) into one song. They also have songs based on a particular genre which, over years, has become a part of their vast discography...and it's upto the audience, or us Stays, to decide which ones we prefer. It's like they are offering up a menu full of options and we can select for ourselves, that's how "Gods' menu" also comes into play here. Plus although all 8 members can rap, dance and sing as well as write their own songs, they have subunits. The subunit responsible for producing Stray Kids' music is called 3racha (yes, it sounds like Sriracha or hot sauce which links with them adding flavour to the "dishes" they prepare for us as the audience). Hope this long comment of mine helps you get a gist of what they are about!
