Hi, thanks for sharing. I'm British, 40 years old, and looking at Canada as a settling/permanent option for the future. I have a Masters in visual arts, teaching ESL for a few years now, and learning website design on the side (and getting clients over the last year). I understand that I may need to get some more work experience and develop the required skill-set to get accepted. Firstly would I need a job offer before applying? Based on starting from scratch, what strategy would you suggest? I do enjoy website design, which I have been doing myself and not directly for a company. Would I need experience working for a web development company or could I apply if I have the required amount of experience based on more freelance work or having my own online web development business? I think it's a case of having the right profession and experience under my belt at this point. So I'm just trying to get a sense of the timeline I need to focus on towards reaching my goal. I have a question, my wife joined me in Canada and I’m home country she was a director but now in Canada she can’t find a job probably because they see she’s qualified, does she need to apply with her previous experience which was analyst to be able to get interviews ? What if they ask her about her recent position as director ? Can you please explain what to do and how to manage this situation

Hello Sahil, I have a question that I hope you can help with. My spouse has received a scholarhsip in Canada and I suppose I am likely to receive an Open Work Permit. According to your advice and calculations a few months ago, this will likely result in us getting a very good shot at permanent residence once my spouse completes their masters' degree, and me having 1 year of Canadian work experience as a Skilled Worker. In our student visa + open work permit application, we have a section that requests I provide proof of return to origin like an airplane ticket for supposedly next year. Is it okay to just send a letter that states that as their spouse and with work experience, I intend to apply for permanent residence, and only if that fails I aim to return to my origin country? Or do I HAVE to submit a plane ticket as part of the application? Please assist, this is truly vital for us to know before sending in the application.
