Thought exactly the same thing! Thiago learned a lot from Alonso and Pep in his first Bayern years, so he propably took over some of their playstyles. I always loved watching him play and hope he has a good time at LFC!
Seems a lot more like Xavi to me. Alonso would sit in the hole and ping passes around, but he was a lot more positionally rigid than Xavi and Thiago. Thiago will play the short one twos and moves around the pitch a lot more like Xavi used to.

I was giggling like a little boy after a few minutes of him coming on. It was like, right there is the player we've been after for ages. Pushing and pulling the other side, slowing it down and speeding things up, Massive smile here after his debut and I have no doubt some of the other players will learn from his ball control and skills. A very welcome addition to the team.

I don't know their body language seems like uncomfort anytime they got the ball. But not with Thiago. Of course Steven Gerrard and Hendo are our Legend with their great Skill and get trophies. The thing that makes Thiago a world class player is the fact he’s always looking for the forward pass, even in the situations where most players would take the safe pass back to the keeper. No matter what he’s always looking to progress the ball forward. And that wide pass out to the full backs will be a deadly weapon for Liverpool, it won’t be long until Thiago can deliver a cross on a pinpoint to either Robertson or Trent for them to get in behind. Great signing for Liverpool

Joseph Adesanya he did some lovely forward passes through the middle which none of our midfielders do and he goes sideways or backwards when nothing is on forwards just to keep the ball moving which increases the chance of an opening somewhere else, don’t get bothered by it ahaha

The key is whenever he passes it like that the receiver is always set to drive forward without pressure and it challenges the other team to shift properly.

Imagine how Curtis Jones is lucky to get such a role model. I'd assume he's got his motivation sky-rocketed and will be learning and fighting for a position in the midfield even more, despite Gini is still with us, and there are tons of options, doesn't matter.
Judging from that performance, Thiago is already a Liverpool player in terms of understanding the game, which means only one thing - when he plays, there will be goals, always. I just don't see how he cannot find a way to create a chance for someone and leave the field. There will be chances all around, and all the players will need to be ready for those to come.
Sometime ago, we considered Matip on a free transfer was the bargain of the decade. Thiago for 20m at his peak? Well, mate. You know what I mean.
