Yes, this was crazy fun to do. I had a moment in the beginning when I was wondering how the hell I was going to pull this off and which direction to take it, but once I figured it out...we now have lift off! No other way to explain it. So what was the "aha!" moment? Nintendo sounds.
I was born in the 80's, and although I never owned a Nintendo (because my parents were all like, "Go play outside in the beautiful paradise that is Hawai'i" or "go expand your mind with a great book". Silly parents.) that didn't stop me from barging in on friends houses to haphazardly kick some Street Fighter and Mario Bro's ass (there was no method to my madness - just a chaotic bashing of buttons that surprisingly always ended up in landed sonic booms and flag jumps). So maybe it's no surprise that I'm kinda obsessed with the 8bit.
Sometimes when songs are so classically it's own and the definition of it's era, it's hard to re-imagine it without totally committing to a whole other light. But I thought it'd be cool to bring two different generations together into one song - where we all can sing along and dance and have a kickass time.
Isn't that what music's all about, yo?

IKR? After watching her cover of NIN's Closer, which is objectively fantastic and amazing, I came across this thinking "OK this isn't going to work." I hear the intro sequence and think "Pffft obvi she doesn't "get" this song"
And (just like with Closer) I wind up listening to it on repeat for bout an hour, still trying to find a reason not to like it.
Spolier alert: It didn't happen.
I feel like a little kid seeing her do this, then going over and hitting a bunch of random keys thinking I'm on her same level.
She IS. 🏄
I think this performance, raises two significant points, at the same time. 1. Her talent and imagination in this re-interpretation and 2. The strength of the original song.
Absolutely on the second point. If this came out today and the original song and recording never existed, this would be a massive hit and instant classic.

Anyone into Zeppelin is fine by me.
There's a cover, and then there's an interpretation. Anyone with a little talent can pull off a decent cover. But to really nail an interpretation, it shouldn't be immediately obvious what the song is. This is a perfect example. The familiarity came after the beat and groove were established. I really enjoyed this infectious take on a classic Zeppelin song! Next: please do "Kashmir."
Even people without talent can pull off a cover. Interpretation (which requires talent) is the correct definition!

I disagree, a truly great cover to me is an interpretation. If I want the original song I'll listen to the original song, not a cover.

The only problem with this cover is the people in the comments getting so butt hurt over it because they're comparing it to the original. Why get so pissy about someone else showing appreciation for a great band? Having appreciation for great artists is where other great artists come from. Everyone is a fucking critic

Let's be clear here, she is the furthest thing there is from a "great artist" .... I laughed so hard at that I am literally coughing my lungs out. This is cheap easy to product music. I think her main inspiration isn't the songs she is mangling, but the views she is hoping to gain. Did you guys know that during the middle ages after the fall of Rome that literally 99% of the earths population forgot to read and write over the course of several hundred years. Only Monks keep this alive and some nobility. This music is proof enough that were are headed in that direction again. Musicianship, music theory .. raw talent is quickly vanishing. Raise your hands if any of you honestly think that Justin Bieber will one day be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? If you raised your hand, please go outside and stand in the street.

Screw all of the haters out there. I like hearing a fresh take on songs. How many original songs are REALLY out there? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Take your blinders off critics and learn to appreciate someone else's interpretation.

Would love to see something original. No disrespect intended but I think you have worked hard enough on your musical abilities to produce some truly amazing original work. Please don't sell yourself short, you are an amazing artist and I only wish that I had something that would remind me of you, not the original artist.
I love your work, I have a lot of respect for you. I just know that you have it in you to be an equal to the musicians that inspire you. Stop doing covers, start being you. I'm sure that people will enjoy it just as much, if not more.

I'm a 50 year old die hard zepplin fan and this is one of the most original and quite frankly awesome covers I have ever heard of a zepplin song great outside the Box original

Huge fan here, I saw Zeppelin in concert in the 70’s, along with all the other greats of the 70’s. I had every album. She blew this one out of the water! 64 here, and still rocking!

That was not what i was expecting. I liked it though.
I prefer the original but It's 2017 so there's bound to be some new modern robotic interpretations of older songs due to technology. It's not that bad.

Look, renditions of-..., variations on-... are really just subjective & interpretational. As are your opinions, so there is no real right or wrong way of doing this.
J.M.H.O. here, but the way she interprets other's music through her versions are fantastic, so leave your hate speeches tucked away in your keyboard.

There are some things you just don't do and this is one of them. The problem is, she is too young to understand and know this. While I admire her creative side, especially the tech aspect of her music, I think her thirst for new material, her desire to expand upon what she is doing unfortunately took her here to where she utterly destroyed this timeless masterpiece. The good news is, most musicians understand this and do not touch these treasures. Honestly, can you imagine someone redoing Comfortably Numb or Back in Black? I sure as hell can't.

I like the keyboarding you introduce at about 2:34 . You should listen to the virgin magnetic material remix of this song, its titled " Rumble on ", do a youtube search. Is there something you could do with electronics to give your voice some depth ? ( thickness )

Gotta be honest if it wasn't for the vocal line I'd have absolutely no clue what song this is a cover of. I'd just think it was a random song that stole the synth line around 2:40

The problem as I see it is that the original was an acoustic song with a fast strumming pattern that uses lots of 6ths, sus chords and sliding into chords The main one being the A then the sus stroke.. I'll give you it is different to LZ. I feel the essence of the rural tone is crucial to the song and technoing (if there is such a word) has meant that feel is lost.

There's only one way to play any song......and thats the way the artists made it. One good thing about this is a young person this day and age aknowlages great music...thats rare.....
