Okay but real talk, Barack was spittin with that T Bolt idea, boltbeam coverage is broken, and it would let lapras walk over other water types easily which it can't hit too well with it's other coverage moves. Surf(or Hydro Pump)/Ice Beam/T Bolt/ Psychic is the play, FACTS!

Ice Beam, Surf, Psychic and Sing. I know Sing doesn't have the best accuracy but, it's good to have a few non-damaging attacks within your party. My Lapras in the OG red version had Ice Beam, Surf, Solarbeam and sing. I do like Psychic over Solarbeam. Sing or Confuse Ray are good moves as well.

Yeah as if everyone doesn’t use a squad like this in every kanto play through.
I personally don't usually use Primeape, Snorlax nor Jolteon. Besides, I mostly pick Bulbasaur as a starter because grass covers the first 2 gems easily, also can do status to help catch wild pokemon easier. that means not everyone is using the same pokemons.

My usual playthrough:
- Venusaur.
- Pidgeot.
- magneton.
- Alakazam/Gengar.
- Machamp/Hitmonchan.
- Vaporeon/Lapras.

Barack getting hard over primeape is getting a bit redundant at this point. Regardless, this was fun to watch.
While they make a good point about oversaturating their team with one move, I still think it's worth considering adding Thunderbolt to Lapras's moveset to allow it to combat opposing Water-types. There's a reason why Thunderbolt/Ice Beam (or BoltBeam) is super useful, and it's doubly important for any Water-types that has access to that combo as well, since BoltBeam provides neutral coverage over everything in the game by itself. Surf/Hydro Pump and Psychic supplement it, allowing Lapras to hit everything for at least normal damage (including Chinchou/Lantern with Volt Absorb. Only Shedinja blocks it all with Wonderguard, but no NPCs have it).
If you really want to flex, run Surf/Ice Beam/Thunder/Rain Dance. This lets Lapras have a much stronger STAB Surf while making Thunder unmissable after using Rain Dance.
Man, of all the Pokémon that should have gotten Calm Mind but didn't, Lapras really stands out as something missing out on it.
thats dandy and all but i dont really see how often lapras runs into a water type match up? all these benefits seem to be predicated on a very limited/niche scenario. i do like the rain dance moveset but im just not sure if lapras is something you would want as an answer to opposing water types especially since jolteon can likely deal with them.

Yes but in gen 3 the elemental punch were special, and Hitmonchan is really bad in that.

Let’s go, loving this series, just had a quick request for the next series of either heartgold or emerald, could you try playing on set mode. Donald Barack and joe are already goated and facing almost no struggle. Even a change as simple as going from switch to set mode could make the game a little more difficult in the important battles like gyms. I would love to see the boys become even better trainers!
I think it's best to consider heavily editing this series down. It'll help keep the dialogue fresh because we're 15 parts in and it is getting a bit stale hearing a very similar script over and over again. And as a viewer, it is a bit boring to watch every battle. Skipping the repetitive battles and showing the important parts of the playthrough would be ideal

I think the presidents should play Heart Gold next because it's the sequel to this. It would also be good if they can get 60 Pokemon in their dex and do the postgame, since that has references to the Team Rocket from Johto and would set up the next playthrough.
