I was watching some of your old videos and it's amazing how much Abbie has learned and improved just in the last year. You guys are doing an awesome job supporting her!
Thank you for sharing your story my daughter was diagnosed recently aged 21yrs with autism sadly she has had a lifetime of difficulties resulting in suicide attempts i had years of being told her symptoms were behavioral and making me feel like an over protective parent it nearly destroyed our family luckily things are now starting to head in a much better direction if i think of the past and how we were treated it will destroy me i try to consentrate on the future and am hoping for a much brighter journey ahead 🌻
Have you connected to other parents in real life who also have children with autism. That can help you get ideas to help your daughter. (from someone on the spectrum)
TeamAutismpedia i have no idea where to start i feel like we'r all just trying to catch our breath at the moment its difficult to trust profesionals after our experience x
You do such an excellent job explaining stuff. My children were diagnosed 20 and 25 years ago and all this stuff you know now was not available. Psychiatrists evaluated the parents, not the kids. I was diagnosed as being "negative". Behaviors, we found, were sensory based, but only after years of guessing. My kids are non verbal so all the "shrinking" in the world did nothing for us. There is so much more good information now. My best to your whole family!
Just finished binge watching all the vlogs and I’m LOVING IT! It’s great to see into the world of this family and everything they go through every day. Very helpful to someone like me to know how to act when I see someone like Abbie out in public having a hard time. Awesome!
I am a new subscriber and have been binge watching all your videos. I don't know anyone who has autism, so watching these videos has been really interesting. I have learnt loads about autism just though these videos and think your family is amazing. Keep up the good work x
I just finished my first week as a behavior technician performing ABA therapy. I found this channel trying to learn more to give my clients the best treatment, and I appreciate your family sharing your autism journey. Abby seems so sweet! I hope your channel continues to grow!
Those treats must have been delicious. He was so overwhelmed he had to take a minute and collect himself. Now I really want Tim Tams.... Thanks for another fun and informative video💜💜💜💜
Love the vlogs and the decision to go to full-time family vloggers! The treat taste test vlogs are one of my favorite video styles and it was so enjoyable to watch your individual reactions! Thought you guys would be interested to know that Mavericks reaction to roll on his treats means that he thoroughly enjoyed and approved of his treats! Love you guys and keep up the good work!
You both are such an inspiration! I love how positive you are and how much you love Abigail. I work at a therapeutic boarding school that works with Asperger's and other non verbal learning disorders. I am the night watch supervisor and although my interactions with the students are limited I have grown to love them all so much. I also have a friend with a non verbal daughter (I don't know her exact diagnosis) and it's amazing how parents are able to learn the language of their child. I remember being the same with my son when he was younger and he didn't talk until he was 3, I knew what he was wanting, and could understand him with his non verbal cues. Anyway. Love you guys. Thank you for sharing your life and what real life is like with Abigail.
Omg my son who is the same age as Abbi and he always is asking for food. I just said yesterday to my husband.....food is running Connors life. It's amazing how many things we as autism parents have in common.
Was there a repeat performance if u gave him more of that treat? Usually we wonder what Abbie is thinking but I am SO curious what the pup must have thought in that moment. UNLESS....doggos often like to roll in stinky stuff, are you sure that shower did it's job? Poor Asa, don't let that hash tag keep going it needs to end here! Hey at least it was from your shop and not some stranger's. Makes u wonder why something like that would ever have a jacked up uneven concrete lid.
Abbie has the best clothes! She always looks amazing. I would love to raid her closet 😂 Oh and I used to take Seroquel and I would eat in the middle of the night and not even remember doing it. It definitely does make you hungry. Hopefully taking her off of it helps!
Hugged his treat. That 's so cute. When Macy Grace goes into the head down roll, she's usually found something that stinks. lol, No disrespect to the sender, you are wonderful to include the pupster.
I've been watching and you guys make it look easy but I know it's not always. I've just had to take my brother in who has downs and on the spectrum. He's older and I have to try and get on routine and trying. You guys do great and helps. I also have a son going of to college so congrats.
You are SO correct with regards to therapy at home and at school: consistency is KEY. Basically with ABA you are trying to ingrain habits into your child that should NOT be situational. You touched briefly on insurance matters determining what services are covered and in what setting and for new parents I feel you should explore this a little further. One thing that we came up against was that different specialties didn't mesh so well and we couldn't have two different therapists available simultaneously. For instance, we couldn't have an ABA therapist present during doctor's visits because our insurance considered them to be "double coverage" - even though they were two completely different types of therapy. We found that we NEEDED that extra pair of hands and eyes in order to endure the waiting room, or somebody who could redirect our son from task-evasionary behaviors during speech or occupational therapy. This was so cool to see sorta the family view of ABA and how ABA is done differently in other states or with each child. I work in a school for autism doing ABA. I work under a BCBA providing ABA to kids in our kindergarten program. I’ve never seen this kind of ABA or really much of the family’s point of view. Thank you for sharing this! I definitely subscribed.
Watching your vlogs I'm seriously thinking of changing to becoming an ABA therapist. I'm an older lady so yes I hav thought about it. I would be changing from social work.
Yay, Isaiah! What part his he playing in the musical? I was in The Addams Family Musical for our community theatre troupe last summer as Grandma Addams. It is a fun show! By the way, Abby under her blanket is the cutest thing ever!
I love watching your channel, my partner is autistic although he is what would have been called aspergers in the past. I just enjoy watching how awesome your family is and learning more about ABA and the world of autism because I am studying to be a social worker and I think that is the field I want to go into.
My dad used to terrify us about running where the septic tank was, telling us we could fall in... we never believed him but apparently he was correct! Glad it wasn’t me 💩👨🏼🔧
Seroquil made me eat like food was going out of style when I was taking it. I would literally eat in my sleep and wake up to wrappers everywhere in the morning. I know a few other people who have taken it, either at night or low dosage during the day and higher dosage at night like I was, and every person has said the same thing, that they would eat constantly to the point of rapid weight gain. When I stopped taking it, my eating habits returned to normal. I hope it helps Abigail too!
I love your videos my 2 year old daughter was just diagnosed with autism so watching your guys videos is really helping me as a mother with autism ❤️❤️
Was that a "I love it" from the dog after smelling it a long time then rub on it lololol.. WOW a beautiful nice chair!!! Sooo generous and heartfelt maybe she seen the video with a Abbey in that chair..I hope she uses it!!!
It was awesome that miss Brandy “jumped” at about the same time you did Asa during AB’s appointment-I think she seems to be really in tune with Abbie, and is able to read her almost as well as you and Priscilla do-she seems to be an awesome therapist!!
I'm going through some rough times with family.Thank you for allowing all of us to love your family and for me to feel as if I'm apart of a loving supportive family, :) although I love mine I cant say I get the same encouragement I feel from watching your family love you all hahaha poop boy, you two are so cute.
No matter what the age, talking about poop is hilarious lol! I recently discovered your channel through the recommendations from RUclips. My lil 1 and I love you all...a great combination of entertaining and informative. You guys are now 1 of my little 1's top favorite youtube channels, along with Ellen, Mirandasings, JoJosiwa, & Nerdynummies.
I have mental health issues and I used to be on geodon. I no longer take geodon because it just wasn’t working for me i take Wellbutrin and topamax I also take latuda. I have major depressive disorder and ocd, anxiety, bipolar, ptsd
Hay, I just found your channel yesterday and have bin watching some old vlog's. Love the love and respect you have for your girl. I'm a occupational therapist, doughtier of an autism specialist and a special needs mom (my darling girl has Downsyndroom). I also have a question. What app ore program dos Abby use on her ipad that show's all the pictures of activity's an food items? We are looking for something like that, as our girl is verbal bud behind in her speech. And she wants to tel us so much.
Does Abbie actually have recess? How does that work? Is it in the sensory room? How many kids at a time, and what's the ratio of teachers/paras to students?
I've noticed how Abby always fidgets with paper, clothing etc... I suppose it's therapeutic for her. So I was thinking.... I'm pretty sure that you can buy fabric swatches for cheap and she can fidget with them. All different types and textures and colors... I just thought I would share my idea I came up with while watching your vlogs 😜
Something you might start paying attention too is Abby's OCD tendencies and what she has eaten durring that day. 👍 I have Histamine Intolerance due to an Autoimmune Condition and there is correlation between Histamine and OCD. I personally experience mild OCD behavior when I eat a lot of high histamine foods. (Tomatos, Pickles, olives, etc) If Abby has existing food allergies already, it might really benefit her symptoms by managing her Histamine levels. 🤗 Regardless, you both are wonderful parents and I absolutely love watching your vlogs! 💖
Asa you are so lucky that only your leg fell into the septic tank it could always be worse. Around here a lot of the homes have wooden tanks and as the wood rots a small hole will appear in the lawn, I know of a few people who have fallen completely into a tank (up to their neck so just their head is showing on the lawn) and needed to be rescued by the fire department.
I just have love you guys! My husband and I don’t watch a lot of things together but we try to watch your videos together. Our daughter Abbie hasn’t gotten a diagnosis yet but we have an appt with the UNC teacch team in April. Sorry you stepped in poop Asa; the vlog turned out pooptastic anyway! 💩😂
Hi fathering autism. I am 22 and have pdd-nos, mood disorder nos, intermittent explosive disorder, pica, sensory processing disorder. I was on seroquel for 10years. Went off it a year ago. We have seen positive and negatives from me going off of it. We have seen more of the autism come out. I lost over 60lbs and off all sleeping medication. as parents you choose side effects or results. And we had to choose results. Keep up the great work with Abby.
I just order one of the gray shirts !!! I can’t wait to get it and rock it in honor of Abbie and my dear friend Kelly who are both beautiful girls that happen to have Autism .
I may have autism because my brother has it. I also have bi polar, anxiety and panic attacks. Also I’m on meds and so does my brother. Love 💕 your shows. It really helps me. I love ❤️ your daughter. She is so cute.
Seroquel did the same for me when I was taking it. I took it for a different reason, but that's also why I stopped taking it. I get why you guys would want to take her off it
Go Isiah. My son attends drama school on Sundays and loves it. He even performed on s west End Stage in London (that’s a big deal - bragging rights sorry). It’s super expensive and stretches the budget to breaking point but it’s worth it when I think about the social interaction and respite from being a care giver that he gets.
Mosk family my name is Jade and I’m 21 years old I had a stroke when I was in my moms stomach I have some anxiety tendencies and when I watch your videos I don’t have my emotional anxiety tendencies as often keep up for what you are doing for abbie
i took seroquel and it made me gain a lot of weight. a word of warning about geodon (idk how to spell it oops), when i took it i had a really bad time. i couldn't keep my eyes open and could hardly move i was so tired!
Hey guys! I look forward to your daily videos! Asa, do you think you could mention in the video description what camera(s) you used to shoot the video with? For example, the opening 2 minutes where you and Pricilla are talking has an amazing filter. Just curious as an aspiring vlogger.
Regarding medications, you touched briefly on side effects and compulsions. As parents, it's VERY important to keep an eye on anything out of the ordinary - ESPECIALLY if your child is nonverbal. Some medications may produce behavioral side effects that are associated with documented physical side effects. Some meds are documented to cause increased urination and appetite, which are noticeable and can be observed by a drastic increase in weight. OTOH sometimes other symptoms may crop up that can only be tracked by blood, urine or stool samples. As parents, we are the first line of therapy in ANY discipline. We may not be educated but (unless we ourselves are overextended or ailing from similar disorders) we do know our childrens' baseline behaviors and IMO it's our duty to our children to pass along concerns, request alternatives or in more extreme cases even second opinions. PS: one thing that has recently been brought back to my attention is that it's a good idea to have regular blood tests to determine which medication is a good fit based on genetics. It's hard as a parent to have to subject kids (who often cannot even tolerate getting their hair cut) but the behavioral methods for both can be similar. We went through a LOT of Smarties, Skittles and M&M's but IME pediatric nurses have gotten a LOT better along the 10 years since my son was first diagnosed! PPS: Sometimes it's just a matter of US not getting anxious around our kids. Even nonverbal kids can sense and take cues from others' behavior. This is why respite is so important.
That's so true things don't get better just different. I totally get it. Yea not a bad thing. Please keep updated on med i have daughter with aggressive behaviors. I just love ya all.
Watch the side effects of Geodon! I was on it for two months and was constantly ill and passing out. I would other vomit or pass out within one hour of taking it. I once fell off my porch and slammed my head into concrete. Please be viligant and get back to the doctor if you notice side effects.
On OCD, in Carley's case, she suffers from OCD now that she is older and she mentioned that it can be a side effect of the ABA therapy. Just have to figure out if the benefits out way the negatives.
I was watching some of your old videos and it's amazing how much Abbie has learned and improved just in the last year. You guys are doing an awesome job supporting her!
I feel in my heart Abby will talk one day, she is so precious. God bless ♡♡♡♡♡
God willing.

Not a you tuber nor do I understand a lot of film related but the b-roll was super smooth. Like it really made the transitions clear. Love you guys!😊

Abbie is adorbs! Her under the blanket is like the cutest!
It truly is!! I love when she covers up her head when she gets embarrassed lolol
When Asa said give it to Abbie I thought about the old commercials "Give it to Mikey he'll eat it!" 😂😂😂
Just finished binge watching all the vlogs and I’m LOVING IT! It’s great to see into the world of this family and everything they go through every day. Very helpful to someone like me to know how to act when I see someone like Abbie out in public having a hard time. Awesome!

Ive seen 8 psychiatrists since i was 12. Didnt like a single one lol. Hope you guys have much better experiences
I like that phrase “things don’t get better, they just get different”.... likewise they don’t get worse we just cope with it less so on those days.
Those treats must have been delicious. He was so overwhelmed he had to take a minute and collect himself. Now I really want Tim Tams....
Thanks for another fun and informative video💜💜💜💜

Brandi is so great. I'm training for my RBT and want to get my BCBA after that. Love watching her in the vlogs and her interact with Abbie.
Notifications on love you guys abby is doing so good 😊 love you guys
You both are such an inspiration! I love how positive you are and how much you love Abigail. I work at a therapeutic boarding school that works with Asperger's and other non verbal learning disorders. Beautiful family as always. Love love love you guys. Literally cannot stop watching.
Good editing today u guys did so much! The only thing I needed was about 4 replays of Mav hugging his treat....serious belly laughs there!
I love you Asa,Priscilla,Isaiah and of course Abby!❤️💚💙💞
Where do you print your awesome shirts? Also, love all your vlogs, thank you for sharing your lives with all of us youtube people :)
Lol your dog liked his treat. He hugged it.
I know that it varies by state but there are roadblocks that can interfere with approval of coverage for some services and OTOH there may also be loopholes that are specific to your child (such as multiple diagnoses besides autism spectrum disorder) that can be avenues to acquire services and even find additional funding through grants and waivers.
As far as offering input to each other though we had to make sure that there were signed releases so that they could share information and discussions happened mostly during interservice treatment planning meetings (that usually happened at the school during school hours and never at home.)
It can be pretty daunting, but it's VERY important to have a service coordinator on hand to keep these things all working, both independently and collaboratively. It's also a good idea to subscribe to different advocacy groups such as Autism Speaks (which is national but there are various different tiers of advocacy at both the state and county levels.)
My high school did Addams family it was a great way to end my senior year! It’s a really fun musical
I love watching your videos. Thank you so much for the videos. My daughter was diagnosed with a very where genetic disorder called FoxP1. And autism, OCD, ADHD. She is always happy. She loves to clap a lot especially when she’s very happy. I never thought about it until I started watching your videos that she is stemming. She loves to swing. I wish we could meet y’all. I love you Moss family.

I just enjoy watching how awesome your family is and learning more about ABA and the world of autism because I am studying to be a social worker and I think that is the field I want to go into.
Hey, I'm on the short squad too! Short people for the win (:
Hahahaaaa ditto
Seroquel is definitely a huge appetite increaser. I take it specifically for that reason as I've been having low appetite lately.
Great video always learning more with you guys love u r shirts.
My dad used to terrify us about running where the septic tank was, telling us we could fall in... we never believed him but apparently he was correct! Glad it wasn’t me 💩👨🏼🔧
I love you guys!! Abbie is so cute!!
So good they switched her from seroquel to geodon! Seroquel is know to increase appetite.
Liz Cop really?? It doesn’t do much for my old adults.
I remember one of my friends got put on Seroquel in the mental hospital and she said the same thing.
Asa you are awesome you share the worst parts of your day with ease love it
I’m from New York, but I’ve eaten Tim tams. They are so good!!! Love your family, hope to send some fan mail soon.
Seroquil made me eat like food was going out of style when I was taking it. I would literally eat in my sleep and wake up to wrappers everywhere in the morning. I was on Seroquil for a bit until I started to falling out of my wheelchair. So that ended fast and thankfully no serious injuries.
Sushi Go is my favorite card game! I absolutely love the little faces on the dishes. ☺️
I've been catching up with all the 'Classic Maass Squad Vlogs' and I really like the 'That 70's Show-esque' editing of the mail time vlogs.
It was awesome that miss Brandy “jumped” at about the same time you did Asa during AB’s appointment-I think she seems to be really in tune with Abbie, and is able to read her almost as well as you and Priscilla do-she seems to be an awesome therapist!!

ABSOLUTELY!

Priscilla, you have really started something now. :) ♥
I totally get it, it does get different!!

Oh goodness Asa are you alright? Good thing you did not break your leg stepping in the hole. Much love from the state of Virginia
Are you guys going to have "I'm so Excited" shirts in men's? I really want one in the men's style. Please? I love you guys!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m an Aussie and Violet crumble is honeycomb with chocolate covering!!!
I've noticed how Abby always fidgets with paper, clothing etc... I suppose it's therapeutic for her. So I was thinking.... Natalie W That sounds like a good addition to her sensory room.
I'm an adult with autism I still get some same help as when I was a child

I gained 100lbs on seroquel! I wish my doc had been as willing to change meds. Great job mom and dad and Brandi for advocating for sweet abbey!
Violet crumble is honey combe and Cherry ripes are my fav choc bar!
Thank-you for showing us all about your day Abby is as cute as she can be i love all your family💙💙💙
Ugh, the last two uploads didn’t notify me!!! I guess that I just get to catch up with TWO amazing videos! ☺️
I recognised the Aus post box with the million stamps straight away lol Hope yous are all doing well! x

That shirt magic... love it! 😄
I may have autism because my brother has it. I also have bi polar, anxiety and panic attacks. Also I’m on meds and so does my brother. Love 💕 your shows. It really helps me. I love ❤️ your daughter. She is so cute.
Maverick’s reaction to the dog treats was hilarious! 😂
Are you still selling shirts? If so what colors do you have? If you do another shirt it would be cool with the puzzle piece ribbon on it.
It’s super expensive and stretches the budget to breaking point but it’s worth it when I think about the social interaction and respite from being a care giver that he gets.
the addams family musical is so good!
Mosk family my name is Jade and I’m 21 years old I had a stroke when I was in my moms stomach I have some anxiety tendencies and when I watch your videos I don’t have my emotional anxiety tendencies as often keep up for what you are doing for abbie
I have servere ADHD I had the same issue with my appetite before diagnosed at 8
i took seroquel and it made me gain a lot of weight. a word of warning about geodon (idk how to spell it oops), when i took it i had a really bad time. i couldn't keep my eyes open and could hardly move i was so tired!
Abbie took it for the first time last night and was awake at 3am. 😳
FatheringAutism ohhhhhh abbie 🙄🙄🙄😂
Hey guys! I look forward to your daily videos! Asa, do you think you could mention in the video description what camera(s) you used to shoot the video with? For example, the opening 2 minutes where you and Pricilla are talking has an amazing filter. Just curious as an aspiring vlogger.
Ab is only 5'1?! Omg she looks so much taller in the videos! Precious
Am from Australia with the tim tam nices with hot chocolate or milk or coffee.
That's so funny to see your dog rolling around on the treats. lol. My dog used to roll around on bird poop during walks :/
I LOVE how open y’all are about everything!
Asa! So sorry that ur new nickname is so catchy 💩 hahaha (silla- it’s mostly funny because you found it so funny 😂) you guys are the best!
Hi from Australia it's funny watching you guys trying Australian snacks as I am from Australia myself
What size shirt does abbie wear
One unlike feel sorry for ya! HEY Abbie xxxx P.S Priscilla your hair is beautiful the style really suits you xxx
Watch the side effects of Geodon! I was on it for two months and was constantly ill and passing out. I would other vomit or pass out within one hour of taking it. I once fell off my porch and slammed my head into concrete. Please be viligant and get back to the doctor if you notice side effects.
Omg i want a shirt!!!!!
On OCD, in Carley's case, she suffers from OCD now that she is older and she mentioned that it can be a side effect of the ABA therapy. Just have to figure out if the benefits out way the negatives.
Lots of love to the Maass family ❤
