The Brave and the Bold is an upcoming superhero film, based on the DC Comics superheroes, Batman and Robin. It will be an installment of the Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in the DC Universe.

Ever since DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran announced that a new version of Batman would be introduced in The Brave and the Bold, fans have been wondering who will be the next actor to suit up as the Dark Knight. One person that fans have been hoping to see is Jensen Ackles. Ackles is well-known for playing Dean Winchester in The CW's Supernatural and Soldier Boy in The Boys.
Although fans will have to wait and see if Ackles will play the character in live action, he is one of the current actors to voice Batman in animation. Ackles has voiced the Dark Knight in several DC Universe animated movies. He began voicing the character in the two-part film Batman: The Long Halloween. All of the films featuring Ackles' version of Batman are set in the Tomorrowverse, a shared DC Universe that began with Superman: Man of Tomorrow. Before playing Batman, Ackles voiced Jason Todd/Red Hood in the 2010 animated film Batman: Under the Red Hood.
As part of the DCU’s Chapter One Gods and Monsters, James Gunn is set to undertake a largely fresh “reboot” of the former DCEU. Currently, most of the information revolves around the DCU’s first installment Superman: Legacy. which Gunn authored (and seemingly completed) just before the onset of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike that has affected Hollywood. So far, the only thing potential audiences and fans know about the project is actor David Corenswet will play the lead role of Superman/Clark Kent.
Departing from Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Batman during the Zack Snyder Justice League era, the more recent Matt Reeves-directed The Batman (2022) starring Robert Pattinson, and even Michael Keaton’s rendition in The Flash (2023), Gunn has openly discussed how the upcoming Batman reboot, currently titled The Brave and the Bold, will take a different approach. The new story will center on Batman and his actual biological son, Damian Wayne, offering a fresh perspective on the iconic character.

Awesome. Jensen Ackles actually comes from someone who has been in the studio with Kevin Conroy. He was the Red Hood/Jason Todd in the killing Joke. He watched and learned from the man. I have such HIGH hopes that Jensen will be the Batman I've been waiting for.
Jensen Ackles actually is the voice actor for Batman in the newer animations so he is not out of place to play the dark knight live action version, in fact I expected him to be the batman over Patterson's.

The Batman we didn’t know we needed but lowkey always wanted. Honestly his whole personality screams Batman, I’m not sure why DC hasn’t casted him yet. I can definitely see him being remembered as one of the best Batmans next to Christian Bale 🤔

Oh I want this so bad! He has everything you would hope to see in a Batman. He has rhe experience doing the fight scenes, and stunt driving under his belt, he has the true acting skilks to give us a dramatic Batman both dark and and with enough grit to sell it, he has the emotional range to show the more emitional side of Batman, he can bring in the laughs if thats how its written and he will come with a pre existing fan base from Supernatural that will be in theaters on day one][[ He was born to play this part! Also one more fact that makes him perfect fot this role... Jenson will definately fill every inch of that Batsuit and have all of the ladies in love with him. Damn he'd be hot and would be a very very very good choice for any director to cast! But I really need to see him do this. I can not think of a better choice to play Batman!

He should be red hood in live action movie. He played him in animated. Yeah he’s not robin aged but they can make something up he aged cause of pit gone wrong. Or maybe shows up after years being hidden. Great emotion to character. I felt it when he told Bruce how much it hurt that he left joker alive after what he did to him.

For someone who watched all of the Supernatural series either one of the two would have been a great choice for this movie. While I am sick of Batman remakes I do believe I will give this one a chance because Jensen is awesome. That last Batman movie to me was a bore feast

I think Ackles has the potential to surpass the Christian Bale Batman. I watched every episode of Supernatural, even the crazy ones at the end. 🙂 Ackles can do dark, gritty, brooding and gruff very very well. In fact to play an awesome Batman he would only really need to alter his Dean Winchester character slightly. He wears a suit well as seen in Supernatural when they impersonated FBI agents and can do the boardroom scenes and stuff that might be necessary for Bruce Wayne. I vote Ackles on both Bruce Wayne and Batman.
Some actors make a great Bruce Wayne but not so great a Batman. Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Ben Aflek and Val Kilmer all kinda had this issue but Keaton and even Aflek (except Aflek wasn't dark and brooding enough) did respectable jobs as Batman despite Keaton really being too short for the role. Christian Bale was an awesome Batman and Bruce Wayne.
Ackles pretty much has it all the way around though. He is physically fit and could easily buff up just a little bit more, he can pull off the professional look and mood for a great Bruce Wayne and the Dark and Brooding for Batman, toss in a little more martial arts either through training or good choreography and you have yourself possibly the best Batman we have ever had.
Oh yeah he'll have to swap out the Impala for a Batmobile for a while but I don't think he'll have a problem with that. 😁
