I still have glimpse of memory but one thing i saw that the priest at the front of the temple was pounding the head of pilgrims with a stick. But when i got hit, & upon asking the reason for this action, he simply replied, it's a symbol of blessing. Then several years later i found that jagannath temple is very different & strictly prohibited for non Hindus but Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs are allowed to visit. As far as JAN family is concerned, all three children can be allowed but i have suspicious feeling for their mother. She can be permitted if she admits that she's a devoted hindu. We have to remember that even Indira gandhi was not permitted to enter the temple at the peak of her power because she had married a non hindu man
