    With a sheath these are currently around $200 to land in Australia ( if customs dont confiscated them ) our $ is so weak atm 😢 for context -
    "Average" wage here atm around $800-1000 a week - groceries for family of 4 $450 😅😅😅 i bought a 240 & 85 dome time ago - love them, but wanting to add a 110 to my light bushbag i have a garburg in stainless - think its great but the handle standard is not comfortable without mods or gloves

    I've had (and still have) a few high end, very expensive knives. This one is a quarter of the price or so, and can do everything just as good. I buyed this one and the Skrama 240, and i take just them out with me since i have them. Indestructible, holds an edge for a long time, and with a little care you get rid of the rust as well.

      Yes,use frog lube,it's a lotion for the steel, biodegradable and nontoxic for food prep knives,I just wipe down my blade before using an wash knife off afterwards,then if I store it,just reapply some frog lube and I'm good to go,helps protect them in wet environments an from rusting

    This is my favorite knife with the 140 coming in a close second. Great steel (carbon 80crv2), comfortable handle and it just works for me. Back when I got mine it was $42.43 CAD (about $32 USD) and a few dollars shipping. I didn't get it with the sheath because back when I got it, they only had right-handed sheaths and I'm a lefty. The Skrama is the beast of the bunch. same steel, but it's a big knife, like a machete but thicker. (Blade length is almost 9 1/2") All the Terävä blades are made to last and even at the prices now, still fit in the budget category for what they are.

      Where did you get yours that cheap? Im in ontario and it seems like the only place to get it is from their own website.

    • @randyyeager
      @randyyeager Год назад +1

      @@RagingOatmeal they raised the prices in the last 3 or 4 years. I've had mine for a long time. The only place I know of is their website. I'm pretty sure they don't sell it anywhere else. I got it without a sheath because back then they didn't have a left handed sheath for it, which drops the price. Shipping used to be $14 to Canada for your whole order, no matter how many items you ordered. when I bought my 110, I also bought the 140 and the skrama, plus 4 or 5 other items to save on shipping, so shipping worked out to be $2 or less per item. When I bought mine, I got kydex sheaths made, cost me about $60 each shipped from the states to Canada so, the knife was a great deal, but the sheaths kinda negated that deal.

    • @RagingOatmeal
      @RagingOatmeal Год назад

      @@randyyeager yea thats kinda what I see. Sheath is marginally cheaper than the knife itself on the order. Did you pay any duties or extra import/export fees?

    • @randyyeager
      @randyyeager Год назад +1

      @@RagingOatmeal for the skrama I just use the plastic sleeve it comes with and put the sleeve in an open bottom MOLLE nylon scabbard I found on ebay. If I was to buy them today, I'd go with the boltaron sheaths. I like leather and it's cheaper, but kydex is much easier to deal with. no real maintenance, just rinse it out and wipe it down. For the price, even where the price is now, these knives are a great deal. 80CRV2 is great steel. pretty much indestructible. Dutch bushcraft knives shot it with a 22, didn't barley leave a mark. Most blades they shot either chipped or broke altogether. imo these knives are worth $120 CAD plus shipping.

The 85 nice for skinning the hide of a moose or a deer, the 110 fine for skinning also and other camp use. What’s better the 110 or the 140 ? I was thinking of getting the skrama and the 110. My thinking is the big chopper and the 110 for fine work. But then I wonder if the 85 is a better option. I already have a Garberg which I love. An I have a BPS adventurer. Maybe all I need is the skrama.
    Normally I would just buy all of them. But I’m putting together my van. My wife and I are going on a 1 to 2 year trip around every state park. So I’m trying to get the most useful. I usually don’t buy a knife unless it’s good at more then one thing. I’m a fisherman and camper I bow hunt but not so much.

      If I can only choose one, i’ll take the 110. Shame that they don’t offer a cheap plastic sheath option for the 110 though..
