  • A quick look at the Ridgeway run on the Uncompahgre River in Colorado.
This is one of our favorite river runs in the area. Fun white water with a beautiful back drop of the San Juan Mountains in the distance.
Even though it is a very short trip it is worth it.
Remember to respect private property along the river.
This is a Class II to III run. The video was shot at approximately 400 CFS.
Special thanks to the folks at Montrose Kayak and Surf for all their help.

Looks super fun and cool, and no smoke in sight!!! Informative, and those parks are cool too. I loved Dennis Weaver when you took us there that January, very nice. Thanks!

is First, Thanks for sharing Dana. I love the Rivers here in MO. Ozark National Scenic Riverways ~ Ozark National Scenic Riverways is the first national park area to protect a river system. The Current and Jacks Fork rivers are two of the finest floating rivers you'll find anywhere. Spring-fed, cold and clear they are a delight to canoe, swim, boat or fish. Besides these two famous rivers, the park is home to hundreds of freshwater springs, caves, trails and historic sites such as Alley Mill.

It looks like you were definitely a lot cooler on the river right now than you would be out walking the mesa right now 😜

Are there actually Class III rapids (on a Class I-V scale) on the stretch? Thanks

I don't think so. Maybe 2+ depending on water level. Only a couple places at that.
