Good advise. Thanks.
Those O rings are tiny.
What is also important to note is that there are two types of spools. Make sure you get the right one for your SPG!
There are plus long and short of each. So many different parts even today.

thank you sharing how to clean such things.❤
Welcome 😊

Good stuff Alec! Thank you sir! Any dive plans this summer?
Not really. May keep a tank around to breath off due to all the forest fire smoke this week.
A
The smoke is horrible here on the us side of the river also. I'll be glad while they're able to get them put out. Hopefully this rain will help.
Oring is a developpement that is so useful in any fluid circuit, pneumatic, hydraulic , they are often used as tolerance rings where the precision of fits is not mandatory.
For sure replacing such small orings asks for skill .
Very good topic.
Thank you Jacques.

I've got a wrench that fits the two nuts you pointed out, but what are we supposed to do with the nut in the blue shirt of this video?
I suggest that if you can find a wrench to fit it, use it. My wife would love one!!
Alec
Hi Alec You forgot to mention when the little pic slips off the spool and punctures the end of your finger. Ouch!
take care Owen m
Kevin tried to cover that up. They are really hard to get off.
A
Good one Alex...a new spool costs a few dollars so like you say, splurge and buy one instead of replacing the o-rings 😂
Pretty much!

Is the OCA-Lube the same as Christo-Lube? I only use Christo-Lube on all of our Nitrox and our regular diving gear as well. What do u think Mr. Peirce ?
Yes. Christo-Lube is a brand name for an OCA or oxygen-use lubricant. There are others.
You are good using Christo.
Alec
I keep a couple of fresh spools on hand so I can quickly replace it, but then I replace the o-rings at my leisure at home. The dive boat isn't the place to try to deal with those tiny things.
Good idea. Replacing tiny o-rings on a trip is not my idea of fun.

Very cool, I might not have failed English class 2 times if you were my teacher, 3rd year I dropped out 1st day of class , teachers I had didn't give 2 shits, even still I averaged a C or less in all classes
My time as a high school science teacher was not wasted. Over the years several student have come up to me saying how fun my classes were (but not easy). Not with todays kids!

👍😎🤿!
