Can’t wait for the Sonic Expanded documentary! While I didn’t work on S2E, I did work on Sonic 1 Expanded and CD Expanded while those were around, and I can definitely say that was… well… not a fun time. Juggling those two and SA2D with school and a whole bunch of other crap was rather difficult. In all seriousness, I still remember quite a bit from working on those, so if you want to make a video about them feel free to contact me… somehow.
I noticed that you used iMovie to produce this video. Gotta say, it’s good. I played most of the Sonic games you featured. None of them were my favorite, unfortunately, but I did liked them. None were perfect since most of them we’re as ambitious as I thought. They all could use more presentations to fully stand out, but you know, it’s Scratch.
Speedy the biggest flex in here is the amount of sonic games you have, my favorite sonic game!!! Mario Maker For 3DS!!!! (Yes I know amiibo support exists)
The impact of Scratch 3.0 to older projects is something I'm still pretty salty about. One of my most popular games (Coin Dash Special, a remix pseudo-sequel to Griffpatch's Coin Dash that's based on the obscure game Super Mario Bros. Special) still has a weird bug where the boulder enemy will fall through the floor once it goes off screen and you follow it, which does not happen in Scratch 2.0. I still have no idea why it happens and so I've never been able to fix it. I've tried re-porting the Scratch 2.0 version into Scratch 3.0 to see if it would fix it (since I saved all my Scratch 2.0 versions of my projects before 3.0 released, specifically because I knew crap like this would happen based on the beta they let people try out, everything I tried in the beta had issues and none of the issues I found with Beta 3.0 were fixed in the final release because of course they weren't -_-), but while other issues it had at 3.0's launch were fixed over time as 3.0 was updated, this one issue still remains no matter what. Almost all my other platformers also had and still would have issues, but their issues were minor enough that they were easy to change, but this specific bug has still eluded me years later. I wonder if it's somehow the same or a similar issue as the one behind the bad collision glitches in Genesis Sonic Engine in 3.0.
Seems less like a video on scratch sonic games and more of a buildup to a documentary on s2 hd. Surprising considering a lot of progress has been made outside of gse with delta framework and even hogwash.
I was going to cover Delta framework before the video started glitching in iMovie. I’m most likely going to make a sequel eventually. May I ask though, what’s Hogwash?
@@ChaiDeluxeAh, hogwash is my own sonic engine. It was in friendly competition with delta with the goal being genesis accuracy and level building (it has a level editor). Me and bunnynightfan(pullmehair) were both trying to promote our engines to fan games at the time and hogwash was going to be the main engine for S3E (not associated with SKE) but that project died off before i could release it in a solid state. I don't mean to self promote of course. There's just a lot a rich history to the engine.
Hey, cool video. If you ever do this again could you check out a Scratch game called Sonic Dungeons? It’s a fully completed game that took about 2 years to finish.
STOP WATCHING THIS PLEASE GO WATCH THE NEW ONE IT'S TEN TIMES BETTER ruclips.net/video/eB5PZwD4y4A/видео.html&ab_channel=SpeedyIsRandom
Gonna be honest, thus is a really well made video
You knocked it out of the park with this newer style
I think the well made youtube video is a bigger flex then all the sonic games in the intro.
That scene was recorded a month ago now. That collection has grown lol.
@@ChaiDeluxe bro. h o w.
This is my first video to reach 1,000 views!

I worked on Sonic 3 HD, also got cancelled, looking back it SUCKED, don’t know why it got popular, and uhhh yeah…
I remember back when the S2E team made the stupid idea of merging S1E with S2E to make both games at once. Worst move we had ever done.
Oh god I remember that. -SPM

It's seriously a problem. I've gained atleast 5 more since recording this video.
Great video! You should make a video about Sonic Dungeons next, I'm sure you'd find it interesting ^^
There was an entire remake of Sonic The Hedgehog (1991) on scratch. It kind of sucks though...

Hey Speedy, just wondering, but could you share the widescreen remake of S2E in it's current state on Scratch?
I'd totally be interested in a video talking about the history of Expanded.
Hello fellow scratchers! Nice vid !

Speedy what about ages teams sonic 2 expanded 0.9
Why did he call Scratch, "HTML5"?
Scratch is based off the coding language HTML5. It was added just to stand out from other generic Sonic videos.
I want you to play my game
