The simple rhythm structure of his own composition lends itself to his dazzling pyrotechnics. See the version he played at the Monterey Pop Festival 1967
Specially so, because Panchamse Giara is Pt. Ravi Shankar's own composition, therefore neither U.Vilayat Khan nor Pt.Nikhil Banerjee ever even attempted to play it.
@@sathyasaibaba1000 Nikhil Babu played Giara and perhaps he also played his own version of the Raga, just as he did with many other Ragas belonging to the Maihar Gharana artists. Just as he also played Monomanjari and claimed it to be his composition but it is Pt.Ravi Shankar's as a matter of fact.

Great video ! I am a beginner, so I ask these questions: It seems Pandit Mr Shankar was at the height of his powers, here ?- his expression of the melody is so nicely controlled. The harmony (the chord played at 2.44-2.45) seems to be a highly extended poly-chord, which from ear is something like A11.. or Gmaj13/A or something similar... can anyone tell me..? Also, some of the melody notes, and of course the microtonal bends, are not obviously in the harmony... what is the scale he adapts at the beginning..? Respectfully listening... peace and thanks for posting
1st of all they both have different styles... pt.ravi ji is from maiher gharana while ud vilayat khan saheb is from imdadkhani style. its like saying bullcrap
Yes Your questions shows you are begainer! I don't know how far I can satisfy you, in fact at this age he was at his best position. This is what you can tell "manifestation of total music", yes grammar are there but not bounded ,where feelings takes the flight. Generally he is to play at B flat scale, but again changes with mood also, here, he playedsa,at the pa,that's the buity.More over,it is fused with, kirtan & folks from Bengal in a very cleaver manner. There lies his skill. I think all the answers can not be in analytical form, best is you enjoy, that's all. No more, today Thsnks
It seems when you luckily entered the realm of this globe, you weren't fortunate enough also to have been born with at least some some musical hearing... But no problem, you can still enjoy disco-music or other noises...
i know why you are saying this..there are some loosers who grade musicians..like he was better than him..he was overrated..like you can do it better than them..looser

are world famous maestro.
What a wonderful rendition by the Master of the Sitar !!
No one can Play the "Pancham Se Gara", better than Pandit Ravi Shankar. Not even Ustad Vilayat Khan or Pandit Nikhil Banerjee.
Specially so, because Panchamse Giara is Pt. Ravi Shankar's own composition, therefore neither U.Vilayat Khan nor Pt.Nikhil Banerjee ever even attempted to play it.
Agni Parvata, Pandit Nikhil Banerjee did played it, but he just couldn't match with the calibre of Pandit Ravi Shankar

Pancham Se Giara is Panditji's own composition. U.Vilayat Khan never played it...

He was the god father of Indian music
Harmony of celestial spheres! It makes to feel like music is everywhere in cosmos.
How beautifully you've explained it in few words, liked it, yeah, it seems like that!

Recitals like this remind you how over rated Ravi Shankar is as a musician.
It seems when you luckily entered the realm of this globe, you weren't fortunate enough also to have been born with at least some some musical hearing... But no problem, you can still enjoy disco-music or other noises...
What utter crap ....deserves to be ignored !!
Look his 1967 Montreal usa performance that how your dads who gave u hip hop rap type disco distorting music enjoying his music.....
are you born looser or grown up to be one?
