Hello, when You are elaborating on the severeal possibilities of factoring the prime number 17, You are using the precondition that a and b are Natural numbers, but You didn't mention this precondition at the start. This is not a good example for mathematical argumentation in my opinion. Best regards.
Hallo, sorry, I do not understand. Please elaborate how You get from (2b+1)(2a+1) = 17 bzw. (2b+1) = 17/(2a+1) to 0,5 (2a+1) =34 ? In general, if You habe one equation with two unkwnons, You cannot get to a unique solution with one number without making any other assumptions. Best regards
Thank for your help

答案不只這些
(2b+1)(2a+1) = 17 也可能是 (2b+1) = 0.5 (2a+1) =34 那答案就不一樣了
Hallo,

(2b+1) = 17/(2a+1)
to
0,5 (2a+1) =34 ?

(2b+1)(2a+1) = 17
(2b+1) = 0.5 (2a+1) =34 { 0.5 x 34 = 17 }
b= -0.25 a= 16.5 a+b=16.25 ....
There are many different answers....
@@brucehuang7704 There is an infinite number of answers, as long as there is no second condition to be fulfilled.
