When we had X = 1+ Log10/log3, this would be X= 1+ log10(base3). Therefore 3.3^log10(base3)= 3.10. As we have this twixe, we can do 2.3.10=60.

From someone who never even took algebra going through school in the 80's. What would be a practical application of this in a real world situation?

Who in their right mind would love this problem using base 5 logs??? What a complete waste of time.

Couldn't you put in a few more steps????? What is the point? You can do the problem in 3 steps. Anyone who already knows logs does not require all these steps and I'd you don't know logs the steps won't help.

Shorter: log zur Basis2: (x-1) *3 ,= log (3^2*2) = 2log 3 +1 therefore X = 1/3( 4+ 2 log 3)

This problem can be solved in just 4 steps: x = (8 + log (base 2) 5) / 3
