Grabbing food / fruit with their hands because the tongs are not ergonomic enough for their use. Saw an elderly lady try to pick up fruit but they keep slipping out the tongs so she put it down and grabbed the fruit with her hand in front of the attendant that did not change out the dish 🤮

I love your videos which I recently discovered because you are so down to earth. You also seem to be very realistic about how cruising is NOW and not a lot of time lamenting the way it used to be. Thanks for good content. Just subscribed!
The reason we should wash our hands is that there are many issues transmitted mostly from hand to mouth, like Norovirus. Covid is mostly spread by aerosols and hand washing is not as beneficial, which is why masks in risky conditions are recommended. But back to hand washing: you need to hand wash AFTER touching the utensils to maximize safety. On our upcoming cruise, we plan on wearing masks into the buffet and washing our hands before and after. Then we will take our food outside to enjoy, weather permitting. If not, we will look for a nice, airy position.

I liked the point of going to the buffet and bringing food back to your cabin. So, do you just fill up a plate and walk it to your room? Do they have to-go boxes or something to make it safer to walk back to you room with buffet food than an open plate that could easily end up on the floor? Just curious how people have done this in the past. Sometimes I just want to have pizza in my room but don't want to pay for room service. However, I've never thought to just bring it back to the room from the buffet. And I don't recall seeing other people walking around with plates of food either. I am so intrigued, how is this accomplished?

@@pennywayne7223 Yes, we just fill up a plate and take it back to the room. I’ve never seen them have any to go boxes. In the dining room, if we ask for something to go, they will usually put a plate cover on it. I’m not sure if the buffet has any of those. Maybe something to ask. We do see people regularly in elevators with plates of food, especially pizza - that we do see all the time.
