Beau said it best: When someone shows you who they are, believe them. There may be extenuating circumstances for any individual failure, but repeated failures show a pattern.
I remember attending a “choices” seminar years ago where through various exercises, I learned that while events in your life may sometimes be out of your control, the way you react to them never is…
Wrong. Musk is a LEGAL immigrant. Must we be so allergic to the truth? And Musk is working for Trump, not doing his job. Stop spewing the propaganda of the MSM. It's unbecoming.
The line from Horton The Who says it best, "I said what I meant and I meant what I said". That is something I repeated to my kids so they could walk that narrow path.
It's critical that we remember the working class. Most crimes are done because the desperate situation of people. We have the opportunity to devide and destroy or be human and have policy for the working class. Let's be honest the church hasn't made it any easier. The religious people who killed Jesus because of greed and power. Nothing has changed.
Thanks Rev Ed..Its about Integrity they had a Bill from both sides then Emperor Musk says he don't Like the Bill like he's giving the orders...Also the Democrats actually help both McCarthy and Johnson get stuff done...This Bill has massive relief package for Disasters look at Hurricane Helene and other really important stuff.. Thanks your spot on.. God Bless 🕊️
I very much resent this unelected immigrant Elon Musk trying to run our government. He has threatened Republican lawmakers that if they don't vote for what Trump wants, he will spend his money on getting a primary opponent to defeat them.
The two things which make this situation SO MUCH WORSE are that: 1. Congress and the President are two separate but equal branches of government. Congress has as much power as the President according to our Constitutuin. 2. Johnson capitulated to someone who is not yet even in charge of a branch of government. Obviously Musk is not President, (he is unqualified to be President, as an immigrant, according to our Constitution,) but Trump is also not in charge of a branch of government because he has not yet been inaugurated. Biden is President. Biden had to sign the bill. Johnson broke his word for two people who had and continue to have no power in government yet.
And we have found out the original bill prohibited investing in China for A-1 and other computer innovations as they are to stay in America. Musk is building factories in China to do just that. So of course he couldn't let the bill pass. Ironically, both he and Trump knew what was in the bill. Also, Trump then tried to pass the raising the debt limit to Biden, who was smart enough to not get caught.
Rev Ed, I loved hearing you bring up Prov. 11 - I actually analyzed that particular one in an article I published last year in terms of the way the translations changed during the early modern period. Very happy just to hear it mentioned. ✌️
Yes, I wholeheartedly agree, our word is our currency. If we have to change or mind about something we said, we must do our best to repair any harm done by our inability to follow through. We are only human. But I don’t think it’s useful to look at politicians in general as role models. There are exceptions, certainly. But in general it’s hardly unusual for politicians to go back on their word. But it’s rare for any one of them doing that to offer an explanation or give redress for any harm done. But we as individual citizens, can do better. At least I hope we can.
I agree, if we say we'll do something, we should do it. All too often, when my wife would ask me if I'd do something, intellectually I was agree that doing it would probably be a good idea, but then I failed to give it any priority in my actions, it would slip thru the cracks, and she would naturally be disappointed. They weren't big things, just a get this or empty the trash or whatever, but I eventually learned to actually spend a moment thinking about when I would do it, or if I was really willing to, was I willing to commit my time to it? Then I now answer with an estimate of when I would do it, and then I prioritize it and it gets done. Taking this one step further, generally for routine things, but even for the atypical tasks, I took someone else's suggestion, to *manage her expectations,* and tell her what I was about to do, to let her know what to expect. It's so simple, and yet so powerful... I can't believe it took me 70 years to learn it.
Amen. I sincerely hope no one is surprised by Johnson's slide. It's been the norm from day one. Ever since I heard Bruce Nelson's song about Johnson's new nickname, I can't unhear it. While a bit crude, it's spot on. And no, Johnson has never had integrity.
Jesus life conveys one certainty, no matter how forbidding the outlook, empathy remains the most powerful force in creation. Thoughts & understandings will rise with the preferred choice of unity versus hatred of others choices, with faith that unity can still prevail. He taught to be kind and help mend the broken spirits of present times, with hopes that the people meeting trying to understand rather than attacking others for their beliefs and traditions.
It was a relief that with the 3rd try, Congress got the funding bill passed with some adjustments. I didn't want to see the harm to government employees not getting paid especially during the Christmas Season. Mike Johnson now has 2 bosses, Trump and Elon Musk. I resent this unelected immigrant trying to have so much power in this country! I'm actually very concerned. It seems it's a Co-Presidency.
"Your currency is your word." Yes, though it seems to not matter. But Jesus was very clear about letting your yes be yes and your no, be no. He also told us not to swear. The people who have to swear are those who usually break their word, so have to swear that this time they are telling the truth. Integrity.....
A lot of people are very concerned about Musk. His biographer has written a lot in the last few weeks. It seems Musk has the dream to be the world's first trillionaire. (See he and his mother's comments on working people and homeless etc.) He also has close links to Putin (whose long term desire is to breakup Europe; re-establish the Russian Empire and destablise democracies). Also something (way above my pay grade!) about his aim to break the economy; remove the US dollar as underlying the Financial system and increase cryptocoin - in which he and Peter Thiel (JD Vance's sponsor and mentor) have financial interest. Add Musk wanting to fund Farage in the UK. He also tweeted support for the far-right neo-Nazi party in Germany in the last few days. (Add to the mix - Ketamine abuse.)
Rev Ed Trevors, this is a man of God from Texas and his feelings on Trump..You remind me of him............ruclips.net/video/_8xYS-XweLo/видео.htmlsi=O2JdSUCQMCh9KXv8
Mike Johnson already promissed Congress that he would not do last minute spending bills. He broke his word doing this bill. So which broken promise do you care about? My guess is that his earlier promise means nothing to you.
@libbycollins9349 It was dropped on the full Congress in the last minute, right before Christmas break. There was not even time to read 1500+ pages. The negotiations, whatever they were, was between 4 leaders, 2 were Senators, as I heard it.
@@K.L.M.Online I have heard Congress complain about the process and the way it worked was that a handful (tiny number) crafted the bill in secret. Then the bill was sent to the full Congress I think around 72 hours before a vote was scheduled, without debate, without amendments. Congress was given no choice but a yes or no vote (with no meaning a shut down). I don't know where you think I'm wrong about this but point it out if you want. No way anything like this can be called bipartisan.
Why are you so worried about domestic spending? You should be concerned about the tax breaks coming for the rich, and the corresponding increase for the rest of us courtesy of nMAGA.
I'm going to be straight up with you. I didn't waste my time on the video because it doesn't matter. All of us are imperfect, but Ed only likes to highlight when those who oppose his socio-political viewpoint compromise their principals. His people NEVER do such things, of course.
You’re right. People who actually care about the people NEVER do such things, only selfish greedy, cowardly representatives who are only interested in keeping their jobs.
Truth, honor, integrity. Amen.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I think Beau would prefer you attribute that quote to the person who originally said it, like he does - Maya Angelou.
@@deannamcmurtrey5794 Good to know. Thank you.
Beau was quoting Mya Angelo
I love Beau. I miss him SO much.
Well Belle, who took his place, has the same kind of no nonsense approach.
Right on Rev Ed. We don't have control of everything that happens in life. But we DO have control of our word.
So long as what we say is Truth, sometimes Truth hurts.

After years of warnings from Trump about immigrants taking our jobs, an illegal immigrant stepped in & took his job. Oligarchy at it's finest!
You're so right. Musk is the real immigrant danger.
Stellar observation!
Who says irony is dead?

The supposed moral majority has completely lost its morals and its way.
They never had any. It's always been hypocrisy.

Mike Johnson heard from Elon and Trump is all it took for Johnson to stop it. Thankfully in the end there was a bipartisan bill that passed.

Johnson is delusional with his religious beliefs. He thinks himself that he was chosen by God as some kind of messiah.
Sigh, Lindsey warned the GOP about Trump then he became the biggest brown noser.
I'm still of the opinion that Johnson will be the first (and probably only) "Christian" that will not be forgiven.
Where there’s life there’s hope.
That ship likely sailed centuries ago, definitely not the ONLY OR FIRST, but definitely one of the worst examples.

He did yet I think he’s mistaken about that.😂

It wasn’t last minute, it was negotiated and then minor changes were made after the incoming powers cracked the whip.
