Glad I saw this before I insulated my new metal garage. I have a 28 x 36 versa tube garage and work shop. They put a 2 inch fiberglass pad of insulation on all of it but western Colorado is cold like it was in Pennsylvania. I plan to put real 1/2 inch plywood on all the walls and this would be brilliant to do to fill them.
If you use a blower like this be sure to allow venting. I filled 9 wall sections and it worked great but I put in 2 holes in the top of the wall. One was for the blower tip, the other was a air release. I stapled a screen over the air release and it worked fast.
I just finished doing my ceiling in my shop. I put 3/8 inch plywood on the ceiling and blew in that styrofoam bits using the same methods. I got all they had from the stores in town which filled my 24 foot cargo trailer 2 times. Then like you I used my riding bagger mower to bust them up to fit in the little mulcher and then blew it all into my ceiling. Its over 8 inches deep in ground styrofoam now. And we had 100 degree temps and my shop is in the low 70"s inside.
What a neat idea, it would also work great for somebody like myself that sells on ebay, I constantly need packing material. I had thought about putting it through a wood chipper/shredder before, but this little blower would be prefect for in the shop. I look forward to a update on the long term of the blower. Thank You

what a great idea being done. this will be a great thing perhaps in your case in you put in window screen on an end and then the air could escape. do show us when you do this
This gave me a great idea to insulate the walls of my stealth woods shack. I'll frame then clad the outer walls with pallet planks, then plank in the inside leaving a hole at the top to blow in cellulose. The holes will be cleared of insulation and a 2 bottles cut in half and glues together will fill the holes after drilling through the outside after filling. I'm going to improvise a hopper using gravity with the blower upside down and a hose going from the end of the blower to a curved filling nozzle. I know I need a vent hole so maybe that can be about 3' from the floor using bottles to fill the hole. Thanks dude. Florida has some slippery scammers too, being the colostomy bag of the nation and all.
DON'T use pallets!!!!!! Poisonous!! Its a bad craze that needs to be stopped. Pallets have arsenic, chromium and other deadly chemicals in them. If you want a insane build, use insulated garage door sections. They interlock, are already R-8 and then insulate more in your framing. Garage door companies can make them up to 48 feet long, blanks, cheap and they can handle a 2x4 in a hurricane traveling at 90 mph.
PS - If you want stealth, you use Durock board with 2" deck screws. No shits! EMP, vandal and Infrared absorbing and easy to camouflage with mixed cammo paints and large sponges to dab it on. Use the 1 x 1/2 x 1 Z metal strips overlap flashing and Flex230 to seal the vertical seams. 50 year life, never a problem, 2 layers of 1/2" stops a 22 and 223 caliber dead. Put i layer of 7/16 OSB behind it and stop a 357 caliber. Built one camp cabin 12 x 28 in Athens Georgia 11 years ago with same process, still like new today and very strong. Cheap too.
Man, thanks a lot. I'm looking into your suggestions. I can find other reclaimed wood or find the cost of the garage door sections. Keep on mind it's only for a year or so and I'm trying to be as cheap as possible since the idea is to do it to save myself about 2500 bucks a month to save for the land to build the non-prototype. Respect to you sir.
@@JOHNDANIEL1 Ok, concerning the durarock, that's for the outside of the framing correct? So I would need a good alternative to the pallet wood for the inside as well preferably some reclaimed wood or super thin 1/8th inch plywood cover sheets for free from the distributor for cabinet shops. I was concerned with mold using Styrofoam plus I heard the bugs eat it. I've got about a week or two before I start the build, with most things being fabricated or prepped at my warehouse close by. I'm racking my brain on a cheap way to do this but still have structural rigidity and some insulative qualities. I'll be in what is like a mini rainforest on the edge of the everglades so it can't be some open for mosquitoes luncheon with me as the special.
Great idea! Wouldn't Жон Данил be a closer approximation? Also gf got me the best t-shirt. Can wear it all day in public even though on the front it says "фак ю"

This is a brilliant simple thing anyone can do.
Great idea but is it firesafe? isn't most blow-in insulation treated, making this a little risky?
That is a good idea. I would like to try to blow cellulose insulation in the walls of my room
Did it work?
Good idea and it will help on insulate the fish house for this winter😉

+Great North Woods Hillbilly Another video showing in use is on the way.
Look forward to it.
Ever try this with the cellulose? You can get 25lb bales at Menards for about 10 dollars.
That's smart! Good way to keep that stuff out of the landfill
+belgrademachine I am setting up a bin behind some local stores to collect more. I will be closing the whole shop ceiling and blowing it full.

+George Gardinier That's how I filled a bunch of lawn bags. Using a 10" sifter. Next video shows in-depth.
Very clever idea... thx!

another cheaper guy, incredible.
Wouldn't styrofoam be a severe fire hazard?
Why? They use styrofoam in cars, houses, and almost everything. Would it burn, yes. But would it self ignite, NO!
Can it shred people?
+Harry Rmynutts I would suggest a full scale chipper shredder for that. Just be sure to wash it afterwards.
Great idea! Wouldn't Жон Данил be a closer approximation? Also gf got me the best t-shirt. Can wear it all day in public even though on the front it says "фак ю"
Highly flammable horrible idea.
You made gold out of styrofoam!
You spelled Imagine as Emagine. Why?

Lord No, I surely am not a liberal. Trump For 2016 is on everything around my house.
+Missy T ok, your safe
Maybe you and Donald could use this to build the wall, magine that. Lol 😂 looks like 10 dens have watched this video check out the👎
Why make a video of doing something wrong? This is awful
