The more I see these shengmilo bikes, the more I really want to get one. It really caught my eye over other brands with what they offer and are probably the only ebike that could support my weight as I am right now. Too bad it's out of my price range for now. First got into ebikes when my mom's friend got a cheap 250 watt one for work commute and she has been impressing all her friends and coworkers. Many of them now want ebikes of their own. She's a twig so her ebike is perfect for her but I could see beefier ebikes like this one being a hit around here in my town surrounded by the countryside.
Price and quality are directly proportional. The core components of this MX04 are international brands, such as Bafang motor, LG battery, Shimano transmission system :)
i have the same, some of their models looks suspiciously much like himiway or radrover bikes, they are only much cheaper . needless to say , these are internet firms so you have to do repairs and maintainance yourself ( im a bicyle technician myself) . if thats no problem for you , go for this brand . Im seriously considering to buy one for myself.

Hi Ron, hoping you can help. I recently purchased the MX03 and have found communicating with merkx not productive. I am going to fast on pas 1 etc, when I peddle I have to break constantly when getting around town. Do you know how to limit the speed on pas 1, pas2 etc so the battery input is minimal in pas 1 and 2? Cheers
@@MARCO-rq2phstill considered 1000w so don’t worry like if you accelerating with throttle only or when you reaching top speeds with throttle only or when climbing steep hill is 1000w so no worries it’s still considered as 1000w, I also ordered one the shengmilo mx05 I’m waiting for it to arrive so what’s your impressions by now ?
@@Daily_clips638 great bike,i use it to go to work,30km everyday, made 2200km so far,if you cycle at 25km/h It can make 60km,throttle only a bit less like 45 but can reach 40-45kmh,very confortabile and the torque Is really strong. The front brake Is maybe the problem,if i use that makes a loop metallic noise because the disk isnt perfectly straight (prob only mine)but overall Is a great bycicle
Thanks for this nice impressions video. As Shengmilo is not responding to chat or mail, could you tell me the widrh of the rims . Would it be possible to mount skinnier tires say 2.5 as 3 inch wide are quite rare. Apart from Kenda and some chinese brands, not a single of the more known tire manufacturers like Schwalbe, Continental, Vittoria, Wtb, Maxxis, etc.. make 3 inch wide tires as far as i can find. Thanks in advance.
Good review Ron, not as Attractive as the MX-03 . mines is going great, and brakes are outstanding ,[ better than my 1970"s motorcycle ] looks like Slocht summit your on ,
Hi Alex, hard to say but I think the Bafang motor is much better though with the15 amp battery the range is probably less. The MX04 is much lighter and the narrower tyres make the bike better suited for road use though I was surprised at how well it still performed on the rough tracks here and it has better torque for climbing. I'm not keen on the leather grips and the saddle for off road as it was very slippy for holding on with leather gloves on on rough tracks when I tried it during the winter, but that is easily changed. I'm was hoping to get to try the updated MX03 which uses the same motor and controller and compare the two but that's likely to be late summer or autumn as they are now talking about putting a bigger battery in it!
@@RonWalkerCairngormGuides thanks Ron, interesting to hear as you have ridden both bikes! I’m currently deciding between the mx03 with the original 1000w and the mx05 with the bafang motor. How much better is the updated bafang motor? In what ways is it better, overall power, acceleration, hill climb etc? Thanks again, Alex
@@AliGspot The 500watt Bafang is smoother and maintains its torque over a wider range of speeds and inclines whereas the original 1000 watt motor has more top end power and speed at high revs but less general torque at lower revs. The Bafang will tend to keep going on a moderate to steep hill whereas the original motor starts to struggle once the revs drop. The old 1000 watt motor has a higher top speed and will hit of 30 MPH whereas the new Bafang peaks around the mid twenties. However most of my riding is on hilly off-road tracks and I prefer the Bafang!
@@RonWalkerCairngormGuides thanks for the detailed information Ron, that’s exactly what I was trying to find out so cheers for that. I am going to order the mx05 with the bafang motor. Thanks again for your help!
@@AliGspot Glad to be of help 😃 Could you order through my discount link and let me know how you get on as you should get money off and I'll get a small commission. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for the bike to arrive into the UK.
Nice rain jacket Ron👍 Be safe. Ride On!
Thank you, I will

One side is lockout the other side is dampening on the forks?? 🤔
I think so, it definitely has a fork lock!
I saw in aliexpress Shengmilo official store is it yours
