* Another time trying to correct/mix an old stereo track that was recorded and mixed bad (one of my very firsts) , and trying to do that with bunch of plugins, i have realized, after switching off all those "towers" of plugins, that i can do "miracles" with a very little, but right plugins: lowering original volume, LC, HC, dynamic EQ, some filters, a few EQ tweaks. * Right plugins, personally comfortable plugins - crucial. * Also, engaging safe clippers, limiters, compressors, LC, HC on channels even before recording makes everything so easier and faster. * Attack and release - very tricky, depends on many things, it is better to be on a safe side even though the sound is not the best to liking. * Endless learning. * Not on topic, but i made this comment a few times because...well, i think it is important: a great recording, mix, mastering does Not make a good music. I've seen people picking on so many things to an unbelievable point of perfection in sound, but the music...i can't personally even call it music - just a bunch of sounds, noise and stupid lyrics. * Music should be music that is full of beautiful melodies, harmonies, that elevates, enlightens, helps to live, shows the beauty, shows other dimensions, enriches the world, makes us kinder, better - not just a bunch of sounds, noise, , , , , , , , .. *The music can be good, but if energetically it is bad (overall or just personally for me), im not gonna listen to it, even if the quality of recording is superb. I rather listen to a poorly recorded good music, rather than to listen (i don't) to a high quality.. annoyance and degradation. Real music and great recording - great.
I think I have pretty decent vocal mixing jus feel like im missing something. My room is not acustic treated, if I acustic treat will it change my vocal mix?
I'm struggling to get a mix to sound balanced with depth and commercial sounding. I get it fairly loud but its just lacking depth and definition. What must I do?

The problem with most drum samples is that they're almost clipping😅
Yeah they want to make their drum kit sound like it hits harder, but really it’s just turned up and processed heavier.
