- The young horses escape while I'm filming. When we almost caught them again. They go through the wire again. It's a huge mess. Just wait for it. How are we going to solve this? And yes, there is power on the wire. The horses have a lot of respect for this. But sometimes things go wrong...

Wonder who owns Sjors. Somebody has taken really good care of him before he started boarding at Stal G. Elianne rides him for exercise; he fits right in.

That's when the title Pake was added to Sjors as he was in the lineage of Rising Star on sire Calvert's side. :-D
What a handsome Dutch Warmblood! When he walks, he is so regal, he commands respect / awe, and he has that wonderful temperament to match his phenotype.
That was such fun watching those young horses. A thing of beauty when they run and gallop together. Seeing Rising Star fills my heart with happiness, knowing that he is staying.❤️🇨🇦

My mom had a horse that was an escape artist. And once he was out he liked to play hide and seek. But his favorite trick was to go back to his pen once everyone was running around looking for him.

Risy is definitely Sjors mini me 😍 The young mares where having an absolute party, their neighs where definitely of the "catch me if you can" variety with a few kicks and bucks of exuberance.
I adore how friendly Sanne is. Little girl likes her redheads, eh? ;) She's trying so hard to befriend Risy and now Sjors! I understand, I love a redhead too. Sjors is such a handsome gentleman, wish I could meet him. I live for the gentle tenderness between Uniek and Risy -- the way she touches him is so sweet.

The fillies running and turning together reminded me of a flock of birds, like starlings. Herd behaviour is fascinating to watch for a person like me who knows nothing about it. And seeing Rising Star, now Yvonne's, is so special.Rein seems to be calm no matter what happens.Great video as usual, thanks Yvonne.

My goodness Sanne and Pake Sjor’s are very bright eyed and bushy tailed this beautiful summer day they want to take over the camera if only they knew just how famous they are. I sometimes forget just how tall Sjor’s really is then I see him next to the foals I can’t wait to see how Risy looks when he’s fully grown he’s grandpa’s little clone. I couldn’t watch this site after I heard RS was sold - made me SO sad for both Uniek and RS. So sad after a tragedy brought them together and to see them split up was devastating to me. Then I came across this video and it looked like havoc so I had to check it out! Yvonne - I am SO happy as I saw you had bought RS. So happy! You must have loved him too much to part with your little star that the world adores! I am back on board and do not have to watch him being taken away. I just could not bear that. Thank you thank you thank you Yvonne! You have got a heart of gold!
I felt the same. I felt depressed. Risey should remain with Yvonne at all cost. Especially now that His Mom Uniek is in Heaven. When these animals are sold you hope their in a lovng home. But then you ask yourself what if they have to be sold again. Risey is where he belong with folks that love and take immaculate care of him in the absence of his Mother's.he deserve the best.

I absolutely love to see Uniek and RS, she's sush a good momma. He's the littlest one out there! The juvenile horses were having a blast running around! They are so majestic they way there gait is, the way the hold their head as they run around!! I remember when I would try and catch my horse and she would run right towards me and then do a little turn as soon as she was close!!🐎

Ecstatic about your purchase of Rising Star!! I love Pake Sjors so much. He was so sweet and patient with Sanne, didn't boss her or hurt her -- and she responded by trying to boss him! Cheeky girl. But he didn't get mad, just made it clear who is the boss of the two of them. And then the way he went to defend "his" mares! I really appreciate what a gentleman he is.... And those crazy teenagers!!!! Wow, that was some chaos indeed, and a little scary, even watching it on my screen. Glad none of the horses or foals got hurt in all that commotion. Thanks for continuing to record it, it was like watching an action movie. I do love watching them, too, since watching two of those generations get born.

I'm sure you'll take us through Rising Star's growth and training, but could we also see how the Class of 2019 progress in their training and keurings? I especially want to follow my favorite, Klaske, but I'm sure the other fillies have their own fans who'd love to watch their progress, even if it's just short clips.
filmed in June...always love seeing uniek and rising star in any video(so great you could buy him of course!!!).....love seeing friesians being friesians in their pastures...I also think they were playing a game when they were loose....lucky rein was there to help you....it could have ended a lot more chaotic than it did
The young girls were being naughty and having a wild party . I like how Sjors protected the mares and foals . I don't think those girls wanted to mess with Risey or the Queen would have something to say about that . I am very happy that Risey will be around . I have followed the entire story and fell in love with Uniek and Risey .

Did you hear Yvonne finally sigh, "Ohhhhhh! Braaf!" when she got the teenagers' in the stable ~~ it was a little touch-and-go for a while. :-D

I am so happy that you made it happen that Rising Star could stay. His whole story was so uplifting at a time when I think so many just needed something that looked like hope and love and how there can be a silver lining in a dark cloud . It really seemed as it was meant to be when this small roan foal was pushes and prodded in the stable and before he was even fully in the stable Uniek knew he was near and was calling out to him. Of course the rest us history.
Of course we all knew that as a foster it was preordained he would be heading out around 4 months but it really was hard to imagine not seeing that cheeky colt growing up or being part of the stable as he really had grown to be so much a part of it. When I saw Janet hand you his lead and realized he would stay and the fairytale of the orphan foal that turned out to be a prince would not be ending anytime soon it was an extremely special moment.
It's a bit fun to see Rising suddenly bring more social with the other foals and I knew that was bound to happen as he gets more independent but it almost seems like now that he belongs and us not just visiting he needs to start making a good friends to play with.
I think Sjors is a camera hog! Seems like he was making sure he got more time on video than anyone else!!
Ah! Fillies! I often find them more mischievous than colts. And often too busy thinking that they are fences out of an area because it's better than where they are. Very much like the grass is always greener. And having to go find out how much better the grass is that they cannot eat makes them forget things like knowing that wire can not feel so good. Also, at least with yearlings or a bit older that are still growing managing placement height of a wire can that works well one week and the it seems like the next week they are just that bit taller where one or two can get a hoof up high enough to step down on the wire and then the whole herd poles through the breech. Sometime have to put out two wired one higher that the other but close enough so if they try to step on a wire and walk over it there is another right there a bit higher to remind them they have to turn around. They did seem to love their escape adventure though and then playing "catch me if you can" had them really happy and kicking up their hooves. Maybe this was just a "we all want Yvonne's attention today" with Sjors wanting extra face time on the video, Sanne wanting to gave and extra long face scratched and the fillies wanting to party! I have to admit it looked like a whole lot more of them charging about the pastures then there really were once they were divided up in a few stalls. The looks on a few if their faces once they were in the stalls seemed to be trying to figure out exactly who ruined the party!
Sanne: If I lick this hand enough, perhaps a treat will magically appear. I know this is where they came from last time. :)

What's up with that? He has been doing that for a long time. It seems he was doing that even before the foals go into their more independent phase. His own mother hasn't seemed to mind.

@@carmenandreea I was just asking a question? I did not mean to imply something was wrong or harmful. I was just interested in horse behavior. Why would this young foal be very interested in following another mother and her foal so much at even a young age. Actually, I was asking anyone who understands horse behavior that may read this and not directed at any one person. I just think it's interesting and not that something is harmful. If it was harmful, Yvonne and her staff would have corrected it. They are very on top or correcting things that need correcting. They take very good care of their horses.

I agree! So sleek and streamlined. I heard there are 2 camps of preference: those who prefer the more stocky baroque Friesians like Uniek and those who prefer the more modern Sport Friesians like Jildou. I love them all.

Something for everyone in this fun-filled video. Our independent lass Sanne is crushing on Yvonne. Reina is out like a light having a good nap. Loved how Smors protected the mares and foals when the teens got out. Wow, the teens were having a big party during their escape followed by dinner in the stable. Where does Sjors stand in the pecking order of the herd? Sanne really does like you, Yvonne. This was so action filled a video with the younger horses breaking the wire. It was interesting to watch the mares and Sjors go into defense mode when that happened. Trying to round them all up took you both a lot of effort and knowledge.
He’s the “stallion” in the herd even though he’s a gelding. His job is to protect the mares and their foals. At least in his mind. He’s like the bodyguard for the herd and the young ones are submissive to him but Uniek is the herd leader.
Pake Sjors is a nice addition to the herd of mares and foals. Calm and wise like a real Pake, but firm and protective as soon as the bunch of crazy young girls came to close. Goed zo Sjors🤎🤎

but it WAS exciting while it lasted! 😉 Sanne REALLY likes to be around Yvonne. She didn't even get completely intimidated when huge grandpa Sjors tried to take over the attention. She's a very sweet filly but brave! IMO, anyway.

At about 12:28 you caption that you are discussing how you are going to get them all to go where they belong. The video at that point shows all the young fillies standing together, and I am thinking: "There is more than one 'discussion' going on here. THEY are obviously discussing how to get away from you and keep the party going!"

Yvonne is a wise business woman. Buying RS now is cheaper than later after training etc. We have all grown to love his and Uniek story. Janet was probably glad to have him go to you and fitting that he stay at the stables. Petting the horses on their heads is good practice for when they go to the judging and running with the young man because they would be familiar with a human being close to them there. I'm not sure that most farms do that. Soon Yvonne you will have a herd of your own. Lol Best of luck to you.
"Running with the young man"! Thanks for the chuckle! I always think it looks so funny when they run with the boys in white at inspection. The horses are casually trotting, and the boys are like, run as fast as you can!

Oh I love this! Pake Sjors tries hard to defend the herd from the young fillies. They are a rambunctious bunch of youngsters! The mares are so protective of their foals. Watched this twice today and was the best part of a very stressful day. Thank you bringing a smile to my face!

One story is that Yvonne got RS from Janet, the other story is she brought him... I think she got a good offer for bying RS because she took care of him, that wy it is both a gift and a trade (for taking care of RS)
You're probably right. In the recent video when Janet presented RJ to Yvonne it was a very recent video and RJ was so filled out and growing. Then this video came out, still back in June and RJ was much smaller, kind of a surprise after seeing a present day RJ.
I kept calling him RJ when it really is RS. Sorry.
I don’t comment very often, but I watch these every day and it’s wild watching the Phillies run across the field and I watched almost everyone of them being born thanks to you. I’ve never enjoyed anything quite as much on a daily basis. It’s my therapy when I get all stressed and I sit down and watch one of your videos and I’m better. Thank you.

Watching a bunch of Friesians trotting together is the only salve I have known for a damaged heart.
The escapez just add a bit more variety and excitement. It makes these loanly days festive. A party without having to dress up. Was on the edge of my chair.
Sanne is so cheeky. Rs is getting braver with the others. Good.
