    This is my first real general advice type video so any feedback is appreciated. Still trying to figure out how in-depth to go with these so please let me know if you want longer versions of these (maybe even a multi-part series) :)

    One thing I believe is essential in Luna is the ability to work with multiple currencies simultaneously. In my case (and for most developers working remotely while living outside the U.S.), my salary is in U.S. dollars, but I live in Uruguay, so my expenses are in both UYU and USD. In many countries like Uruguay, the local currency is used for everyday expenses, while U.S. dollars are typically used for larger purchases like appliances or furniture. This makes it a bit difficult to keep track of my expenses in Luna.

    • @raroque
      @raroque  4 месяца назад

      Appreciate the feedback here!
      One things that is hard with this is the totals, it would probably require currency conversion in the calculation. Would you expect the exchange rate to be calculated at the time of transaction? Or updated on a more real time basis?

      I need to make a video on this, but the high-level advice is to expose yourself to a lot of different designs constantly. So I’m always browsing design Twitter, dribbble and a ton of other places looking for new elements/colors/patterns that I can use in my apps

    • @raroque
      @raroque  5 месяцев назад

      Glad you found it helpful!
      As a solo dev I would recommend actually picking what you move the fastest with (in my case, native was actually faster bc im faster with Swift haha)
      but also i would factor in how important cross platform is. if its a big deal for your app, i would go RN
      I'll be learning RN to try to ship the Android version of this (still prefer swift so will actually maintain 2 codebases for mobile)

    I am working on a teleprompter app with some friends and we have around 600 users. Haven't been looking at data on week 1 retention or sign up to feature use, so this is very helpful! I will get back to you if we see any improvements because of this :)

      Ah ya wish I recorded that 😅
      Posthog has a premade chart actually called a retention chart that will do this for you but basically you feed in your "key" metric (in my app that would be creating a task) and then it will automatically give you the week 1, week 2, week 3, etc... retention on average

    • @raroque
      @raroque  5 месяцев назад +1

      Swift!
      But I’m probably going to have to learn react native to do the android version. Sounds crazy, but I’m probably going to maintain the swift version for iOS and RN purely for android
      My advice is to pick the one that you lean more towards, even if it’s just a little bit :)

    The cost for google play account developer is 25$ for one time and the cost of apple store account developer is 100$ and renew every new year so what's make you develop for ios devices while the development for android is cheaper than ios ? And where are you from ?

    • @raroque
      @raroque  5 месяцев назад +4

      Cost is much higher (and also considering you need a Mac to do swift development specifically, even higher cost overall haha) but the main reason is I use an iPhone personally and the apps I build the apps with myself as the primary user in mind :)
      If i swapped to an Android phone, that would probably change and I would probably focus more on Android dev but for now iPhone!
