  • To celebrate my new channel name and all of the support I've received over the years, I decided to try something a little different. These are the top ten worst elevators I've ever filmed, using clips from past videos. I've filmed so many elevators since I've started in 2014 that I could've made a top 20 list. If there's a terrible elevator I filmed that I left off the list, feel free to comment down below. Please note, this video does contain some old footage back when my only camera was an iPhone 6 and when I couldn't hold a camera. Also, this is my first big editing project using iMovie, so if the quality isn't the greatest, please take this video with a grain of salt. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy some terrible elevators!

What kind of elevator was that at 16:52? Looks like a westy but I'm not sure.

US Elevator. It might’ve originally been a Westy because back when this store was LS Ayres, they installed pretty much only Westinghouse Elevators.

you want a bad elevator i know where there is one. the westlake center mall in seattle has an elevator that is horrid. what it does is when you call it sometimes it takes forever to show up. if you call the elevator and then someone else calls it in the parking garage well before you go up it goes to the parking garage first. there are times u could be riding the elevator a few floors before being able to get off on the floor you need. junk as i say. they wont replace it or do anything but do the bare minimum to make it at least be able to move but nothing more.

Reminds me of the elevator in my college’s residence hall, which also happens to be in Seattle.
It does a similar thing, where if I want to go up from the lobby and people are going to the basement, it will let me in even if it’s still going down, then I get sent to the basement before I can go up. It also runs a bit rough, and it’s quite unreliable. (It was out for 2 months waiting for parts.) On the other hand, they keep the cab super clean and in good condition. It’s a generic elevator with G.A.L. door hardware and Dewhurst buttons and lanterns. The elevator repair person told me the manufacturer of the entire thing is, apparently, Global Tardif, a company based in Quebec that makes elevators for third party installation companies. The car-top label (which I had the opportunity to see while they were being repaired.) tells me it’s made in 2008. Quite a large, long narrow elevator, with a 4000LB capacity.
What type is the one in Westlake center? It wouldn’t happen to be the last old 80s Montgomery they allegedly have remaining, would it? That one doesn’t meet ADA standards, so luckily it might be modernized if it keeps having issues.
