Braum is just such a heartwarming character especially out of all the mixing you get from League. His portrayal in 'the ruined king' is just the right balance of goofy man and stalwart friend.
You hit like baby ram! No horns yet.
Main reason why I mained him when I played League. Couldn't be toxic when I had Braum in my ear all game.
Ruined king has Illoai hitting on Braum. The conversation hints that he would go for it if he wasn't see sick.

A lore tidbit I adore (even though I don't know if that's just a rumour but it's so good that it's my headcannon anyway) is that the enchantment making the door unbreakable works as long as the door is protecting a treasure. But the door has judged Braum's heart as a wonderful treasure so the enchantment persists.
Yoooo, idk if that is true, but even if it isn't that is super golden, 10/10

Or Braum, constantly on his way to protect others, qualifies as serving the door's purpose.
Heck, even when he took the door from its hinges, he was using it to protect what was more valuable, to him, than what was behind the door.
Actually, no (but I would love it to be).
The reason why the door is unbreakable is because Ornn was the one that forged it, so it's basically one of the most resilient and durable objects to ever exist, since it's creator is the demigod of forge himself.
But the enchantment did exist. Ornn casted a curse in the vault that wouldn't let the door be opened, no matter the strenght applied. But Braum as the pure legend he is, punched throught the whole mountain and destroyed the walls of the vault instead of removing the door. Dude is such a gigabrain, heartwarming character.

The legend says that the Troll made a wager with Ornn, they would both drink from a cask of trollmead, but the Troll cheated, he slipped a shard of true ice inside Ornn's cask, the magic ice was perpetually melting and watering down the trollmead, something Ornn had noticed and didn't like the taste, but no matter how much he chugged, the true ice had replaced it.
Grubgrack, the hideous demanded a door for his treasure that would keep it safe from thieves, but the door was so effective that the troll was never able to reach his treasure again, because the door was insurmountable

I hadn't even noticed it until now, but you can sort of hear bits and pieces of Ornn's theme in Braum's theme... Which is funny, not only because Ornn came out much later, but also because Ornn was the one who built Braum's "shield" door :p

The heart is the strongest muscle as Braum would always say. Man what an absolute chad of a guy with an equally energetic theme.
Fun fact the door he is carrying was made by Ornn, hence why it is unbreakable and why the Frostguard is interested in it, since anything Ornn makes is of legendary status. Ornn made the door after losing a bet to a troll that wanted an unbreakable door to his vault, the troll cheated but Ornn first found out afterwards. So he made so the door would never open again, as revenge so the troll could not get his own treasure. Also why the door has a ram on it, kinda Ornns signature almost

It speaks to the talent of Riot's music team that you pretty much nailed Braum's entire concept within a few seconds of hearing his theme tune.

Theyre supossed to potray the character and make it fit him, and with that in mind they made a song.
Its not hard to believe that you can, hell you should pick up on that.
And in his defense, he gets it wrong often enough that its clear hes not faking it.

Fun fact: those little furballs shown in the trailer and around Braum in the spotlight video are called *_Poro's (poro = lit. reindeer in finnish)_* they are a sort of magical creature which originate from the Freljord, but have spread across the entire world of League and can be found living literally everywhere in droves - their round fluffy bodies are allegedly heart-shaped because they are made of love - they are a sort of mascot-animal of the game's universe, like Chocobo for Final Fantasy
Also, the tale of Bruam's door has a parallel in a story of Ornn. So the myth goes, Ornn was tasked by Troll to build him something, a weapon I believe. Upon it's completion, the troll Tricked Ornn out of paying for it.
Later, after the troll had conquered much wealth, he once again tasked Ornn to make a vault door that nothing could force it's way in. Ornn did, and was once again tricked out of payment.
Once time had past the Troll went to look upon his riches, only he couldn't open the door. After trying and failling with all his might he approached Ornn and asked why he couldn't open the door.
"You wanted an unbreakable door. I made it."
So here we have a tale of an unbreakable vault door forged by the god of craftsmen... and Braums toting it around because "it is strong, like me!"
This sounds similar to *cough* Trundle.

Freljord with their nordic style music is amazing man. It's just so powerful.
Maybe instead of reacting to the champion spotlight, react to the (Skins spotlight) interactions! There you can get the pure personality of the character in their dialogs, and how they resolve around other champions:)
He can also react to the legends of runeterra interactions which have more character interactions
I love that this song is like a folk tale or a old folk festival typeof song. It really fits with Braums character as a Person that is always there for the good of the people! And that he has a good sweet heart!

I've been so excited for braum. He's my actual favorite champ lore wise. He's a living folk hero and he just keeps making more legends.
One of the most inspiring characters in League. Brightening other people's days and encouraging them to be the best versions of themselves, just by setting an example and sharing his heart with the world.
Braum is the one champion no one has a (non-petty) reason to hate.
Braum is such a lad. Pretty much the Paul Bunyan of the Freljord, just this mythical folk hero type guy that everyone who's not a dickwad loves cause he's just so friendly. Very much the gentle giant of League.
Yeeees, I was so looking forward to when you would listen to Braum's theme. His and Taliyah's I can't help but put at full volume whenever they come up in my playlist.
Braum is such a good character, he's strong, positive, simple and always happy. His quote when you select him in a game is "The heart is the strongest muscle", and expresses perfectly everything he's about
If you want, there's also another cinematic that was made for the card game, IIRC it's called "Avalanche". And the song "stand behind" by instalok is also very funny and fits the character :)

Positive masculinity is the best way to put it honestly. As a dad of 2 boys, I’m constantly trying to teach them how to be a better man than I was taught. Braum embodies a lot of the traits I’ve been trying to teach, but especially “be a protector, not a bully.”

You know what's better? The door activates with ancient magic to guard a treasure, and Braum was able to use it with its magic as well. It was meant to guard a treasure after all.

Man, I LOVE your analysis and how you always land near the true nature of the characters.
One thing abour Frejlord is that it's a land of extremely rough men and women. If you see other freljord champions, they are all warriors, abd aggressive, and have tough attitude. Kindness is not a word anyone would use to describe them. So for Braum to be this gentle giant is an incredible feat.
I realy loved how do you feeled the good mood that theme transfer, thats one of my fabourite LoL themes, just Behind Ornn and Nami themes, plz marco, listen next "Tidecaller", Nami's theme.
Curious data, the "shield" Braums carry its a door Ornn crafted to a troll king who had a little funny end xD.
i have long stopped playing this game but damn the world of league of legends and the characters within it, its all so rich and vibrant and the music does such a good job conveying that. take this here daddy braum for example; with our main man marco beautifully explaining the nuance in his music. yeah this game can reach levels of toxicity worth a hazmat suit and a gas mask but damn what beautiful world this game has.

I've been kicking league off my feed so bad that I forgot how this song makes me smile. Thank you for this upload!! Braum is an amazing character, so fun to play and so full of joy and love! I like how you brought up "strong man" so soon in your analysis because his design was based off circus strongmen and wrestlers.
Braum considers every Freljordian (or even Runeterran) a part of his family, his brethren, his children, and he'll always do his best to protect them. Coolest uncle of the nation. Who doesn't love a gentle giant? He's the kinda guy who would punch another to stop a petty bar fight then offer him his hand soon after. That's how I interpreted his splash art anyway, he'd see no difference between helping an ally or someone he'd just sparred. The "heart of the Freljord" title really suits him.
he knows some of the stories people tells about him are fake, yet he still claiming the honor for them, not because he wanted, but because he knows sometimes a good story can guide someone to be a better person
I love Braum’s theme! The powerful beats and jolly folk music is just infectious perfectly touching on Braum’s status in the Freljord as a sort of legend that will have your back no matter what and always with a smile.
Please also listen to the voice lines of the champions. They tell you the most about them.

Really love all of the vids, Braum theme has always been one of my favourites. One theme I'd recommend checking out is Irelia, I really don't like the character but I honestly got a bit emotional when I heard it the first time.
One game which is an absolute gold mine for music is Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy Kongs Quest. It's an oldie but nearly everything on that ost is amazing, Stickerbrush Symphony is one everyone should give a good listen to.

As soon as I heard you'd never listened to it before and were basing your understanding of the character by what you heard, I was waiting for it. The moment your expression turned to a smile. I knew it wouldn't take long. That's how Braum is.
As you get closer and closer to Diana's theme, listen to "Daylight's End" from the Music of League Vol.1. It is a bit of an extended version of her theme and gives a fuller picture of her character then her base theme. Diana is was one of the first theme's made hence the addition so to speak. I promise, its worth it.

A nice thing about Braum is that he has the fact that he's this BIG,STRONG and kind man that lives in a matriarchal society.
He's very nice In that he's one of the few times you see this sort of masculine ideal of being nurturing and kind.(instead of the stoic and tough type you usually get)

I've played a fair bit of league, and I haven't read or known really anything about Braum. Even his theme music has gone under my radar, and I just have to say that this is way better than I expected, and I expected it to be decent to begin with.
