Loletha Elaine Falana better known by her stage name Lola Falana, is an American singer, dancer, model and actress. She was born on September 11, 1942 in Camden, New Jersey. On Friday September 11, 2020, she celebrated her 78th birthday.
Lola Falana's father, an Afro-Cuban, left his homeland of Cuba to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps, later becoming a welder shortly after meeting Falana's mother who was African-American

I remember she had a special on television years ago. Always wondered what became of her. She was so beautiful and talented. She never became a superstar, but she impressed me so much I've never forgotten her from decades ago. She was filled with energy. Very underated.
At one point she was the highest paid female entertainer in Vegas. In the 70s she made $100,000 a week, 20 weeks a year and was a major tourist attraction.

This woman is a worship leader from a down-home church somewhere. You could see it in her approach to performance. she was certainly drop-dead-gorgeous --that didn't hurt, but it was that approach to performance that was responsible for her stardom, I think.
