I've been looking at a lot of videos with Irene Cara and realized that I never was aware of how much performing she must have done over the years. There are lots of commercials she did in the 1970s, Japan Concert tour in 1985, etc. I found a documentary about her life that really put it all together. For some reason I have had a hard time with her loss even though I thought I had no interest in her career. Growing up we didn't really see many of her performances though they are all amazing to watch. She's the real deal. From her almost Shirley Temple-like mannerisms on the early 60s show The Original Amateur Hour to her band Hot Caramel formed in 1999 she never got deterred. Same here! Loved her when I first heard Fame in high school in 1980. Love her even more now after taking a wonderful journey of her life’s work. Thank goodness for the ones who have provided her videos on YT including Irene on her own channel. Hopefully more will be released on there. 💕

@@lindaalesia Hello Linda! Thanks for asking. My book is chronological. It will start when she was 3. I was able to piece together lots of events of her life from her childhood. The hardest sections to write are her lawsuit and awards she won. Her Wiki page is far from complete and even the documentary that's on RUclips doesn't cover some very important events of her life. I am waiting on a book that tells more about her lawsuit and how she had to switch lawyers after 5 years because they did nothing on her case. Like wolves they emptied her savings and tried to break her will. When she switched to new lawyers, suddenly, "magically" her case was quickly heard and she was awarded the bear minimum for her suit. I know you probably don't want to hear about a boring lawsuit but she endured SO MUCH that I had to find out if her first wave of lawyers were subverted by her record company to do nothing. When I hear people say "she was hard to work with" they just don't know what she went through. Those that she trusted the most broke that trust and tried to take away more than her money. They wanted to take away her smile. Right now I am at "1983" just before everything went wrong. I've included Irene's thoughts as well, especially those she freely gave on RUclips from time to time. It will be everything about Irene, her candid moments, her personality, religious beliefs, etc. Everyday new videos are popping up that give a greater sense of who she was. The algorithms of RUclips flood me with all things relating to Irene. While my book will cover almost every month of her life it will not cover some the minor events. There are lots of photos of her on Getty and Alamy that fill in those blanks. My book does cover her addiction with cocaine but only as she tells the story in her own words. I don't speculate about it. Since she did live in Santa Fe, NM in 2008 I do speculate that she might have chosen to live there because of the clean air and it helped to alleviate some of her "possible" respiratory symptoms. We still don't have a final signal as to the cause of her passing. Maybe we never will.

Hi ! It's all very sad, such a dear and good singer left us, much too soon! I was 19 years old when I saw the film in the cinema, it shaped my time, it was the time when I got my driver's license, it was on the radio when I had my first driving lesson, I couldn't get up because of the beautiful song concentrate on driving, which made my driving instructor angry! :-)) All in all a very nice time, thank you Irene Cara for making us happy in the 80's with your songs. One of the best singers of the 80's has left us, Irene, you will always be in in our hearts and your music will continue to accompany us through life.
