Back in 1993, Beam Software made a Game Boy 2D platformer called Baby T-Rex. It sold poorly. Months later they re-released the game with a slight change to the main character sprite and slapped the We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story movie license on the cover to coincide with the film's release.
Worth noting that the four games re-skin the characters, but the level designs are unique. Sweet World, Music World and Toy World were all unique worlds in the proposed Zool reboot, and Anubis II was originally to feature Zool's Tooting Common character. When the licensees withdrew the license from the dev, they separated the four worlds from the Zool game and elaborated on them separately with different character models and extended level design. Basically, the covered the Zool assets, broke the finished game into four different parts and expanded on those parts as unique 3D platformers, trying to recoup the financial investment of Zool's development.
