On The Way To a Smile marlene lived with tifa and cloud while barret was away and even said she will be a good girl in this family. but yeah, marlene is really barret's friend's duaghter who passed away
@isabellilou it's after tifa and loz fight. tifa passes out in aeriths church and cloud finds her laying in the flower bed, but ends up passing out beside her after his geostigma attacks. this is all in the movie too.
