Cloud is the real deal and one of the most human MC ever made. Other MC from video games are too idealistic or depressing or something else that makes them stand out. Cloud is actually quite normal besides SOLDIER stuff (super strength, power, materia, maco, etc). Even that doesn't affect his personality when he starts to relax around others. He has gone through some real trauma and not some fake shit like parents divorce that todays kids almost brag about and pretend to be hurt and traumatized for attention. He really went through so much crap that its not normal lol. Still dude got couple of friends along the way and got help from them to deal with his troubled mind. Cool thing about Cloud is that he is so relatable when it comes to interaction with others. At least for me. And his type is so rare in real world and those kind of people are constantly being exploited by others, tricked and used. Guess that's one of the reasons why he has a huge fan base. He is what most want to be but cant cause you would be eaten by "sharks" in no time. Rarely anyone is willing to suffer for their own personal believes and principles. Majority of people are like ants. And they are fine with it. Be born, work entire life and die. You slave away your best years so you can have some crumbs to eat when you are old. They dont know how to enjoy life even when opportunity present itself. Maybe in video games we get to be free at least for once while playing our favorite characters. And if he is relatable of top of that then its more fun. And Cloud is relatable to most of introverts for sure. Anyway FF7 has some deep characters when you look at it. Cloud is complex for sure but others are not lagging behind by much.

seeing as cloud strife has all of zacks memories and strengths im pretty sure Zack could've taken out Sephiroth but they were trained together in crisis core they were like brothers

Think about this... Cloud had both hands on his big ol' buster sword. Kadaj has his smaller sword but is more bad ass in their final battle for one reason. He fought the whole time with only one hand. The other hand held onto Jenova's head securely through the whole thing.
