I purchased Tangem 3 card Managed to make them useless. Moving to another type of wallet. wish me luck as all my crypto awaits my action on the exchange!! not computer savvy. any Ideas??
There's a video claiming that Ledger have just conceded that law enforcement could compel them to reveal keys stored via this Recover function and that they would comply. This would be very concerning, especially in light of Adolf Trudeau's actions against the Freedom Convoy and GoFundMe. Thoughts?
I’m a little confused. Is this putting your keys on the blockchain? Do you have to pay gas fees for every transaction? Wouldn’t using polygon over Eth be much cheaper?
If Ledger wanted to do recovery, they should have created a separate device with the recovery feature. Currently the Nano X, with a firmware update, can export keys. I'm done, I don't trust Ledger anymore. Seems like all these companies get big then go the way of Windows, making the customer the product. BTW, good video.
Picked up a Trezor T, The T seems secure if using a passphrase in combination with a good seed, but it does have a learning curve, not being an alt coin 1 to 1 migration from Ledger.
Can you please mention in next video if we have are crypto on nano ledger x for years do you think we need to switch to other wallet or are they still secure please mention in next video because most people already have nano x thank you I love your videos the best out their
As a crypto purchaser, enthusiast I have all crypto on ledger device. As a layman, not very technical crypto collector I would like to say that I understood practically none of this. Is there a channel that lays out options & some instructions?
This may be the most useful video you’ve created yet. I set up my my first multi-sig and now feel a bit more secure with my funds. I wish Ledger would have figured out a way to make a more secure device perhaps by setting up their own multi-sig service. Instead we learn we are all just one malicious firmware update away from losing all our funds.
Hey there 👋 Thanks a lot for letting me know you found this video useful 🙏 Getting a lot of comments where people are overwhelmed and need more details on the process before completely understanding it, which I will address in a future video 👀 Agreed, I wish Ledger had a different approach than the one they rolled out
Hey Amedeo 👋 Thanks for taking a moment to let me know you’re trying out the Tangem wallet and like the idea of using a smart contract to secure funds 💪 Fun and interesting times 💯
@@CryptoCaseyThanks Casey. Question: if I create smart contract using safe app, does it mean that I can buy or sell crypto only from safe app? I kind of got the idea but still need clarification such as if I buy directly from trust wallet then would it not allow me to buy because of this smart contract which requires 2 approvers?
Is there a problem with wallets that generate their own private key an issue if the manufacturer go the same way a ledger. At least with ledger if you are shut out of your funds for non compliance you can still use an entirely different wallet (with the same seedphrase) to access your account. The problem with wallets that generate their own seed phrase (like Tangem) is that you do not know what that seed phrase is, to access your account from a different wallet. Love your videos, straight to the point.
A job well done, Adriannotch- Your being out there fighting these scum is a relief. Another great video Casey! I just ordered my own Tangem card. I found out the hard way woth leaving coins on exchanges. First with Voyager and a few weeks ago Coinbase delisting GALA and i lost those coins too. Its very frustrating how easy you can screw yourself with this technology. Appreciate the video!
Casey - Question: Your crypto assets would need to be inherited to say your spouse if you were to pass away. They would need your passcode correct to get access to the funds on your Tangem and also if you use biometrics for setting up Tangem security on your phone can they access your phone to get to the funds? Something no one has mentioned. Thanks
Some confusion, Casey. You initially set up 5 owners, but then your safe suddenly only had 3 owners as your example continued. You then created a 2 of 3, but only added a single signer, your Trust wallet meaning your Trust wallet was the only wallet necessary to sign. Apologies for getting somewhat lost there.
Great work *Adriannotch* - so glad you are out there fighting these lowlifes. We need to do all we can to spare the elderly and the general public from these despicable scammers! Kudos to YOU!!You deserve the Nobel prize for keeping us safe big, up brother.
Nice video, thank you. My concern with Tangem is that Tangem Wallet relies on an app (software) on a mobile phone because the Tangem card lacks a display. This means that if my mobile phone gets hacked and the recipient's address is manipulated, I could end up signing a transaction with the card that goes to the hacker's wallet instead of the recipient's, resulting in me losing my money. There is no way to verify the recipient's wallet address on a display on Tangem Wallet.
This is highly incorrect. This is why you check before sending it. If it’s manipulated then you don’t send it. You probably need the Ledger service if you can’t understand something as simple as that smh
@@investomarsh no its not... if your cell is hacked it can show you the right address on that phone but really its sending it to another address.. there is no way to verify the address from the hardware wallet itself ..
I am pretty sure you need the password also before anything is executed. And each wrong pw entry has a delay applied. So a hacker needs your physical card and your password to transfer anything.
@@georgedinar4169 with a flipper zero a hacker can copy that card and clone your phone in 2 mins .. and they just came out with an antenna for it .. ask yourself how easy do you think it is for a skilled hacker to get your password
Thanks Casey. Is the idea with SAFE that you would create a separate contract for each network corresponding to the tokens you hold? Like, create an Ethereum contract for your ETH + other ERC20 tokens, create a Polygon contract for your Matic tokens, etc. etc.?
You can only use the Tangem wallet with the Tangem application, what if in the future the application requires personal verification (like Ledger will) 🧐😏⁉️
Well exactly. At some point Tangem users will simply have to transfer funds OUT of their Tangem wallet and abandon the whole charade for something that allows us more personal control.
If gnosis safe vanished how would we access the multi sig? I'm sure there is a way I'm just not sure how I would go about it. Is there somewhere else we could access the contract? Or would some other front end spring up and we could restore the existing one somehow? Thanks!
Thanks for the breakdown! I need some advice: I have USDT in my SafePal wallet along with the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Thanks for the information Casey, your description of the Tangem got me hooked. Also I don’t know if I’m missing something regarding Ledger but the narrative came as an upgrade, but I do need to do a deep dive on this topic and maybe I’ll get an inkling into what the fuss is about.
This is a genius model, creating a smart contract safe. However, going through a third party to do so, instead of coding your own smart contract, is extremely unsafe. There is just too much trust going on, especially with passing around private keys… just like tangent and ledger… you don’t know what’s going on under the hood… unless you can read all the code that you are using. But coding your own smart contract ‘safe’, is a genius idea and I’m definitely going to do that for myself, thanks!
Thank you so much for this amazing video! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
I agree. It may be workable for those who are already in the crypto space, but it is not a good for people who are just getting started. The entire issue of security for self custody has to be simplified before crypto can come to the masses.
All of this seems really great to me except the thought that the phone itself has access to all this stuff and in the event of a phone theft, several accounts are vulnerable. Maybe even with just remote access. Please reply.
When someone discover 1 of the wallet of the owner ,does he also need signatures to approve a transaction?Or do i have to send all my funds to contract to be safe?

Hey, Lady Casey, 1st - thank you for this video.🙏🙏🙏 You are my Cryptocurrency teacher keeping me abreast of this space. 2 - Could you make another video that shows and illustrates step-by-step how to get our Crypto off Ledger and onto the Tangem. Like many viewers below, I am disappointed in Ledger and now don't trust it! Also as Guy of the Coin Bureau channel points this out in his recent video - How am I to know if Ledger doesn't put that so-called recovery technology in a device update, and when I update my device the mechanism within the update doesn't try to hunt and find out my C- Code?! An in-depth video tutorial on the transfer of Crypto from Ledger to Tangem would be helpful. Cryptodad has one for Ledger to Trezor, but I am seeking, studying, and evaluating the Tangem option myself. Thanks in advance.👍😎
Are multisig providers capable of stealing funds? Additionally, what would happen if they cease operations or go out of business? Would we lose all our assets in such scenarios?
ok what if one of walllet`s owner is dead or one of major wallet provider (tryustwallet or MEW or other) is down or my tangem card is broken and we need 3 persons to activate transaction
I have purchase the tangem wallet and now waiting for delivery. If I put Bitcoin on the tangem wallet can I still put it on the Safe Smart Contract Multi-Sig storage. How does work or will it work.
Great video, triggered me to subscribe. I like the idea of Tangem, but can’t get past the idea of not having the seed. Why not a card for convenience + the corresponding seed?
Hey there 👋 Thanks for taking a moment to comment 🙏 So the fees go to validators that process transactions, keep records of transactions, and maintain the security of the network. And yes, these fees change in real-time based on demand. So if there are a lot of transactions happening, the price to transact would be higher. Sometimes if you try to do things at around 3am EST, there is less activity on the network depending on what’s going on. Hope this helps
it is a good solution, but in fact, for ordinary users, it has a fatal weakness: that is when, for some reason, you cannot access the service provider's web, you no longer have a way to connect to your assets.
I live by the kiss method of life. You don’t NEED it dont buy it. Air gap an old computer or flash drive. Take some accountability and responsibility for your OWN keys.
Nice lecture! I have a question, six years ago , I invested for share profits and had no news while I gave them my I’d and others , but now some emailed me as positive balance registered in my name
Ledger AND its software are Open Source. The only thing on the Ledger that is a "secret" is the security chip that houses your seed phrase. Until last week, Ledger represented that the security chip could NOT communicate the seed phrase outside of itself after the initial wallet creation, the one time at set up. That now has been exposed as not true. What else is not true?
Not really. You can use MetaMask as one. It’s a hot wallet in the form of a browser extension so they are heavily targeted by scammers. Just always be careful when using MetaMask
Hello Casey, I would really appreciate your doing a deep-dive video about the technology of the Tangem wallets. In the wake of the Ledger HW Wallet fiasco, I would like to know just how up front the company is with their customers. For example, does their code meet security industry standards, are they able to code a "backdoor," etc. I am wondering if Tangem is more "trust" worthy and verifiable than Ledger. Thanks, Casey. Best to you!!

This is the best video on Youtbe on Safe, seems highly complex but ultimately highly secure.
Thank you casey, this video is very helpfull for people like me as a beginner.
Thanks Casey for the video, I love your explanations! Can I use separate Tangem cards as the keys for the multisig wallet?
what will happen if the IOS or Andriod app is removed from the app store and phone before I have the chance to transfer from tangem to other wallets?
Can you make a video for Bitcoin Multisig with Tangem one of the keys? Tnx 🙏
If gnosis safe vanished how would we access the multi sig? I'm sure there is a way I'm just not sure how I would go about it. Is there somewhere else we could access the contract? Or would some other front end spring up and we could restore the existing one somehow? Thanks!
you didn’t use the same wallet address from trust wallet for the key as you did owner…where do you get the second address for trust wallet?
Thank you for this excellent tutorial. I felt a little uncomfortable using Safe on my mobile. After watching this, I've changed my mind.
i stop ledger for long time; not practical but it seems many youtubers seems to intro it
Thanks for the breakdown!
Tangem looks great, Casey, but what if the company goes out of business? Our private keys…. Did you address this in a video already? Thanks!!
On their site they address this. The short version is they do not need to exist for the card to work, it operates independent of the company.
Arculus and Ellipal for me👌🏼
Great video Casey! Very helpful, thank you🙏🏽
Thank you so much for this amazing video! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
I am sorry. I got lost after you said, "Ledger recently announced..."
A little slow I am.
Kidding, great content as always, and always appreciated.
Wow. There has to be a more simple way. My head is swimming after this
Agreed
I agree. It may be workable for those who are already in the crypto space, but it is not a good for people who are just getting started. The entire issue of security for self custody has to be simplified before crypto can come to the masses.
Can you please show how the then USE the multisig co signing?
Examples with Defi etc would be helpful!
All of this seems really great to me except the thought that the phone itself has access to all this stuff and in the event of a phone theft, several accounts are vulnerable. Maybe even with just remote access. Please reply.
I'm going to see about returning my Ledger device for a refund.
Support will not even respond to the ticket. They ghost you, if you ask about returning your Ledger Devices.
When someone discover 1 of the wallet of the owner ,does he also need signatures to approve a transaction?Or do i have to send all my funds to contract to be safe?
what good does splitting up the private keys into 3 shards when ledger owns all the shards anyway?
Thank you dear Casey, nice video!❤❤
How do they make backups without sharing keys or at least sharing something that the keys can be derived from?
Seems like a fatal flaw
It seems there is always a 3rd party involved. With btc you can use a paper wallet.
Lite and doge, too!
I SALUTE You for all that your doing, helping all
the victims of these scambaggs, they so
deserved to be humiliated and be exposed to

your friends, watching from Dalry England!!
Wanted to be SUPER sure I was going to the right url, finally, thank you! haha.
Funny know body promoting ledger anymore lol 😂😂😂😂
Well yeah, cause they just started doing this and they don’t support it anymore. This isn’t the gotchya moment you think it is
step 100. done
Exactly. Good grief. Seems confusing to me
1.3k+...Thaks CC. May I suggest on your next video please, if possible, a tutorial on using Tangem wallet. I have ordered from the last video you made. Thanks in advance.
Because six years ago I invested 500 $ had lost with no communication until now . If they may right it could be interested bu ???
Are multisig providers capable of stealing funds? Additionally, what would happen if they cease operations or go out of business? Would we lose all our assets in such scenarios?
Im still thinking ledgers are gonna be used because think about it, why were they created in the first place?
That’s the problem. They changed from what they were made for. There should be a class action lawsuit.
ok what if one of walllet`s owner is dead or one of major wallet provider (tryustwallet or MEW or other) is down or my tangem card is broken and we need 3 persons to activate transaction
Do you suggest the safe app (contract wallet) for a 'group' investment?
I have purchase the tangem wallet and now waiting for delivery. If I put Bitcoin on the tangem wallet can I still put it on the Safe Smart Contract Multi-Sig storage. How does work or will it work.
Great video, triggered me to subscribe. I like the idea of Tangem, but can’t get past the idea of not having the seed. Why not a card for convenience + the corresponding seed?
Thanks Casey for your effort .Who is collecting the fees for the multisig wallet ?Do you think these fees may suddenly go crazy at any moment ?
Casey, but this safe is used for which wallet address that need multi signatures on?is the first wallet address that pay the fees ?
Great Review! How can you trust Safe in the first place? What if they stop their services and their app is not working?
Thank you casey 😊 you are the best in the business imo
I live by the kiss method of life. You don’t NEED it dont buy it. Air gap an old computer or flash drive. Take some accountability and responsibility for your OWN keys.
Add encryption as well.
@@tarrySubstance and double it
What’s an air gap?
@@unsignedmusic it simply means to disconnect and disable the device from all internet connections
@@Mr._Market it would be awesome if you could make a video about the process 🙏🏽🙏🏽. On your own time ofc 🥹
What if your key is already compromised, can you use this to claim ownership back or is it to late?
Nice lecture! I have a question, six years ago , I invested for share profits and had no news while I gave them my I’d and others , but now some emailed me as positive balance registered in my name
Crypto Casey you are on point with solutions. Great job!
What if SAFE get hacked or out of business?
What if someone hack our SAFE account and change the number of wallets needed for confirmation?
With Tangem cards (both prime and backup), if they both or 3 of them are lost, can we still able to recover the coins without 12 or 24 words?
Hey love listening to you is it easy to transfer from an change to your card
No matter where you have your coins someone or something else knows it.
Ledger needs to make their software and maybe their hardware open source. Then I think many people will stay with or continue to use ledger.
And I am being told to have crypto wallet to withdraw the profits, however ?? What could you advice me ?
How would you use a multi sig with a dapp, that asks for Metamask wallet? 🤔
Самый крутой канал по теме крипты. Уже давно юзаю твои советы в своих инвестициях)
Excellent research and demonstration. You are a stellar teacher!
I’m gonna have to watch this a few times sheesh
You have to be crazy to use the ETH network with the crazy gas fees.
Agreed. Eth fees are insane
@cryptocasey is that a 1 time fee to set up the multi sig?
What a nightmare, even though you explained it amazingly…
So we would have to create a new contract for each crypto we own?
Hey. I am trying to buy tangem cards. It is not going good. It won't take any payment method. How do you get the cards?
I got this started. Will review your video again and continue. You’re talking fast. Lol. Thanks for the lesson. ❤
Hey Curtis 👋 Always nice to hear from you in the comments 🙏 Appreciate the feedback and will slow it down 💯
Does tangem hold hbar and cspr I didn’t see them on the app
Tangem supports xrp right?
Very polished. That took a lot of effort for sure.
Appreciate you 🙏
Sorry, Casey i am new to this, is there a reason why you did not add a metamask address?
Not really. You can use MetaMask as one. It’s a hot wallet in the form of a browser extension so they are heavily targeted by scammers. Just always be careful when using MetaMask
But... What if the Safe contract gets hacked?
Hello Casey, I would really appreciate your doing a deep-dive video about the technology of the Tangem wallets. In the wake of the Ledger HW Wallet fiasco, I would like to know just how up front the company is with their customers. For example, does their code meet security industry standards, are they able to code a "backdoor," etc. I am wondering if Tangem is more "trust" worthy and verifiable than Ledger. Thanks, Casey. Best to you!!
Bought them they are awesome
Can you please make a detailed video on Leger? We need a detailed video. There are so many different opinions on it. Is our crypto still safe on it?
It boils down to whether you TRUST Ledger and take them at their word that they won't use the backdoor for nefarious means. Feelin' Lucky??
