The humans arrogance is what led them to think they were untouchable because of how strong their warriors were, but they soon learned that there is ALWAYS someone stronger than you Somewhere in the world.

The gut-punch is in the subtext: They expected no repercussion form this. Not because they were fools, but because that had been 'the natural order of things'.
They strait up turned a non issue into an apocalyptic danger. Rimuru didn't want to fight, he was all for peace, until his people got killed.

There is nothing scarier than a good person who's resolved themselves to war. They won't have struck first, but as God as their witness they will strike last.

Probably because the discarding their highest and thoughtful mindset makes someone conscienceless. Willing to go any lengths. The difference between choosing evil and being attuned to wickedness.
Ironic and pitiable that monsters wearing the faces of people made monsters out of people.
Violence and Cruelty are contagions. Inflict it on one, and the victim becomes violent and cruel themselves. Necessity or otherwise.
A shame that good people like Rimuru had to become tainted with necessary evil because of the cruelty and greed of others.
To become peaceful someone must first be able to do huge amounts of violence. If not, he/she is just harmless

There's no such thing as evil. That's a construct of the moralists. As a concept, the whole good vs evil thing was part of the core beliefs of Zoroastrianism. It influenced the major religions of the west because of osmosis. It was near them, so they naturally took it up over time. So the concept is prevalent in the west... but wholly foreign to shamanistic religions like Tengriism and Shinto. There's taboo, but not an absolute adversarial evil. That concept did reach China via the vehicle of Manicheism, but never became popular there. Even in Buddhism the concept is nebulous and vague at best. Mara is variously described as the personification of people's suffering through desires, or a demon, or a stumbling block necessary to the process of becoming enlightened. Conceptually, Mara is similar to the variety of concepts in Judaism that are collectively referred to as Satan. I've asked 8 Jews about the nature of Satan and gotten 8 answers that were all radically different. This seems to be the case in older non-Persian religions. Christianity and Islam seem to have adversarial absolute evil concepts much closer to the Zoroastrians. But Rimuru being a character in a Japanese story, one must look to his cultural and philosophical basis. Shinto and Buddhism are the major religions in Japan. Other influences are Confucianism, Taoism (and Chinese Astrology by extension), Shugendo, Humanism, and to a lesser extent Christianity and Sectarian Shinto and New Religions (I'm familiar with one sect in particular called Konkokyo, but generally they are henotheistic instead of polytheistic or animistic like mainstream Shinto). Most of the religions in Japan have no concept of evil. Tsumi is a taboo concept rather than a sin concept. There's Amatsumi and (I'm guessing the pronunciation on the second one) Tsuchitsumi. Literally Heavenly and Earthly taboos. Now, every shrine network has its own specific definitions and teachings. But I know a lot of kannushi (priests of Shinto) and typically, while hating someone is taboo and requires purification rites to remove it, I've never seen killing expressly forbidden. There are even Kami of war and weapons are used in rituals. Buddhists typically do forbid killing humans, but some sects say it doesn't matter as long as you change. Case in point, Dazu Huike was a boastful and proud warrior before becoming the 29th Buddha after his master Bodhidharma (who founded the Zen sect). He killed a lot of people, and before meeting Bodhidharma, was rather proud of that fact. This was probably why Zen caught on with the Warrior classes when it was introduced to Japan by Dogen. So, what have we learned so far? In a nutshell: morals are relative to one's culture, Rimuru is Japanese, most Japanese don't have a concept of adversarial evil, and (I hope you inferred that...) it is folly to expect those not of your culture to follow your culture's morality.

Best part about this entire fight is that none of the chars other than rimeru were buffed or got a sudden power up they just weren't nerfed cause of the barrier really goes to show how bad the kingdom messed up picking this fight
It's easy to bully someone when they are weaker then you. Even easy still when they have a weakness you can use against them. But the second you let them get back up on their feet, they will return the favour.
If you cut a king, make sure you kill him, because he will not forget. If you cut a god, he will make sure Karma doesn't miss.

This is amazing, but I would like to point out how busted Megiddo actually is. In the anime, it give the appearance that he was using magic to conjure the water, combined with water manipulation to move it to the best spots, but what he actually did was summon a tone of lesser water spirits to gather water vapour from the air. So the only magic rimiru used was the anti magic area, and the magic needed to summon the spirits. What he used was a breed of magic called physics magic, magic that produces a non magical effect
I was under the assumtion that what he used was the sun, as you said he summoned a bunch of water elementals to works as both mirrors and magnifying glasses for the sun.

@@hisokamorow6709 that's exactly what it is. It's broken for the fact that it ignores people's magic defense because it's purely science and natural energy that's causing the effect. Not magical energy. And most people wouldn't defend if they had high Mag. Defense because they would assume he's using a large scale magic attack
Megiddo is one of the most hateful tools in Rimuru's kit. He designed it for the express purpose of killing tens of thousands of people with no chance of escape. Once you're caught in the initial anti-magic barrier, it's already over for you. All that's left is to wait as the spell picks off you and your compatriots like fish in a barrel.
@@feelinglucky9770 To be fair, it *is* a large scale magic attack. It's just one with a physics based method of causing damage, like using a fireball to snuff [or create] a natural fire.
The ability to conjure and control that many water spirits inherently means you have the majicules to just rain nuke spells instead.
Magido is a terror weapon in conjunction with an antimagic field.
He didn't just destroy them.
He made them feel the encroachment of inevitable, arbitrary death first.
Benimaru would just straight up obliterate half of Falgum’s army with a smile on his face like “you had this coming by attacking our village and starting a war you couldn’t win”

This is the only AMV I could find which fit with this song. Every other AMV to this song was just a popular Anime inserted into an AMV for clicks without understanding the subject matter the song is about.
The magna has a extra chapter about one of the soldiers that wasnt a bad guy and his life with his kids.
He dies happy thinking rimuru is a wrathfull angel that promised to not hurt his kid. But still, it was painfull.

Usually when anyone uses this song in AMV I would have to say obligatorily: "No you missed the whole point of what Draimon was saying. He was preaching against making Joaquin Phoenix "Jokers" of out of people and advocating for the de-escalation and end of worshiping psychopathic killers who just get more famous with every drop of precious innocent blood they spilled that can never be replaced."
...Oddly a you choose one of the few scenes in anime that actually matches up and forces me not to draw my blade in debate. Well done.
