The lesson I learned during the Covid Pandemic it is that the greatest threat to all of us is the large population that have decided that science is a last resort rather than the solution. I firmly believe the US would have had half he deaths if people had only listened to Dr. Fauci rather than making Covid a political issue. Dr. Fauci more than broaches this subject. He is more optimistic than I am.

Fauci explains very well the problems with modern day viruses, and the evolution of these epidemics. He is right that science has to adjust to get things right, thus science has to be flexible to keep up with the changes and adaptability of viruses. With his input and that of other scientists ,and mass vaccination , Covid has been much less dangerous.

@@SaenzFonsi I know what you mean. The vaccination mandates and especially the mask mandates were necessary to stop the spread of Covid thus saved countless lives. Even though the wearing of the mask in public was bothersome it was necessary, and if the mask mandate comes back I will comply out of respect for others so I or they do not spread any virus.

Read the article in The NY Times yesterday in which two right wingers tell you in very subtle language how they plan to win workers over to the .Republican Party, away from Dems should they win the House or the Senate in the Fall.
However, when you read their proposed legislation, it subtly provides monetary benefits to corporations and very little in transferable skills to their trainees. Ditto for the other legislation they plan to use to win workers to their side while actually providing most of the benefits to businesses. Voting for Republicans is a dangerous, self defeating act.

As one of the few voters in this country who read the actual redacted Mueller Report, I remember with great clarity the mention of the perpetrator who could not be indicted given DOJ rules. And I remember filling in the redacted portions with various possible names; one name kept fitting the context each time. (Guess who? I call him He-who-shall-not-be-named.)

Well said and so true. It is a tragedy that the adviser to presidents of both parties for close to the last 38 years should have endured such harassment, threats and anger towards the end of his career. He steered the government with his insights and advice during the times of Ebola, HIV and AIDS, resulting in developments of protocols that saved lives. He should be honored and extolled by a grateful populace rather than vilified by a shortsighted and misguided sub-section of the far right. Thank you Dr. Fauci for your years of service and devotion in preserving the health of our country. I wish you all success in the future.

I'm a believer in natural cures, especially keeping healthy through good lifestyle practices, and have lots of objections to modern medicine and its methods. I also respect anyone who works diligently in their chosen field and lives according to their own beliefs, so I have the utmost admiration for Dr. Fauci and his devotion to the scientific method, a cornerstone of which is to respond to conflicting data and being open to new ideas.
