      Seriously, you blew me away with solid songwriting, a good hook and great production quality. I spent years on-air and hosted a local music showcase every Sunday night for 3 of those years and VERY rarely did I ever get a song this good for airplay. I mean it when I say that this song is solidly put together, has a great hook and hits all the marks of a radio single.
      The next few years may be tough as most A&R guys at the record labels will be weary of working with minors and you may have limited exposure playing live (in the US at least) as many bars/clubs don't allow anyone under 18 in (even if you're with the band!). It's going to be a grind, but keep putting out songs like this and the industry will take notice REALLY quickly.
      I'm blown away and subscribed to your channel so I can keep up with ya. I'll also pass the link to this video around to some friends.
      Keep killing it!!!

    Exciting update! (Triumphant trumpet sound).
    It was announced yesterday that 17 days after Glitch was released, FTF was contacted by a record label. 604 records, out of Vancouver. Google who founded it. They traveled and met with them recently, negotiated, and now have a promotion and distribution deal. No hands on any ownership of any of the music, just getting it into different markets, and no blocking for any reaction channels. This was super important to them.

    • @ReactionsThatRock
      @ReactionsThatRock  2 месяца назад +3

      OMG! I LOVE hearing that! No need for google either. Chad is a hell of a great guy and has been working with independent and unsigned bands forever! I’ve got a funny story I may tell some day of falling asleep on their tour bus and waking up 4 hours away. Of course, that’s from the “Leader of Men” and “Breathe” days.
      Solid representation especially if they’re going to work on distribution. So happy for the band!!! 😍🤩😊

    Great reaction. I am looking forward to where this band goes.
    I believe they have a "future so bright they will need shades"😂😃😏
    I was thinking of another unsigned(as far as I know, unless he recently signed with someone) artist named Dirt Miller. He is from California and has an odd Blues/Country/Rock mix with a twangy voice and excellent guitar skills.
    There is a lot of talent and creativity here. Not my genre taste usually but he's seductively good.
    Check out "Kansas City", Guitar Symphony", or "He was a Good Man."

  • @RussInCanada
    @RussInCanada 4 месяца назад +13

    Awesome analysis! Thanks so much!
    Some random (reasonably accurate) info:
    Quinn, vocals, 16, caught the music bug when she heard The Warning when she was 12. She taught herself guitar by learning Dany's parts. She met them in 2022, and got her guitar signed.
    The mask was an artistic choice, representing the lyrics, which talk about wanting to be more robotic, and less of an emotional sponge, taking on other people's problems.
    This EP was crowdfunded by Kickstarter last fall, and with a target of $5000, they doubled that, with 80% of the money coming from outside Canada (The Warning Army, mostly).
    This video was filmed in a barn loft last month, which explains why you can occasionally see her breath.
    They're from the town that I went to high school in, in the 80's, and I'm heading back there on April 6th for their EP release party.
    Daughters of Witches is another good original from them. Footage is decent amateur club shot.

    • @ReactionsThatRock
      @ReactionsThatRock  4 месяца назад +5

      I can see that about the mask now although being flat white it had less of a robotic vibe and more of an "I'm not here" vibe... which I guess works too. I thought the breath visual was an after effect... good to see Canadians can still keep warm during all 11 months of hockey season!
      ... and yes, I can make these jokes. My grandparents are from the suburbs of Quebec and my last name ends in "eau". :-)

    Eight months ago they posted seven videos from a live performance that they did. Two of the videos were covers, Evolve by The Warning, and The Pretender by The Foo Fighters. The other five were original songs. The cover of Evolve is what caught my attention. The originals were what got me to subscribe to their channel and follow them.
    As noted they are young, and have been together as a band for less than two years.
    I have enjoyed all of their originals, and find their lyrics very evocative. My favorite of those from the live show is Daughters of Witches.

    • @jimlaheta8864

      Awesome. I’m subscribed to their channel now and will be following closely. It’s going to be a hard couple of years having the band and school but they really do have a great presentation and sound and from what I can tell, their originals have a unique enough sound to stand out with a modern rock vibe acceptable to most labels. It’s a HARD balance to sound unique but still radio/record company friendly. I think they found it masterfully!

      @@ReactionsThatRock From what I have seen of them they fit together well as friends, and not just as a band. Also they seem to have a really solid support network in their parents.

  • @NoSmokingDogs

    Another supporter of this band here, great analysis and observations. As for the vocals, I'm going to surmise that it was their choice to sing it that way. It will be interesting to see them perform this live, especially when they're older as you've been told their current ages. While they have some more originals done in a live setting with decent but not great audio, suggest waiting for their next studio release coming soon.
    And to better answer your production question, they held a Kickstarter promotion of which I'm a contributor, and nearly doubled their initial ask. This money went towards a professional recording studio which is why the track sounds so good. I see great things in their future, all three are excellent players and their songwriting is very impressive. The full EP is due in April if I recall.

    • @ReactionsThatRock
      @ReactionsThatRock  4 месяца назад +3

      Oh, I agree that it was definitely a vocal choice and it didn’t do the song any harm at all. I’m just hoping there’s a track on the EP where she really goes for it as I think she could probably handle it quite well.
      I’m not sure how the laws work in Canada but in the US they’d have a hard time playing real clubs being under 18. Seems like they do have some shows booked already though so that’s good.
      I’m really liking what I hear so I’m definitely on board long term! 🤘😎🔥

    So excited that you found Freeze The Fall - I just found them this past summer - I'm one of the TWA that fell in love with FTF and helped with their KS campaign since these 3 really need to be heard. As others mentioned, the band has many live videos on their channel - my favorite is One Left Standing but I think the band's favorite from that show is Daughters of Witches. Regarding Quinn's vocals in Glitch, I took your comments as just an observation not a criticism/critique - hope no one tears into you about it; but know that Quinn can really let it loose on command!
    Side note: love that you know Nonpoint -- can Alive and Kicking ever be played too loud??

    • @ReactionsThatRock
      @ReactionsThatRock  4 месяца назад +2

      Alice and Kicking (as well as Tribute of their first album) are my favorites and can never be loud enough.
      I had no problem with her vocals at all. I just want to hear her really go for it! That’s a personal preference / observation and if anyone takes issue, I’m tough enough to put up with it. ;-)
      Love seeing the support these kids (sorry kids for calling you kids) are getting. Just awesome!

    Not much of a criticism, actually quite a complement, and yea, I think there's more gas in that tank. Their ages being 15 and 16, I would venture to say that vocalist hasn't even grown into her instrument yet. What might we be hearing from her in, say, five years?
