Super excited for the follow up to this book, I have so many questions.

Yes! His little references at the tops of the chapters were a gold mine for Easter eggs! Also, he references a C. Lewis which I think is a nod to CS Lewis who wrote the Magician’s Nephew which Lawrence said directly influenced his portrayal of the Exchange. And the name of the raven is Edgarallen…as in Edgar Allen Poe who wrote the poem the Raven! And at one point when one of Evar’s siblings is in the mechanism, he says the door is a round green door with a bronze door nob in the middle-a clear reference to the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings. Honestly, this entire book is just a trove of Easter eggs for people who love to read ❤️ I absolutely love it and am in my second read through now!
Omg you’re right! I caught the raven and hobbit one, but missed the Narnia one?! 😹 This book feels like a celebration of all books and reading in general. (I just started The Book that Broke the World too!)
