My favorite line in this song is at the end: The shadows are closing in, asking "What are you?"
This is because in the first episode Kage meets Bojji and said "What are you?"
Kage wa semaru "omae wa nandatto?"~
and in Japanese kage (影) mean the shadow

Yeah I thought of Kage, but also Miranjo since now she a show in the mirror. As they encounter each other, she was suprise she help him. Fit the line too with her.
I thought that Kage wa semaru "omae wa nandatto?" means that our shadows from the past ask us who are today significantly different from the past. (sorry bad english)
That scene in the opening where Hiling was hugging bojji is just 😭
It made me want to hug my mom so badly, it hits so deep that I actually need my mom to hold me like I'm back to being a toddler TwT
Boji with Hiling, Kage with his mom, Daida with mirror-ver Miranjo, and Bebin with the 3 headed snake.. reading it like this, the part with Bebin should've been funny, but the way they put the animation made it also seems sad

What I meant is the first opening looks like a chill slice of life adventure anime . But the second opening has that Action vibes . Especially when King Bosse swinging his Weapon .

At first I was super dissatified about the change in theme songs, but I just didn't expect that I would replay this songs so many times like this. This is the best.
I thought I would be dissatisfied too bc I really liked the first one, but honestly both the theme songs are so good in their own right. The first one had a more cute and wholesome tone and this one just seems more mature and cool and I like that.

I didn’t care much for the first one but the second hits so damn hard that I have to watch the opening every time. It makes me nervous for when season 2 comes out because I don’t think it will top or even match how great this opening is.
They're both good but this is one I always love to replay every now and then. The opening alone was a rollercoaster of emotions which is why its my favourite and I'm so glad WIT was the one who did the story justice

なまくら(鈍) means blunt-sword. It was used as a Metaphor for "Lack of experience" or "Weakness" in Japanese a long time ago. I have never heard this expression for over 20 years. Anyway, I appreciate your translation as I love this song too.

So the translation of that sentence is "This blunt sword that someone left behind, before the darkness consume... "

Nokoshite "ittana" doesn't even exist. ittana is no word. the word it "itta" which mean left in past tense. "Nokoshite itta" = leave behind. "namakura" is then a dull sword.
And I said check the line before. Song is not about stand-alone lines, it continues the previous one.

Didn't skip this when I watched this series. And I always "choked tears" everytime it plays.
when I first heard this song, while I understand very little Japanese, I immediately felt this overwhelming yet warm feeeling of "i know its been hard but don't give up" and immediately teared up with just the song's melody. When I dove in to the lyrics, I can't stop tearing up man. It's such a beautiful song.

I love the contrast between Boy (the first op) and this. The beginning half is relatively storybook-esque, but as soon as Hadaka No Yuusha appears, it lets you know that shit is gonna go down. It doesn't lose the storybook aspect, but it definitely gets a bit heavier. And that is why I love this show and it hurts that it's show is so overlooked

It brings me the same feelings as Made in Abyss and this opening is definitely comparable to the moment you see the sunrise on the abyss. So much wonder and goosebumps.

I literally picked this series up because I heard this song. I have no regrets as the show is a heartwarming, emotional experience just like this song.
One thing that I noticed is the lyrics coincidence with each character like
" And the curse that fell upon me" showing Ouken suffering from immortality
Guess it's rather outlined for Bojji since he is suffering the curse his father put on him
always loved this song from the first time i heard it in the anime, but never knew what the lyrics mean, and then i found this video, haven't been crying like this in past decade

Song is perfectly written or picked for the anime series. It is beautifully sad and joyous at the same time that gives you a feeling of inspiration to overcome any obstacles life throws at you. The style reminds me of a Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins song.
