Indeed! Maneuvering to get bandit inside the reticle is difficult, harder still to keep it steady there for a couple of seconds.

Install laser sensors on the target plane that triggers a plume of black smoke when hit. Of course you would also have to install a laser firing mechanism on the belligerent. Love this hobby, the sky is the limit. Thanks for the inspiration!

A smoke cannister going off as a visual aid when you scored a hit would be the icing on the cake on this set up . But I see this is 2 years old so maybe thats already a thing now

This is so totally rad!!! Now THIS is a hobby I can get into! Couple this with dog fights with either an infrared laser tag setup or maybe even airsoft and you've got a serious fight on your hands. Too cool!

There was a lovely young 87 year old woman who flew spitfires back in the day. She did farry missions from the factory to the airfields in great Britain.. She said of the spit.. "She's a lady in the air. But she's a BITCH on the ground!!" Good flying brother!

Nice chase & in cockpit Video Bro. I really thought that FPV was really neat, till this video. The narrow field of view and restricted view from the Spit cockpit actually make me a bit nauseous, but then I can't watch FPV racing either. The shots from the chase Quad were fine, No vertigo there. Go Figure.
The videos are good but I'd think real R/Cers would be more interested in the Equipment & it's Installation/costs.

김선학 Yes, at this point. No real bullets are fired. The main point was to showcase the usefulness of reflector sight and head-tracker camera to give pilot the feeling of flying from the cockpit!
How was the cam hooked up to your TX? did you make it on a switch or something?? I'm building a corsair myself and want so see if this is actually possible for me to do, hehe.
Andrew F. This camera is hooked up to built-in head-tracker in DJI Goggles RE. So no RC transmitter channel is involved. I have used other head-tracker system such as Fatshark Trinity External module which is hooked up to FrSky Tarranis TX using trainer (audio) cable.

Great video. What I'd like to see is an evolution in R/C dogfighting that would make it more like laser tag. What you could do is have the laser tag type gun or guns and a sensor linked to a smoke machine in each plane that activates after a certain number of hits

FYI I have been pimping this video all over Facebook groups as the discussion of the new "improved" DJI FPV Air system heats up... Folks aren't even aware of how awesome the prior system can be! I use this video and your channel as an example of how capable it can be!
Protonus Thank you Protonus for sharing this. That explains the sporadic spikes I see on views. Much appreciate it! We need more scale FPV pilots to join our ranks so manufactures continue to develop products for this segment. Features like global shutter (for correct prop strobing), Pan and tilt head-tracking, Real time sound transmission all contribute to authentic in cockpit experience. I believe with the proper setup, flight sim enthusiasts, full scale pilots and of course vast majority of RC fixed wing flyers would enjoy scale FPV flying!

2EnjoyEverything No live rounds just sound FX, or I would be in jail... haha. Video out put is real out of DJI Goggles RE Combo camera - not very good especially in low light - and it is what I see real time. Better option now is the DJI Digital FPV System.

Very easy to arm this plane with real fire arms. Small semiautomatic pistol with large servo pulling the trigger coupled with this awesome gun sight lol
Change out controls to Cellular 4G or 5G and you could fly anywhere from your house.. batteries would be your only limitation

Gaming with Jacobi I used DJI Goggles Race Edition Combo which included camera, goggles, air unit (vTx) & head-tracker. Need to get a separate PPM to PWM converter between air unit and servos (pan & tilt). That’s it.

Is this ND 16 filter applied?
This camera has global shutter, so strobing looks more natural. ND16 would eliminate rolling shutter effect on your camera.

Hi: I flew full scale for a short time. The landings have an whole experience feeling with it. IE it feels great to come in on long final. There are PAPI lights that help with descend angle. It is a simple series of 4 lights or 5 that can be seen at various angles. Could such a PAPI light be done on your runway fpv PAPI? Would you consider making a set and make video? It woudl enhance your whole immersive experience to use PAPI for descend rate and you can even place obstacle like tree and the PAPI help you clear the tree FPV. thx. What do you think?

Scratch up a "probable". I think FPV landing a Spit must be challenging!
This Avios Spitfire has especially tippy ground handling because in addition to the narrow stance, the wheels are also canted inward at the bottom (positive camber) making it very easy to drag a wingtip if the wheel track is not exactly in alignment the planes momentum.
@@motionsic Yes it looks tricky! Do you have any toe in by accident? That makes a huge difference too. I made my own oleos for my durafly spit and during testing I would very carefully fiddle with the wheels to make sure they were dead straight. I once got it wrong and had them fractionally toed in and well, it was a total waste of time trying to use the rudder on the ground! Take off at 90 deg - and wing tip dragging. I have settled on the wheels being almost imperceptibly toed out and a wingtip never scuffs now. I think the 109 would be even more tricky.

@@motionsic No problem, I hope it works for you. Mine is very fractional mind - so that the play in the wheels on the axle can counter it - so it doesn't put pressure on the legs trying to push them out too hard. Takes a nice flat floor and pushing the plane back and forth many times until you are happy. There is a lot of discussion on toe in and toe out online but I think many people get in a muddle with tricycle and tailwheel aircraft. For tail wheel, I am sure toe out makes things better. Best of luck - I'll keep and eye on your clips and check the landings :)

Not shooting any projectiles. Just make belief sound effects, using the reflector sight in this video. Will be using laser tag soon...

It is so frustrating to have that added artificial crap noise when the music of the native sounds of the engine and the gravel on take off and landing would have been much better.
