The new VAILLANT ECOTEC (2012 onwards) have no user controls and replaced them with a single LCD display, with a series of scrolling menus.
This is not a user friendly control, and can be difficult to navigate through without the User Instructions booklet.
In this video I will show you how to adjust the temperature of the hot water, and radiators using the LCD display.

Why is it when I go away for 4 days (in summer) and switch off the hot water on my Danfuss timer, that my Vaillant boiler just wont work when I return (on a Friday night when I can't get an engineer until the following week meaning that I have to use the emersion heater which is now as expensive as a facelift ). Once upon a time I had an efficient boiler the size of a small Hifi speaker that never broke down, then it was replaced with a supposedly "more efficient boiler" that has an instruction book as thick as Radio Times - which spends its first pages telling you how wonderful it is - but which for a numbskull with mild dyslexia is as enthralling as a prostate examination. What ever happened to "ON" and "OFF". Is it a Government employment scheme???? Hopefully I will get the data here. Thank you for trying at least!
Thanks for this video. When the Comfort is on does the On continue to flash please. Also, any reason why my sink is very hot and my shower only gets luke warm - they are positioned side by side in the bathroom.

I hope you can help and advice me with my problems to have not warm water since yesterday if I took all the air of the radiators out. Before everything works perfect and I thought is time to take air out of the radiators. I also opened one of the radiators from one of my rooms on and after that the pressure from the warm water side is very very low and we don’t have warm water because of the low pressure. I also had to turn the heating off if I get warning sign and was scared to something happened. At the moment no heating and no warm water if the water pressure is very low from the heat side.
Please help and advise me what to to. I do have exactly the same Vaillant boiler as you show on this video.

Hi just watched your short clips on issues on the Vaillant boiler, my question is if you can kindly assist, that my boiler won't switch off at the thermostat which has just had new batteries in. It continues to run even when switched off from the boiler it self. Once turned on it again automatically runs the heating on. It's a pain as the boiler is not responding to my thermostat to turn off the heating and from the main switch off button either. What must it be?

Hi, thanks for stopping by, that button is a restart button. You hold it dor 3seconds and it reignites the boiler. You usually do this if you have a fault showing on the screen. I hope this helps. Hi thanks for being so thoughtful in the current situation.I wonder if you could advise me on my valliant eco tec pro which has a separate thermostat its in the hall away from boiler in kitchen a child touched the settings I have it on manual the screen shows he1N above the word cylinder which is normal but im afraid to touch left dial- control as theres a whole menu and I dont want to loose heating Im quite worried as to what heIN means..Any advice would be welcome...!
Hi there. I honestly wouldn’t know if I can’t see it. But it might be worth switching it off at the mains “button on the wall near boiler” and back on. It sort of restarts it. I hope this helps. Hi - is there a way of turning on the heating without a wireless thermostat, so from the boiler itself manually? I used to have manual dials on my old boiler that I used to turn on my heating - how do I do that here?

Hi thanks for the video! Might be a silly question but do you just leave your radiators on at 70-80 degrees during winter? With all my previous boilers I have been able to set a timer to choose when the heating turns on and off but I can't see a way to do that with the Valliant EcoTECH pro.

As per your question I usually control it on the thermostat but yes, I usually leave it at about 70 degrees on the boiler.
@@fitnessEris Hi thank you I have done! I've been looking a bit more into why my boiler isn't working properly. I have set the heating flow temperature to 70 degrees, however the heating only comes on very late at night and seemingly quite at random. I can't find a thermostat in the flat so am unsure how I am supposed to set the required heating flow temperature - there is no mention of this in the user manual for the boiler. Also, when I check the status of the boiler it says it is S.31 meaning it is in summer mode, but there is no icon on the display to indicate summer mode is on. The manual seems to suggest that to turn summer mode off you just have to increase the heating flow temperature, which I have already done. Do you have any advice?
My eco TEC plus 637 is showing

I managed to get the pressure up to 3.0 then shut the valve.
But it is still slowly climbing and got to 3.4!!!
I now have only radiators hot but not tap water.
Is this dangerous.

One more question what water temperature should i set it?
Thank you for the support, I would suggest set it at the same temp as the heaters first and open the hot water tap and see if your happy with that set of temperature. If not than you could decide from there whether you want it higher or lower. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anymore help. I have a few more boiler vids on my channel, they might help. If both valves are closed underneath (mains in and valve open) then would there be any other reason other than one or both are defective that is causing the pressure to elevate? he changed the expansion vessel - just wondering why it’s taking them 4-5 attempts?! thx 4 vids m8 btw! 😊👍

Hi can I turn on my radiators from this control panel as I need my heating on and it only comes on sometimes.
@stuartramplin9265 - from here you can turn the temperature from low to high depending how hot you want them to get and then control your heaters from the thermostat or individually at the knob next to the heater. If they don’t come on, the heaters might need bleeding. Could i plesse ask if you can hit the subscribe button Sir- I would really appreciate it and it would mean so much. Hi there, I have Vaillant boiler with same control panel (but is an ECOtec plus 637) I get no response from the left hand button and no image of the tap comes up. (Central heating control is all working fine) - nothing in the manual trouble shooting section. Any ideas?
There might be something wrong with the digital side of it to be honest if you’re not getting a response

Mime doesnt show the tap icon (water ) so I cant adjust my water temperature . Does that mean that its faulty, Ive got exactly same boiler as in this video.
It might be, or it maybe a different version. I wouldn’t be able to advise if im not there unfortunately 😔

Hi, I’ve got a vaillant ecoTec pro and for the past week I haven’t had any heating. I replaced the boiler control screen but it won’t start up and it’s saying communication fault and it’s frozen on that. Please could you help!
Thank you for your comment. It looks like it might be a manufacturer fault. Try switching it off on the mains ( usually a button next to boiler on the wall) and turn on after 5 minutes.Meanwhile would you mind showing your support by hitting the subscribe button, it would mean allot and also check out the other boiler videos i have on my channel and let me know if its any help. @@fitnessEris sure why not. It’s been like this for the past week with no hot water or heating, and I have already tried turning it off from the mains. After replacing the screen it kept coming up with a connection fault and now all of a sudden it started up and is heating but the fault is still on the screen and won’t let me change the temperature on the boiler.

Might sound dumb but how do you actually switch the heating on/off
Please press the subscribe button it would help me alot 🙏🏻 to switch the boiler on and off, there shout be a switch on the wall next to it. If its just the heating you want off, you can do it from your thermostat.

Regarding the temperature I think the low 40s is enough to warm up the heaters and water as I have a small flat and also under 50 its energy efficient. The only reason I asked is because my boiler was running at 75 degrees and since I had my boiler service (yday) it has been sitting on around 53....

Have you tried doing a restart?
There should be a mains button on the wall. Switch it off and wait for 2 min than turn it on again.

Thank you for your reply. That did work for a while then it packed up completely. Turned out to be the pump. That's the 3rd one 🥴 Have definitely subscribed 👍🏻🙂👍🏻
It’s the pump over run it does that so the boiler looses its heat into the heating system before going into standby, and if pump valve s noisy check the system pressure 1.5 cold system to rise up to 2-2.5 at hot running temps hope that helps
@@lindylou3050 If you have had three pumps the system water may be contaminated. There should be a magnetic filter on the return pipe to the boiler. If not one should be fitted plus system flush and inhibitor fluid installed. I hope that helps. A lot of “plumbers” do not service boilers as recommended. 🙃

My water starts off a little warm but then goes cold. The flame bar on the left whilst the water is on stays at level one. And the water stays ice cold.

Hi there. The bar should be just in the middle or just below the middle. Not at the top end as you may need to release pressure from the radiators with a special key. Hope this helps. Hi there. Switch it off at the main button on the wall and leave it for 2 minutes. Than switch it back on. That should re-set the boiler. Hope ot helps. URGENT: I just went to stick my heating on. Nothing.
The boiler is flashing a SPANNER symbol and that BAR symbol (at lowest point). I phoned Vaillant - something to do with pressure in the pipes?
(guy the phone said the braided metal pipe sat on floor of boiler cupboard should be FIXED to something).

Valient do not recommend a flow temp of 75° this is not at all a working efficiency for most combi boilers.
I don’t have the tap cymbal so cannot adjust tap water temperature we have same boiler. Tap water far too hot engineer won’t tell us how to do it,
I would sugest rebooting the system by holding the round button under the screen with the flame button on it. If it still not showing, turn the boiler off at the mains and turn on again after a minute. Let me know if that restores it. @@fitnessEris i just been told its a vailant combi boiler. And the tap cimbal thing wont be on that model. Engineer adjusted tap water temperature near to the emersian heater just next to it inside the same flap.

It does not work, I just got mine today, I have no radiator and I have no gas signals on my screen. I have tap and radiator on the menu but that is all. So you are showing no one anything to be honest.
I have F24 error
This video does make no sense about why there is hot water but no heat. Comfort zone was on already in the beginning and turned off an on again the heater started to work.
