I am Japanese. Momo sounds slow because she is trying to speak the standard Japanese language, but as you can see in other videos, it's very smooth when speaking with the Kansai dialect. I'm sorry if the grammar is strange because it's from a translator!

What's the whole ordeal with the Kansai dialect? Is it like the Japanese version of a southern drawl?
@@ghivifahmi4252 Not sure what you mean by southern drawl, but basically its a bit different from japanese standard language. A dialect includes pronunciation, vocabulary and sometimes even grammar can be totally different. For example, "Thank you" in standard language is Arigatou, but in Kansai-ben its Ookini.
Thats why it could be hard for people that have dialect to speak standard language, just like Momo here. Sana is an outlier because she is a language genius as proven by how quick she pickes up Korean 😂

Why does it feel like Momo gotten a little slower with her Japanese? She’s probably just getting confused, since it’s hard knowing two languages perfectly. Sana in the other hand is killing it with both languages
i think that she said something like since she went to korea at a young age and learned a new lenguage she tends to forget things in japanese, and She's always worried about that, and more in front of a camera
@@cherrybombastic Sana went to South Korea at the same age too (when she was 16) but she is still confident and fluent in Japanese. I just think language isn't Momo's forte. :p But that's okay. You can't be good at everything.

Nayeon might act like a pabo, but she's actually kinda smart. She can adopt and learn a language pretty fast. Her slight fluency in Japanese & English makes her one of the best speakers in TWICE.

@@twitzmixx8374 jinjja means something close to "really" in korean im pretty sure and sumimasen is japanese for "excuse me" "im sorry" and some other stuff. i dont really know how to directly translate sumimasen, it makes more sense in japanese haha. but they were pointing out the fact that Nayeon was mixing korean and japanese together into one statement lol
