    What hurts the most is that when you're finally happy, your mind will immediately think that "the happiness won't last long and you will be sad right after so DON'T be too happy or it'll hurt you more" and straight up imagining negative thoughts and stuffs to change your mood really fast.

      💔i think this is what hurts most about the the whole overthinking and anxiety problem. nearly ruined my hard earned job interview today..it has ruined many things for me;friendships,relationships,opportunities,etc😟,,like,,can one just have peace and be present just for a month,week,day,hour,,minute😟😟🙆🏾‍♂️

      Finally I feel I'm not alone, literally millions of people suffer from this.
      To be honest it feels good not to be the only one.

    People don’t know the actual pain of overthinking, sometimes I overthink about some very dark stuff to the point I start shaking and sweating and on those moments I’d feel very lonely and depressed af and the cruel part is that u have no control over it..

    Today my therapist said something interesting: when we don’t understand something we create an answer for it. Hours later I started overthinking about something and realized I was using the mechanism she mentioned and it makes perfect sense. So I just told myself the same thing and it’s like realizing you’re dreaming, suddenly I feel in control again.

      I think you don't know what you live for, nor do you know who created you so beautifully, you ypu think about your future.
      you think about your behavior and how to control it.
      You think the things around you are right and wrong.
      you Think about people's comments and criticisms.
      you Ask yourself some questions that you don't need but you have to answer when you feel like a crazy philosopher.
      I know you sometimes tell you self "I'm honest, good,so why the life bother me ??"
      If you need to survive this problem first ask yourself "who created me, why he created me?"
      The One who created you can take away that problem and give you a sweet life,not this bad life in this world because He created you in the first place to have mercy on you if you obey His command.
      I am a muslim, in the last few years i have been behaving the way you live, meaning i am a muslim and i was forgot my creator that time"god" , i was listening to music, i was doing bad things like "meeting girls".
      , I tried to solve every problem I encountered normally "alone" but I couldn't.
      Today I am back and I have returned to Allah and I have found happiness, confidence, courage and power and everything has become easier for me because I always recite the glorious Qur'an "the word of Allah" regularly.
      please come join us so that you do not miss the sweetness of life in this world and the next that awaits us after death.
      don't underestimate my point and look for the real islam by forgetting the little idea that "islam is a terrorist".
      please save yourself i don't need anything from you.

      I think all the time of being scared to go into water even fresh lakes I think there’s always something that will kill me and I can’t control it if I try to swallow something and it doesn’t go down right away I get anxiety and start panicking and then I can’t swallow anything Bc I overthink it way too much and always thinking I’m going to die.

      heyy. u know I used to feel the same way, and one thing I did that changed my whole mindset on this is thinking "yeah I look good, I don't blame them for looking. my outfit is super nice" everytime I go out, I would feel confident in what I'm wearing, and that would change my whole perspective on things. because know its hard, but you shouldn't care about what other ppl think of u. if you internally feel good, that radiates, and other ppl see that confidence too.       I was like that too and still am it was a non stop for like 2 years and I got really depressed lost so many friends, and no motivation for school, and I just wanted to give up. But I started working out and it felt much better, and I was spending a lot of time alone, but socializing in the internet. So now its much better. But remember just work out and eat healthy u will be ok trust.m! Stay strong! I love you all!

    I always overthink about
    1)embarassing shit I did in the past,in a way that makes me end up thinking this is the only way people rember me
    2)everything I do,especially when other people are involved (it eventually ended up with me being really scared of social interactions to a point where I’m not capable of making new friends cause I’m too scared I will mess everything up)
    2)my lonliness

      everything u said describes me too.. i cant even get into relationships because i always overthink EVERYTHING. like ik it’s normal for people to overthink, but for me it’s always, non stop overthinking about every little situation/scenario. story of my life. and yeah i think soon it’s gonna be even friendships that i won’t be able to have bc i just overthink and it’ll just go down the drain. im pretty sure i have super bad social anxiety so like i can’t ever really talk to people that well/hold a convo bc in my head there will be non stop thoughts like what i’m supposed to say, how they’ll react, etc. also mb for typing this whole ass essay to ur comment lol, just makes me feel less sad/ hopeless that i’m not the only one. i hope your overthinking gets better over time 🙂

      NikkieH14 well, this is the reason I have been watching this, although it may not seem like I have had a reason to overthink, it’s just the way I process it and I know it’s not very normal but hey I have to fight it instead of constantly ask myself “why did I become this person or start thinking so deeply about things?” It’s the only way to stop my overthinking and I play sports and I know I can be great but sometimes I let the negativity get to me and it’s terrible. If your reading this and you have overthought on a girl, or what your life should or is, or what you are afraid of it turning out to be or you are looking back at the past or anything just remember that if you think in the present day you cannot have fear, watch a video on that and you will understand, stay strong I wish you all luck and chase your dreams nothing is impossible, the only person making it seem impossible or stopping yourself is YOU!

      revurts wow u just find the perfect name for my anxiety, yesss mee too, i have social anxiety. thinking what people might think of me if i do this or that, what if they look down on me, what if i hurt their feelings, what if they dont respect me, do i do the right thing in social events, afraid meeting people, and so on. scary voices in head keep telling me to just chill and sleep in my house but it holds me back from living my life to the fullest. hope your anxiety gets better now :)))

    I feel like I’m trapped in my mind. I overthink mostly everyday and it really gets in the way of everything that i do. It’s easier said than done whenever people say “just don’t think”. Even in my sleep my thoughts would be racing that I couldn’t be able to sleep at all. I just hope I and everyone will find peace in their mind soon❤️

      I have psychosis and delusional disorder and haven't done anything in my every day life for a long time but just be on my phone while intense dark times happen at the same time so it really fuck me up to have repeated weird or random thoughts or words or memorys unstil I stabilized my life more by a more routine responsibly and recreational things and take strong meds and also be self adware and repeat be relax be in reality not give a f.. It has made me distant of possible love partners until more stabilized but I know it possible to fix or duct tape if actually go ham on it by the right counter mindset.. Meds.. And more of a fun and heathly and responsibly combo routine

    I overthink so much that I don't even mention what I'm thinking about. And doing this makes me very nervous. I try my best to stop but overthinking is just a habit that it is very hard to make it go away.

      Don't stress mate. It's called Intrusive thoughts. Everyone has them, it's just the amount of attention that you choose to give to it that makes it different for you. I'm going through the same thing right now. Thoughts aren't reality and I always think that if I pay too much attention to it, I could actually go mentally insane, but you just have to find closure and after doing so, you can try ignore the thoughts now that you've attended to them and you've solved it. You won't see changes immediately but keep trying 🌻✊

    I overthink pretty much everything about myself. As soon as someone I care about gives me a sign that I did something wrong or act like they think I’m annoying I start overthinking and think the worst case scenario. This tiny little sign can actually just be that my friend is having a bad day, but it can haunt me for like a month and eventually I start thinking that it’s something wrong with me and that I should change myself. This often happens when I start getting intimate relationships with people. As soon as they act just a little bit different than they use to I start looking after flaws on myself, both on my outside and my inside. I wish I could be happy and confident about myself and stop worrying so much about what everyone thinks about me, I mean I know that not everyone can love me, but my brain and anxiety doesn’t want to know that.

    I hardly trust someone...even my love relationship and I overthink every detail to "prevent" something bad happens to me...

      I started to write in a notebook about me and my negative thoughts to realise what I am, then I'm writing the positive version.
      I started to meditate...to listen my breath and the environment.
      Also, my girlfriend is helping me by talking with me about all thoughts...and she is encourraging me...this helps me to gain trust in her.
      I'm asking questions too, like: why am I thinking about this? is this makes me happy? where do I want to reach with those thoughts?...or any kind of question that make you be positive.
      I'm trying to realise that I can't control anybody...this is illegal also :)) and if something bad will happen to me, I'll take the decision then.
      I hope that at least 1 of these ideas will help you.

    I am a maladaptive daydreamer, and, it's been really hard for me. I always act like everything is fine, I laugh, smile, give compliments to others, while thinking about crazy things nobody would expect me to imagine. Everybody always tells me I have a "perfect" life. But no, nobody knows I am a maladaptive thinker. Everyday I think about going to the therapist, but that isn't easy. I'm praying for all the other maladaptive thinkers, ppl with anxiety, deppression, more. You're not alone.

    For the last few years I have been surrounded by people who have personalities that are difficult for me to deal with. Interaction with them on a regular basis is unavoidable, and it has eroded my sense of self-worth because their natural tendency is to be critical of everything and do not easily appreciate or acknowledge my accomplishments. I was an overthinker to begin with, but recently it has gotten out of hand with me second guessing everything I do, and devaluing my own opinion, interests and achievements. Right now I am trying to pass a very important exam, but overthinking is hampering my preparations. This video made sense to me. I could help me. Thanks!

      @@ommsuryavanshi4363 Focus on yourself so hard that you blurr out the existence of these people most of the time. That's what helped me. When you are truly happy and feel engrossed in goals you set for yourself, ride high on the achievement of those goals, these people start to fade away.

      @@kyha7861 To feel better reduce negative thoughts with a simple practice. Your breath and mind [brain] are closely related and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. Let change happen. When taking a walk, sitting in a park, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Reduce negative social media. Avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes. Senior Counsellor.

    I overthink about my future , I wanted it to be in a way , a particular order or fashion... , but things are getting so far away from what I imagined..
    That's when I thought , wait this is not the right thing .. that I really need to switch off the voices in my head
    I did... All of a sudden I became empty. , Blank..
    And I eagerly waited for the frst thought to arrive..
    My thought which came was
    "And I immediately realised... That I'm in the moment , what to do NOW "
    Im glad, that the moment I became self aware ,and wanted to completely switch off my mind.. , is the exact moment automatically my mind gave me the right thought for the present ... i believe u don't have to ignore yur mind. Just shape it to work according to you.
    You know what I did now..
    Searched for these videos and became even more aware .

      +Kath Cohn maybe you need to learn how to identify REAL “danger´s” (you can ask people who care for help) and decide if the fear is appropriate / acceptable or not- (mostly it´s not as dramatic as our imagination make´s it up to be) -and it can also be the case that your balance between negative and positive thinking needs to be fixed, so you need to focus a lot more on the positive*, this will be easier when your anxious mind is taken care of (= you are also learning to identify REAL risks/dangers.)
      *so realy try to search for more positive things
      of course there is no instead change by tomorrow, but certainly after a feew weeks (make some notes or take a picture if you realy want to change something) :)

      Yeah I'll do something, or text something, regret it... and then if there isn't a reply, or something, I blame myself and I think that they're thinking "That guy is weird and a loser. Who says that?" But in reality, it's not as serious as I think it is. It's usually just a Shrug your shoulders type of thing. But I y overthinking is really hard on me. I need to learn to just "stop caring?" But "not stop caring" at the same time? I guess just not let it get to me on a personal level.

      I have psychosis and delusional disorder and haven't done anything in my every day life for a long time but just be on my phone while intense dark times happen at the same time so it really fuck me up to have repeated weird or random thoughts or words or memorys unstil I stabilized my life more by a more routine responsibly and recreational things and take strong meds and also be self adware and repeat be relax be in reality not give a f.. It has made me distant of possible love partners until more stabilized but I know it possible to fix or duct tape if actually go ham on it by the right counter mindset.. Meds.. And more of a fun and heathly and responsibly combo routine

    I over think on what I do. I always think I'm doing something wrong, or I could have done better. Like after I hang out with friends, I just think about everything I thought I did wrong, and I should have done better. And it now I'm just constantly thinking negitivly about myself.

      I do it it too I always stay quite sometimes with friends coz I worry if I gonna embarrass myself or say something stupid it really bad around girls aswell coz I want to be flirty but worry I gonna be creepy or somthing so instead I come off as boring I usual doubt myself all the time but I’ve notice I getting better I going gym more talking more feeling happier in myself still a little quiet in some situations and still feel like I should’ve said something but nowing that I said more than last time makes me happier each time hang in there I know it will get better for us all on her. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. When taking a walk, at office, in school, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Reduce negative media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

      Hello brother my dad is ill and depressed, I imagine a lot of scenarios just like you do. But I end the though saying to myself that he will go to place better than this earth soon and won't live as miserably as he is living now. Life is unpredictable and tough brother, *Everyone who takes birth has to die someday* That's what my father says every now and then. So not stress about the things you can't control

    The other different pain is that when you're finally happy about something, your mind immediately tells you to stop being too happy or the sadness that would overtake will hurt you so much. Which me ending up having no happiness anymore, I don't know what else to say because I have ALOT in mind that I don't like to think about yet it stays there...

      Try to be little better of yourself than yesterday yourself . Not to be better than others. Small change of yourself .
      For example ,
      If ur friend read a book once a day and u don't read at all, try to read one sentence of anything any article for one day. So u are better than yesterday . Try to increase slowly by increase it by 2 sentences after 2 months. U will read one book per day eventually . Don't compare yourself with others. Compare yesterday yourself with today yourself

      1. Observe the opposite
      if you see something try to think of the completely opposite output. For example , if you see a person crying , think why person is not crying but not why is he crying . If you see someone rich, think what happen if he is poor. If you get hurt think what if i haven't got hurt.
      2. 10,10,10 rule.
      Think of a result of an action after 10 seconds 10 minutes 10 hours .
      3. Often happening
      Most of the time things about to happen is what always happen . If you smoke you will get cancer . If you work hard you will get better results.
      So try to think like in above criteria . You will be smarter everyday

    As soon as you said "Not getting caught up by the noise in your head" I thought yeah, that's me.I do walk around not paying attention to things around me, i am too focused on what is going on inside my head. This is especially bad when i am walking around with my significant other or my friends/family, but when you say "Pay attention to you environment" I don't know how to, i do try, i try really hard, but i just keep relapsing back to being stuck in my own head, i can't focus on watching a video or doing what i normally enjoy because i just keep thinking over and over again and it never stops. I have tried meditation and i have been meditating for 2 days now, do i really have to meditate for months to start feeling like i have control over my mind? I need constant reassurance and when i don't get it, i get into a really bad place, this is taking a toll on my relationship with my significant other. Your videos are amazing, thank you for being you, you are helping so many people and i cant not get inspired by you!

      Consistency is the key. Making the decision to continue to push every day, regardless how you feel or what you see. Eventually after months of continual effort you start to see some real results. Rome was not built in a day, so don't give up if you seemingly fail once. Failure is proof that you're trying, so if you're not failing somewhere in your life, THEN you should be scared. Don't even look at your hotel, just focus on each small step you have to take to get there, and step by step, you'll win.

    I'm seventeen years old and my application for medicine has been rejected from all four universities, lockdown has really fucked my learning up and I don't know what my A level results will be since exams are cancelled and I find studying very difficult lately due to a constant feeling of panic. I have really high expectations of myself and I don't want to let my family down. I also wanted to go to a university in London because the change seemed exciting but that seems impossible now lmao. Strangely, I've found that listening to songs by BTS has really helped me; their lyrics are very comforting and relatable and it gives my mind something to focus on as I read the translations from Korean. Sorry for the brain dump if you're reading this; I just wanted to get my thoughts out and its better than screaming into a void.

      Well buddy, thats called under-thinking then. U are unconsiosly rethinking the same patters, without being led to a specific conclusion, or prodoctive understandings. I highly suggest u to hear the podcast -Think and Grow - strategies to deal with overthinking' (i think his name is Rubin). It will shift ur perspective about thoughts :)

    I’m on my high school’s varsity tennis team, and I know I’m good at the game, but my biggest weakness is my own mind. I overthink plays, I overthink my opponent, I overthink the game, and I lose to players I know are below my skill level. It’s been the same way for 3 years, and I finally want to make a change. I want to fix my anxiety and turn my biggest opponent into my most supportive teammate.
    To anyone else battling this, good luck and may we all conquer our minds going forward.
