    Najee has never really gotten his bell rung like Derrick Henry has. If you can find a play where he has let me know cause I can’t think of a time that has happend. But I can count multiple times where Henry has gotten absolutely obliterated and he’s still going strong. I thoroughly believe Najee has at least 3 more years of high level play left for us. Keep him please.

    I still dont understand the rhetoric around Najee. Botched pick? There is only 1 RB who has had 1000yds the last 3 seasons, one. NAJEE.

    • @OlcurtyB
      @OlcurtyB 7 месяцев назад

      Still doesn't make the botched pick narrative false. Both those things can be true at the same time.

    • @brucestack1658
      @brucestack1658 7 месяцев назад

      So, we picked the most consistant RB to be a staple of the offense as we figured out the QB transition and he has 3 consecutive 1000 yd seasons....what about that is botched?

    The NFL doesn't want to see DK go to the Steelers. DK makes the Steelers dangerous and puts the whole NFL on notice. Roman could tear up the middle of the field with slants and crosses. Roman can lull defensive backs to sleep and then burn them deep. Not to mention thunder and lightning(Najee and Warren) coming out of the backfield. I didn't even mention Friermuth and the defense. 💛🖤

    My opinion, pay the man.... Numbers don't lie, having a good/great RB will make or break an offense... I say like 3 years at whatever he wants, year or two guarantee and be done with him after that if he can't make a third appearance.

    • @rond766
      @rond766 7 месяцев назад

      Whatever he wants?? Are you crazy?... They should have done his 5th year for sure. He's durable but he is far from great.

      @@rond766 The best ability is availability and as your workhorse RB, that's Najee. They should sign him at what his 5th year option was for 4 years with team control over the last year.

    You need good players on the offensive line. For years the Steelers tried getting away with not drafting offensive linemen in the first round. SteelersNation was obsessed with Munchak forever. Not saying he’s not a good coach, but your job as a coach is a heck of a lot easier when you have Pouncey and DeCastro. We finally did the right thing drafting linemen in the first round the last two years. Hopefully it pays off.

    Harris has performed exactly why he was drafted; to be a 3-down workhorse back.
    Declining his 5th year option was 100% a business decision for a few reasons:
    1. New OC, new offense
    2. New Offensive Lineman
    3. Warren (Potential decreased role)
    Imho, I presume all parties with a need-to-know have already discussed potential numbers. I also think the FO would be willing to risk having to pay more if necessary to keep him at the conclusion of the season if his performance, at minimum stays on pace. I think the key is can Harris achieve the same production with decreased touches.

    Great fan question and yes, they botched that draft (and the next one) which is proven by watching the last two drafts making up for past mistakes.
    Najee is good not great and is a nice back in the 1:2 punch but is a grinder without game breaking potential.
    Pat is good not great as a reliable receiver but a subpar blocker.
    Both are really nice on the rookie contracts but become less attractive as the price goes up.
    Not botched picks themselves but the draft mentality of skill guys over the trenches was a botched decision.
    It was Ben’s last season-older and slow with an inevitable young QB coming up.
    For the QB position alone, both the aging QB and the rookie-to-be QB would’ve both greatly benefited from OL help far more than a RB and a non-blocking TE.
    That draft, and the following one (instead of KP), should’ve been the setup for getting a QB last draft plugging them in behind an OL capable of good protection and paving the way for the running game.
    The Steelers often pick in no man’s land in the first and would’ve been better off trading back rather than getting any RB-then they could’ve had Creed and still taken Muth to give the QB a safety valve. Or traded up. Either way would’ve been a better direction.

    I disagree with your comments about extending OTAs into Mini Camp...First, this is about the team not media cover..Second, remember Steelers have gotten better at each of the last 3 seasons at the end of the year. Which shows and proves that the chemistry isn't there at the beginning of the season..Third, there is only 3 preseason games and since it's basically to evaluate the rookies that less time to get things on track..Last, Players get a huge amount of time off from mid January to May come on man..!!! If Media guys were only covering football then they would have 5oo much time off, but again this is about developing chemistry with the team and not a thing about media coverage..
