Makeup will only increase our attachment towards our body and looking pretty, which completely contradicts our goal in bhakti or what we endeavour for as devotees. As far as food is concerned, once it is offered to the Lord, it becomes Prasadam. And Prasadam is said to increase our love and bhakti for the Lord, which is our primary objective! Ofcourse, many people are obsessed with food also, which is wrong too. Just as attachment towards our body will hinder our growth in spiritual life, so will other anarthas. We should try to gradually detach ourselves from all these things to advance in Bhakti, and all of it is a gradual process only... It won't happen all of a sudden. let's pray that we all are able to let go of our anarthas!

I just remember myself what I was before using makeup and after: Before I just loved to love all the people loved to embrace them really closely I even just befriended with a friend that had a mental serious mental desorder. She was often doing some ,,weird" things and stuff, but i loved her and never discriminated people (unless if they are actualy dangerious). After I started taking care about my apperance, I started be willing to be more closer to more beautiful, matajis and started avoiding matajis that are not that beautiful thinking they are not my level, and even started hating to see their apearance. In due course I started to notice bad changes in me and quit doing makeup for some time. I felt such a freedom. and desided to take care of myself just in basics like: a basic skincare using vaseline the worst cream i had is under eye cream (to avoid dark circles). that's it. So I am happy now I love myself for what I am, without changing myself and i love others for what they are.

I had a deep love for makeup since childhood as being a bharatnatyam dancer nd in teenage i was obsessed with which brand quality etc etc should i use for makeup but the practice of bhakti yoga taught me dt - "Dipima,you're already blessed with soo much, so use the best of yours in Radha-Madhavs service...i still make it up but just to look presentable as a person,offcourse I'm not a devotee yet but lost my obsession nd love for the external beauty" Thank you mataji,the way you speak is an inspiration for me and many,Please pray for us to be soo pure hearted devotee like you,Hare krsna🙏🏻

Thank you mataji for bringing up this very important point because Prabhupada never encouraged makeup in Bhakti we can see old videos and photos of Prabhupada disciple mataji’s how simple they were dressed always covering the head and simple sarees and till today we can see all Prabhupada disciple mataji’s covering their head with no makeup.
