I added the TWSBI Eco Clear to my pen collection, and it is my favorite, go-to pen now! I love how smooth writer the EF nib is on Tomoe River paper. I did expect the nib to write finer lines than it actually does (comparing it to my Platinum Preppy 02/EF), but I'm not sorry, since it demonstrates the Kuretake ink-café meiji no iro shikon ink I'm using in it so nicely. I have humble collection of pens: Lamy Safari, Lamy AL-Star, Lamy Studio, 4 Platinum Preppys and the TWSBI. I use them all on a daily basis, so this is the perfect selection for me.
I agree! I love a true extra fine line, but the "fancier" inks def shine in these EF nibs. I love my Platinum Preppy 02 as well :) Love your line up! Def need to try non-Safari Lamy pens one day... I'm also debating on whether or not to pick up another TWSBI Eco EF and have it ground at a pen show to a "real" EF... something to think about. I got time ;)
I've been scared of the Twsbi for years due to anecdotal stories of it cracking. I finally got one about 1 year ago. I'd planned to do a regular check in on the progress of this one single Twsbi that I own on my blog haha. Your video reminded me that I should do the first year check in :P Mine is the Twsbi Eco Clear with a broad nib to play with ink colours a lot more. I like using pastels in it because it looks so pretty sloshing in the barrel and the broad nib lays down a lot of that ink.
Cracking?! Oh my goodness, I haven't yet come across those stories yet, but I would be terrified too!! Definitely watching the ink slosh around is one of my favorite things in these types of pens. I write so small, so I'm a bit "scared" of broad nibs, but I'm toying with the idea of haaving at least 1 in my collection to play around with in my ink journal/swatching. Looking forward to your one year check-in!
Welcome to TWSBI club. They are great!
Thank you!! Got my eyes on the Cafe Bronze or Creme next haha! Very excited to use this one more in the days to come :)
