- In this video I unbox and have a first look at the OEX Hiero Stove while out on one of my hikes in the Peak District? The OEX stove is much cheaper than the Jetboil version but is it as good?

Gotta love new kit days Stuart. Thanks for sharing mate 8
New kit days are the best! Thanks for watching 🙂
An informative bit of viewing. Cheers Stu.👍
Thanks mate, it was just a quick look at the stove while I was out on a wander in the peaks. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😁
I have one of these, really like it for a fraction of the price of a Jetboil. Personally not that fussed about boil times but it does beat my Trangia easily!
Exactly! Does the same as a Jetboil just slightly slower, when I'm out and camping I'm never in a rush so an extra 30sec - 1min isn't a big deal. Especially when I'm used to alcohol stove speeds 😂. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😎
Thank you for your review.
I'll keep following, because you give such useful information.
All the best!
Thank you 😊
Hello Stuart.
Good review mate.
2-3 minutes is great.
No big rush camping.
Looks good and good size.
Nice job👍
@@JamieHarding5 yeah true no rush it’s a great size for cooking unlike jet boil size but for some reason still like jet boil but never tried oex so shouldn’t complain 😂😂
Yeah it boils in a decent amount of time, certainly quicker than my alcohol stove 😂 I think it's going to be perfect for winter hikes/camps. Thanks for watching Jamie, much appreciated 🙂
Had one a year now and has been excellent
That's good to hear! For the price I think it's brilliant 😎
@@StuartThow the thing with the Hiero like the Jetboil it uses less gas as it's so efficient.
So waiting a few mins isn't a problem but you do use more gas.
Looks decent. I prefer my Soto Windmaster. Also on those types of stoves you need a flashing light on top to prevent low flying aircraft from hitting them😅
🤣🤣🤣
Well put together but i still love my jet boil i know oex is cheaper but jet boil i had no problems with by the way where abouts on moors was you nice😃🤟🤟
Up at Hern Stones near Bleaklow, thanks for watching 🙂
nice not been there before
Ex-mil here and its jet boil for me... 90 seconds for a hot brew....time is ammunition 😂
Yeah I think it all comes down to what your looking for in your stove, if it's speed then the Jetboil wins everytime, but for cost I have to give it to the Oex... Plus im unfit so I don't mind the extra minute of sitting to recover 🤣
Me too, but it was 35 years ago using hexi stoves and the shite "waterproof" matches in the rat pack. Nightmare to light and took ages to make a brew. If we had Jetboils back in '88 on Dartmoor life would have been a little more comfortable!
Seems decent value. It's the one bit of kit I dont really have but I'm not a tea or coffee drinker and i think those rehydrated or boil in the bag meals are a rip off!
Hahaha not much point if you don't like tea, coffee or use boil in bag meals 🤣 The meals are rip off though!
@@StuartThow boiling water for a Pot Noodle...
Can't beat a Pot Noodle!
@@StuartThow no, but you do need to stir them.
😂
Dont fet back for football we lost 😂😂😂😂❤
Yeah it wasn't worth getting back for 😂
@@StuartThow 🤣🤣i was gutted
Jet boil takes 1 minutes and abit
And about the same time to empty your bank account 😅
@@unclepeteswildadventures it buy once and lasts a long time 😂😂
The only thing good about oex for me is a bigger mouth on cup
Yeah it does have a decent sized mouth, perfect for boil in bag food pouches 👍
