Hey, man, I just want you to know how impactful this song has been to my life. I used to be a hardcore fentanyl, Xanax, and codeine addict back in 2021. In August of 2021, I was sent by my parents to a long term residential treatment center in St. George, Utah. I was 15. I ended up spending 495 days there from August 16, 2021 to December 22, 2022. While I was there, I saw many of my closest friends sexually harassed and abused and was threatened to keep it quiet or the staff would make my life hell. Anyways, the happiness of this little song and the memories I had before treatment (and the specificity of hazy days under august shade) would bring me just enough happiness to get through the days. I would always be singing this song to myself in my head whenever I was there and it truly was one of the things that helped me work with my parents to get out of there. Thank you💛
