I just discovered this channel yesterday and it’s my new favorite thing while I’m stuck at home with Covid. Makes me really want to start collecting minerals again!
@vtx2023 My rock loving son and I had a huge collection of gorgeous rocks from Utah. When we moved back to TX, it was sudden, and for family. Very rushed move. I forgot to grab the rocks and when we realized we were already in Texas. I haven't collected since then, up until kow. Things happen that can break you for a bit, but we all eventually come back to what we love.
I just found your channel a couple of months ago. As a retired science teacher I really enjoy seeing nature’s beauty hidden within these rocks and geodes. I wish I were younger and able to get out and rockhound, but I’ll live vicariously through…..lol. Keep them coming!
I often wonder why you don't cut in thirds? I love gemology, but no idea about lapidary. Could you please enlighten me? This is fascinating & wonderful to watch! Thankyou!
Thank you Jeff for the rocks to cut and thank you Agate Dad for cutting the rocks and giving the video your wonderful attitude and joy. It makes me happy ty
Thank you, Jeff, for sending the Botswana agates!! The second to last looks like a feather to me! Love the last one! Thank you, Agate Date, for sharing your videos! Love them!!
I love watching these videos. I got here completely by accident a while ago but I’ve learned SO much. I never get over my fear that you’ll cut your thumbs, though. I saw a kid cut the top of his thumb off with a band saw in school in 1996 and apparently I’m not over it! 😅
The Botswana agates have such cool colors! The way the bands spread up from center always remind me of cartoon surprised eyes. My favorite was the first one; I really like the color, even with the quartz bean. The double at the end was unusual; it looks like the upper bands are echoes.
WOW! That last one…especially the last piece!!!! What an amazing depth! First piece reminded me of the opening of an all natural, underground stone tunnel! With the sunlight disappearing into its depths… so mysterious and beautiful 🫠 And the second one..when up close, looks like waves rolling and hitting the shore. But it’s inside a cave the sea has made, and there are stalactites as far as the light allows you to see.. 🫢 Absolutely beautiful!
As always your content makes me smile and and gasp with excitement at the beauty of these rocks. Thank goodness for HiTech Diamond for their great equipment! 😊
Beautiful agates! I was a little worried with all the chipping early on. Glad you were able to fix it so easily! Question: Is the depth inside the agates an optical illusion on the stone’s 2-D surface or is there actual glass-like clarity that lets you see deeper into the stone?
The one that fractured 😖 right before your blade change still had one really pretty half 😍 These were really fabulous! Could watch you do this all day 🤗
OK, who are you and what happened to Taylor? The last couple of videos you do not seem as excited as you used to be. I love when you get so excited and laugh. I hope everything is ok. Thanks you Jeff for the rocks!
Memory like a sieve: can't remember if I've said it before, but I love Botwana agate. The Malawi isn't bad either ;) And the amount of times you mentioned Rock in the intro, I'm surprised you didn't have Rock and Roll as the background music :P
Beautiful, very much alike one I bought a couple years ago, the same colors and patterns. I love it. (the first one this was). I call it purple. number two similar too. WOW, loved that orange, nice. Must be devastating with those fractures liked the color on the last one, blue-greyish and grey-whitish.
Thank you Jeff for your video. You are so blessed to get free rocks from friends. I am 79 disable man and just bought a 10" saw to fill one of my bucket list of things to do. Do you make any jewelry from all the stones you cut or they just for show and tell? Now I need to find some rocks to cut, but it is very hard for me to walk from bad back and legs.
I read VANILLA EXTRACT will keep mosquitoes at bay? 🤔 I haven't tried it because I haven't been outside when they would be most active? Hope you try it and let us know if it worked for you 😁🔥
awesome as always 🤘🏻 don't beat yourself up too much over those fractures, brother!! we're dealing with ancient rocks here 😂💕 they're all beautiful man, its the celebration of nature. blessings 🙏🏻
I do love your videos…I have absolutely no knowledge of minerals, or geology, or rocks! But I’m still fascinated…they’re so pretty…it’s a bit like opening presents on Christmas morning, you don’t know what’s inside until you open it! …off note…maybe it’s the girl in me, but I often say to myself…oooh they would make amazing earrings…it seems to be my own agate grading system 😂
I love these! Y’got two in there that look really oyster-y. But the fractures? I think you might be looking at them the wrong way; not to say they’re not frustrating or difficult to deal with, but with that red-purple one, it adds some visual interest. A perfect agate is a perfect agate, lovely and smooth and gorgeous, but sometimes the fractures really add CHARACTER to them. I hope you’re having a lovely summer, Agate Dad!
11:25 looks like a seam agate on top of a banded agate! Ain't never seen nothing like that before. And what in the wide world of sports did you do to your thumbs? Looks like the contact dermatitis I used to get from wearing latex gloves before I found out I was allergic to latex. Ouch 😮!
I’m sure glad some of those were beauties. I hope you enjoyed them Taylor. I’ll send some different kinds in a few months for your collection.
They are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing with Taylor and us lot of fans!❤
@@Ch3rryBomb769 he is a great guy
Yep we all appreciate it brother

"start collecting again" ..... means you stopped? hows that even possible?🤔🤔🤔🤔

Every one of those was beautiful!
Thank you Jeff and Agate Dad. Such beauty. Also Agate Dad your joyfulness rubs off.
Thanks Jefferson
Can you do more slab cuts from the larger rocks?? Do more than one per rock, if possible. There may be better areas throughout some of the rocks. 🙂
Thank you Jeff! I love the bands!
Gorgeous Botswanas! Thank you for sharing 😊
Amazing 🤩 amazing 😻 amazing ❤
That was amazing!!! Such pretty rocks!!
Hard to pick but I'd say it's a tie for favorite, the last two where just so pretty.
Another batch of very beautiful and interesting looking agates! Awesome video!
I love the rock!!! ❤❤❤
The difference a good blade makes! Nice batch, despite the fractures
Nice orange!!!
Regardless of the fractures they are all beautiful
😊 love the turtle Botswana purple/blue agate. Thankyou Jeff for the agates. The last one was stellar!🎉
You are so right . People that do lapidary work often give a friend a slab when cutting rocks to cab.
Thank you Jeff😊❤ Thanks for sharing the Botswana Beauties! My fav is the Double Bubble at the end!😅 Thanks for sharing😊❤
Beautiful! I could really see the blade flexing on the first couple agates, good lesson in using quality products.
I love watching these videos. I got here completely by accident a while ago but I’ve learned SO much.
I never get over my fear that you’ll cut your thumbs, though. I saw a kid cut the top of his thumb off with a band saw in school in 1996 and apparently I’m not over it! 😅
I’m envious . I collect geodes . Most of mine look mostly quartz
YAAAS! Love these so much! I wish I lived somewhere I could actually find good rocks 🫠
Gorgeous!
Thanks Jeff! Can you send me some?!!!
Why? Agate Dad has an ebay store!
@@mumo9413 true but he doesn’t ship to Canada!!
The last one reminds me of a glacier. The 2 before made me think angel wings. Thank you Jeff.
Thank you Jeff!
My favourite Botswana agate is the last one. So unexpectedly beautiful, the lines are so unique! Thank you Agate Dad ☺️
I love the wrinkles", it gives them character!
The Botswana agates have such cool colors! The way the bands spread up from center always remind me of cartoon surprised eyes. My favorite was the first one; I really like the color, even with the quartz bean. The double at the end was unusual; it looks like the upper bands are echoes.

Thanks Jeff! You helped Taylor to make a lot of people's day brighter!
9:21 holding those two like that resembles caribou feet.
I liked the last one.
The last one is beautiful and love the different shapes and colors
Thanks Jeff for sending theses amazing rocks and 5hanks Taylor for sharing.
That little orange had a heart on one side ❤
Beautiful agates! I was a little worried with all the chipping early on. Glad you were able to fix it so easily! Question: Is the depth inside the agates an optical illusion on the stone’s 2-D surface or is there actual glass-like clarity that lets you see deeper into the stone?
I guess I am not alone loving rocks. If you put me on a gravel pit I would never leave. Greetings from the mid Ohio River Valley.❤
The one that fractured 😖 right before your blade change still had one really pretty half 😍 These were really fabulous! Could watch you do this all day 🤗
Eagerly waiting
Natures unboxing videos for adult men. Yep, works for me

Thank you, Jeff! And great job, as us

Good!
🇨🇦 When the agates are cut, I see onions.
I loved the first one! I’m a sucker for quartz.
How about a video on how to get started? Absolute must tools, where to buy rocks, etc.

Super glue to the rescue.
So much variety! Thanks.
Can you point out a video that explains how these lines and colours and shapes form? #mystified
Such a nice break watching RUclips content that's pleasant and a little like Christmas. Jeannine
the red looks like dendrites!
There is no not pretty agate, all of them are beautiful because this is what they are and every one is individual
Wow. I collect all kinds of rocks. I really want to go further
nice!! like ever. I've seen the fracture before you cut the third one. But you don't hear me!! hahaha
The last one before you cut it reminded me of a duck
Beautiful Agates
Gorgeous ægates!

I liked the one at 4:06!
been having some bummer days. needed to see something pretty. thanks
Sorry to hear that! Hope they turn around 😊
@@AgateDad thanks
have you ever thought of using a clear gloss coating from a rattle can or spray bomb to use when you can`t polish the cut agates.
The different blade is working better!
For sure!
