Hollywood is known for a lot of things. Christianity isn't one of them. Still, over the last several years more and more actors have become more vocal about their faith.
In today's video, three prominent Hollywood Christians reveal the truth about their faith and the entertainment industry --- You won't believe what they had to say.
While some have continued to flourish, others have suffered the cost and been cut off from Hollywood.
What did Chris Pratt, Jim Caviezel, and Matthew McConaughey have to say about their faith. Why did one get ostracized and the flourish?

I truly didn't think that being a Christian was synonymous with Hollywood at all. They're in complete opposition, reading what Altiyan Child's and Rick Schroeder plus numerous other entertainers have said.

@@MsTERRY4658that would be the law but in Romans it explains that we are no longer under the law but under grace. The Bible tells us that if we have broken the law in one area we have broken it all...there is none righteous, no not one . Christ came to fulfill the law.
Those are good things to do but they won't get you to Heaven...apart from Christ even our good works are as filthy rags before God the Father.
God says to go out into the world and tell them about me. He wants us to be different from the world not be like the world. I praise these believers for standing up and out. We need to pray more believers stand up and tell the only truth is God's truth not this world.
The only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. No other way no matter what the world thinks. It is not what God's word says to be saved to get to heaven. The Gospel is the way. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. His word stays the same. The enemy satan makes people otherwise.
And another worthy Christian to mention, is Kevin Sorbo. He is so talented & has absolutely been rejected by Hollywood & the snowflakes. He was scheduled to go to Comicon, & when they found out he was a Christian, they revoked his invitation. So much for inclusiveness.

I lived in Hollywood for a year. It was a dark and nasty cesspool. Saw a lot of "firsts" in a short amount of time. But I did find a church with some of the strongest Christians i've ever met in my life. I remember going to see The Passion with the guys from the church and one of them showed up with a black eye. The day before somebody tried pulling him out of his car and his baby was in the back seat. So he fought tooth and nail with an armed man and God delivered him. Crazy spiritual warfare happening in Hollywood.
May God bless His saints that are living in that darkness

I believe you are walking on the edge of being "luke warm." As is Matthew McConaughey. If we believe the Bible ,which is the word of God, we must doubt nothing written in it. It seems easier for people to believe in ghost stories than a book that has lasted over 2000 years.

That is from the eternal word of God and there is no way that His main focus is on our hearts.

I prayed for several years, before, The Passion Of The Christ was made, for someone in Hollywood to make a movie about the crucifixion, that really depicted the brutality King Jesus had to go through, because things had advanced greatly with realistic make up, that I knew they could do it!
I was also tired of seeing the hypocrisy around me, with people not taking seriously what God went through to save us from evil…..🤨

Jesus does listen to and answer our prayers, to make movies about Him, with the talent He gave these folks.

As a former Californian, (almost fifty-six years) it's refreshing to know that some of them are professing their faith despite the outcome. I love ❤️ my faith and am not afraid to show it. Most of the time people are happy about the fact l am a believer. Sometimes people are a bit put off. That's okay because I pray for our Lord to soften their heart and let them see the goodness of the Lord. Afterall He gave his life for us. For that I will be eternally grateful.

I know that as individuals Christians are all in different maturity levels in their faith. What I see with Jim Caviezel is that he is very mature in his faith. He knows that he has been positioned where he is for a reason. If he sees evil he is to shed light on it. I pray all Christians no matter where positioned, they shed light on evil in this world. That is the only way to stop it. Know that God loves us and provides for and protects us and that we are here to fulfill His will for our lives on this earth.

We have taken my daughter to Disney for auditions as she was preselected at local auditions. We gave her the exposure to experience what it would be like to act.
She had call backs and knew that she could go further if we allowed her to. But we did not allow this as we weighed the options of this child pursuing her potential acting dream to living a normal family life and we chose the latter. I’m glad we did, she’s now completing her final year in medicine, still has her beautiful creative gifts which I’m praying she will find a way and time to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ with, who knows she might still pursue acting this time mature and more equipped🙌🏽🌈💜

Good call there, especially with the things we now know about Disney these days (much to my dismay & utter sadness). Even those child stars in Hollywood struggle because of the stress, influences, & abuse in the industry. I had thought of putting my son into some child acting, modeling, commercials, etc, when he was little & just kept getting a gut check not to every time I considered it. After seeing the stuff that goes on at times, I'm so glad I heeded that feeling & didn't pursue any of those options. We still had some really bad incidents occur just in regular life, but he's weathered them, is 23 now & a great Daddy to his sons... the eldest not being biologically his, but he stepped into his life willingly because he loved him & his Mama so much (as do I).
If your daughter ever decides to pursue any acting, she can always go with productions done by Angel Studios, Kevin Sorbo (Hercules until he left Hollywood), and even John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzard/Bo Duke until he left Hollywood) does some film, too. All Christians who provide wholesome opportunities safe from Hollywood predators. Congratulations to her on her medical degree & future professional endeavors btw.😊
My children benefited from local theater. Perhaps she could reach children the same way especially in summer especially kids struggling at home or emotionally. There is not necessarily the same corruption locally and if she is in charge there won't be. Theater gives both actors and the audience a safe outlet to explore feelings in a venue where it is expected and accepted. It can be a gift. One of my kids (now adults) favorite exercises was saying the alphabet but they were told to say each letter with a different feeling. Blessings on helping your child to find an important career.
For those in Hollywood who would not clap when God was thanked will one day call “Lord, Lord!” and he will answer “Depart from me. I do not know you”.
People might lose their souls in that infernal atmosphere.

Agreed! He's a young believer but he's being bold. I pray he's not the same Christian in 5, 10, or 20 years from now. That goes for the rest of us. We should all be pursuing Christ by denying ourselves, picking up our crosses, and following Him.

I am proud of Denzel, Chris, and Matthew for not being in fear because of Hollywood. I think of Moses who warned and told the people about God. No one listened. Can you imagine the people outside of the Ark begging to get in the ark. Are you willing to tell God, I’m sorry for the pride I refuse to give up. I remember over 10 years ago when Justin Bieber toured and my little daughter wanted to go to the concert which I was not for, but decided that I will take her through. Watching all the teenagers scream and rave I just sat there praying and in tears wondering if only this child would commit to Christ, what a wonderful difference and impact he would on youth for Christ . And thinking would we actually get this response from teens if that was Christ on the stadium!

I agree the Church needs to pray more for the Believers in the industry to be mentored by seasoned, true and grounded Believers, rather than bashing them. We don't know their backstory or level of knowledge or all the other things pertaining to their walk, growth or struggles. We ought to be building them up with prayer and encouragement. The rest is for God to sort out and reveal to them.

I got lost after the dragging of Jordan Peterson. I’d challenge anyone to study behavioral theory and apply it clinically and come out on the side of fighting for religion… which Jordan does. He is so kind. So thoughtful. Out here doing heavy lifting.
We are all at different mile markers on our road of faith. We would serve Christ well to love and encourage each other.
Jesus went through far worse……so I think we ( actors included) should be able to give up our pain, our set backs, up to God because He gave up His life for us.

As Believers in Jesus Christ, we are all at different maturity levels in our walk with Jesus. As this Pastor pointed out, we need to pray that the right people come into the lives of ALL Christians to encourage them and help them grow in their faith. None of us are perfect, but praise God that we are forgiven! 🙏

I have followed him and he is very on fire for God. He put out a docu last year with others who were Christians and they had many spots speaking about God and Jesus I follow Matthew and Trent Sheldon both very very hot for God

I appreciate that you focus on the good. Why do people especially Christians criticize anyone when they show they are not perfect even in Hollywood?! I am 67 and been saved for 59 years. I’m am not perfect yet but I’m growing in my relationship with Christ. It doesn’t take everyone to get where I’m at this long to get here. But everyone has a different purpose and timeline for that purpose. All I know is if we seek the Lord, Jesus Christ He will draw near to us grow us up in Him. And to the people who may read this His love is deeper than anything you’ve ever experienced before!!!❤

I just remember watching an interview with Jim when he played Jesus in the Passion of Christ & he was talking about when he was discussing the role with Mel& he said, I just realized something - My initials are JC & I'm 33 !!
And I remember thinking right then & there - Yep you for sure were hand picked for this role & what a Blessing this is. At the same time, just as you said on this podcast, Jim knew he was going to lose many roles after the release of the movie, but he didn't care because his Love for Jesus is so much more important ✝️💜 I love this so much & I love Jim's heart for being so true to our Lord. ✝️🙏💜 Thank you for posting this!! No disrespect intended but you shouldn't trust someone because they claim Jesus. The Bible teaches us to test the spirit to see which spirit you are dealing with. You need to be able to watch this person so you can see what type of life he is living. If he or she lives a life in Accordance to the Bible give sound doctrine there's a little bit more I think but I would have to look it back up. Don't be trusting. Don't let it sounding good fool you. I did that. It sounds about right so we except it. Don't except it go find the truth yourself. They may have added something or taken away something that changes what that scripture means now that word means something else. You however cannot truly watch these people outside of TV so I definitely wouldn't trust them. You don't know what they are doing. On top of that you miss things that actually tell who they really are in their films and shows they are on. Don't trust watch them and see if their lives is in Accordance with the bible. Don't pay attention to charities. That can be PR public relations. It is done all the time to make people look good.
None of us know what goes on in ANYONE”S private life. Some judge people by themselves and insist every Christian live like them or they’re going to hell. We need to let the Holy Spirit lead new Christians as they get to know the scriptures and learn to follow the Holy Spirit. That’s call Sanctification. We need to accept them as they are let them be discipled.

I absolutely believe that our Heavenly Father appreciates and rewards honesty in their personal relationship with God.
We’re all on our own paths following Christ! Some are more mature in their faith. We’re all different and we all come to God in different ways. Me, I had to endure much suffering in my journey. It’s what finally brought me to my knees. So I am grateful to God. As my Father he knows how stubborn I am. I need to be whacked over the head! Jesus never stopped knocking on my door! I am still suffering sometimes as I am not well. However you need to pick up your cross and follow Jesus. I can’t imagine how much he suffered! So why shouldn’t I suffer for Him? Mine doesn’t even come close to His! I have also been mightily blessed ❤ If I didn’t become ill I would have not been saved by my Savior. Do I have bad days? Of course I’m only human and I know God understands & still lavishes me with unconditional Love. Mercy & Grace abound! I may not have everything I want but He always provides what I need. We need to understand many things like the burning bush we will never wrap our heads around. We weren’t there! There are many mysteries we don’t understand but when we leave this world all will be made clear ❤😇

I'm glad, Pastor, that you are allowing grace to the actors & actresses that voice "I don't know what to do with.......", whatever in the Bible. First, it would be a difficult walk in the movie business. They are willing to speak up, and they are being honest about what they don't know about what the Bible says. Thank you for this video, and your comments. You are very compassionate. The way we know if someone is truly a follower of Jesus, is obedience, faithfulness and yes, growth. They should be growing, seeking fellowship with other believers, reading, studying and both inwardly and outwardly growing. You know it yourself, as you grow in a love for Jesus, the things of this world grow dimmer, and you loose affection for this 'world' . Yes we will certainly continue to pray for every one of those souls to grow and remain faithful, hating sin and all appearances of evil, as we are commanded.

About that Rogan clip: most of the Jews in Hollywood are not religious. Many of the old studios were started by Jewish immigrants who weren’t religious. A couple of them even converted to Christianity. Like many people, Rogan confuses Jewish ethnic heritage with Jewish religion. He’s uninformed, yet talks like he knows. He misleads people that way, unknowingly.
Those Jews in Hollywood today who are religious, like Mayim Bialik, encounter as much difficulty sometimes as religious Christians do. Like she’s talked about trying to keep the Sabbath in a religious way and not work on Friday nights and Saturdays. This problem is not unique to Christians. It’s an issue for any religious person trying to succeed there.
I loved this and it reminds me of the actual disciples of Christ who had to fear for their life when attesting to the truth of Jesus. Matthew Mc reminds me of a baseline Christian who is not mature in the faith but still believes in Christ as his Savior. You have to pursue the Lord continuously as your #1 priority in life in order to keep learning. Matthew still had kept Christ a priority and I love that!
As a very long time Christian I am so thrilled when new Christians ask these questions because it makes me look at what I believe with fresh eyes and get in there and say Lord give me new fresh perspective on something that need to be able to defend!!

Thank you for speaking on this subject! As Christians we have been far too judgmental of new believers who are in the public eye. Why do we think it’s okay to judge someone else’s heart, when with their mouth they have professed Jesus? New believers need support, encouragement, and PRAYER to grow and mature, not expectations of instantaneous maturity and understanding.

These brothers and sisters deserve every pray from us, I am so proud of them because it takes strong faith to be in that fire. It is so hard to deal in a daily basis with small situation in the Cristian life and these brothers and sisters deal with a much greater scale of rejection to faith in God. They are really shining and doing what God has command is to do in a very humble way. Don’t get discouraged brothers in sisters keep the fire 🔥 going!!

I hope your good example will give others the courage to speak up as well. I know there are a lot of good people in Hollywood who are perhaps afraid to speak out for fear of retaliation. No one should have to lose their job for expressing their faith. I lost respect for Hollywood years ago. I am a huge fan of the actors that you highlighted. Yes, they say they are Christians. They thank God, giving Him praise and glory, etc, for their success and accomplishments. They are to be commended for the wonderful humanitarian work they are doing in their communities.
However, lets take a look at the movies that they have made. They are filled with violence, sexual content and language not befitting of a Christian. So I ask the question, would a true "believer"
(there is a huge difference between the two words) be a part of this enviorment?
I once worked for a company that made such movies. When I became a believer, I resigned from the job knowing that it would cause a great financial strain on my two income family. It worked out fine because God provided what we needed not what we wanted!
Many people today profess to be Christians yet do not follow the true meaning of what the Bible teachers. They are twisting the meaning of the words of the scriptures to satisfy and justify what works for them.
There are a few actors who have been chastised and "black listed" for being true to their faith. Yes, they can turn down projects but there are few rolls, which I mentioned above, that are G or slightly PG ratings. This has led to them losing their homes and livelihoods.
To the Christian actors out there will you continue making movies that have violence, sexual connotations and fowl language?
Pastor Don, I understand what you are saying but are they truly following the Word?

You bring up fair points. We all live with contradictions in some way. Most are private instead of public. I know McConaughey is more recently vocal about his growing faith and hasn’t released a film since 2019. So, I don’t want to be unfair over something he did in the past when I can focus on the present.

You are without sin!? Is the context of their role agreeable? Would you risk doing Gods job in spite of him? Perhaps you felt it a bit violent what Jesus Said about the tree that bore no fruit or him turning over the tables and cursing the temple and it's attendees? And if they hear you not wipe the dirt from your feet that may have come from their home for they shall know pain! It's what he implies, he's no tree hugger and he doesn't sit around and hope he was to be reckoned with! But for each instance he treated the way he knew best. Do you have such wisdom!? I remember ppl protesting violence in cartoons and movies star wars for instance. Righteousness will never mix with evil, it will fight! try it and you'll find it as violent a reaction as mixing fire and water. No shalom, is that some pride or boast. I wonder if there where any mocking him and saying that as he was being crucified? It's the language of those who despised him and do so till this day! Know humility and your place.

At one time, most of the Hollywood movies & TV shows had Christian themes: The Ten Commandments, The Robe, Song of Bernadette, & Ben Hur. There were light Christian movies like Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, & all the Christmas classics!The TV shows: Lassie, The Lone Ranger, &The Rifleman to name a few. Clint Walker, Ronald Reagan, & Roy and Dale Rogers, Jimmy Stewart, Jane Russell, Bing Crosby, & Pat Boone constantly showed their faith!
