🇭🇷 It’d been my dream to sail in Croatia since I obtained my skipper licence. This year after receiving my IYT Course which will be published this winter as well, We planned to visit Croatia.
🔥 This 2nd Episode we depart to discover our neighborhood Gruz. Very strategic location. Near Bus Station. Away from hustle and bustle of the Old City. Some Local Bakeries Farmer’s Organic Market and walking distance to the Centar ! If I lived in Dubrovnik. I’d definitely live there in Gruz. Right Across. Lapad Area.
☞ In this Episode we have three things to do ! First we must buy A Sim Card with a data plan. You can get a Croatian SIM card from, Hrvatski Telekom (Simpa), A1 (formerly Vip), Telemach (formerly Tele2), Bonbon & Tomato in their stores and from resellers, like convenience stores and grocery stores. We consulted in @TMobileCZ We’d used this provider during our jolly time in USA and T-Mobile Satisfied our expectations. However Our @Apple iPhones only support E-Sim Card and there’s no SIM card slot. In Croatia if you bring a phone that only functions with an E -Sim, You can’t get a Pre Paid plan. In this case We used an application called Airalo I’ll leave the link here. Also You can download the app from this link with my referral code and we both earn 3$ for your first data plan.

☞ Second thing to do was to book our bus ticket to Split! There were couple of different options available. @FlixbusDe was one of the online options that you can book a bus to split that leaves at 08.00 AM so it was little earlier. I went to the Coach Station to buy the tickets from the counter. I found out that there are busses leaving at Every hour. We used a company called “Promet Makarska”
It’s actually a bus that goes from #dubrovnik all the way to #zagreb Passing by Metkovic, Ploce, Makarska and #split #sailcroatia #sailing #adriatic
We will get off in Split.
For this bus ride I recommend you to ask the one that goes faster. The road conditions in Croatia are not like in Turkey. It’s worse. Because of the Coastal Morphology, the area is limited so it’s narrow ! And unlike the Turkish Intercity busses they stop too often. We can say it stops as often as a city bus!
So it took a long time. I’ll add the Bus Journey in the next episodes. That Drive was one of the most scenic drives of My entire life.
☞ Of course we needed a transportation to move around. As you’d seen in the first episode @Uber Drivers are lovely in Croatia.

But since I can’t ride a Motorbike in Istanbul’s chaotic traffic. I like to ride a motorbike in Europe where the rules are better obeyed. I feel safer and more comfortable. That was an experience to rent the bike and thanks to my new camera DJI Action 2. I was able to record almost any moment.

In this episode we also discover Frapa Marina DUBROVNİK. Even though there was Bare Boat Charter Options in from Dubrovnik Frapa Marina as well, I booked the yacht from Split. Because It was my Semester Project during my Post Graduate. I already studied well the itinerary so I planned the Sailing Week Croatia from Split.
After we did what we’re supposed to do, Now It’s a Beach Time !!
First we tried the Banje Beach. Banje Beach is closer to the Stari Grad ( Old Town) However it was way too crowded and expensive the sea beds. So We decided to go to another beach. However if you go there earlier you might enjoy the Banje Beach better !
I found another Plaza ( Beach) from Google Maps. Plaza Sveti Jakov. Basically Saint Jacob in English. Sveti Jacov in Croatian. I’ll leave the link below. And In the video you can find the pros and cons of two different beaches. We really liked Sveti Jakob Beach. Highly recommended.
