I literally came here from Better Call Saul from the episode where Chuck played this song on the piano, and when I heard the intro melody, I thought, "Wait, this sounds familiar.." So I thought about it for a second, and then I realized, "Wait, this song sounds like the one that plays on Civ 5..". So I went back to the part where it showed the song name, and searched Civ 5 Sicilenne, and just like that, I found the same song. What a small world we live in.
Recently performed this for my final as for cello. I picked it specifically because of how much I loved it in Civ V! Thank you so much for exposing me to the wonders of classical music in my earlier years.
I forgot about this beautiful piece of music from my Civ V days until I recently came across it again in Better Call Saul and thought that it sounded familiar
This music reminds me the aftermath of every deal with a leader. "The sun will shine always on your reign, my friend! What do you want?" "What do you want for 2 pearls?" "Well, 100 golds for turn, 5 horses, 3 irons, your capital, 6 cities and the right to cross your land!" "What if I'll give you 3 irons and 2 horses?" *It's treason then*
Heard this on the classical music radio station. I was at work and faintly heard it and thought to myself "wait a minute". Told my coworker I know this song from civ 5.
This music is also present in the film "The Secret Garden" (1993): in the scene in which one of the servants is kneading dough whilst singing lyrics along the melody. After watching it, I knew I had to find the soundtrack recognized from my time playing Civ V.
I play in Civililization 5 as a European nation since 2019. But only when i visited Europe in real live, I understand real meaning. Beautiful city with beauriful buildings, natures, sidewalks, roads, public transport... And when walk over this masterpeacies and lissening this track... Undestand why creaters took this tracks...
I think stealing is a harsh word. All music is built by taking existing melodies and harmonies and modifying it to make something new. That's just how creativity works.
@@GabeSyme @Me.K if he had simply disclosed that he took parts of it from Faure then I wouldn't have had to search for years to find it. At least cite your sources.

Same thing, this sure is a small world we're living in!
Same here
yep
i'm here for the same reason!
Same thing happened to me
This always makes me think "Hmmm, I wonder what [insert name of leader I don't trust here] is up to......"
Sicilienne by Gabriel Fauré. Originally composed for piano & cello, but this version is beautiful too!
This played on my grandmother's funeral today. I'll never listen to this track in the same way again.

Me, playing as Bismarck, thinking things are going well after conquering Boudicca. Genghis Khan: Allow us to introduce ourselves

This song is used briefly in The Walten Files (YT webseries)! Knew I'd heard it before!
Anyone else think this kinda sounds like roads most traveled from Morrowind?
Only real G's remember when Chuck played this on piano
RIP Chuck
Nah Chuck is an asshole. No rip
LOL
i dont know why but when i hear this song i remember harrypotter :)
Maybe it's because of the whistfullness and tranquil happiness of this piece... (dabs)
Mr Malfurion I can hear a resemblance to the harry potter theme, especially in the rhythm.

it has the same rhythm as the H.Potter main theme. Viennese waltz
